Well, color me surprised, I never thought this Radioactive would see the light of day.
And what a Radioactive it was. Newman’s crash is still hard to watch, but watching him walk out of the hospital with his daughters just two days later will never get old.

You can also hear the guilt in Ryan Blaney's voice when he talks to his crew. He felt bad even though it was a complete accident.
Even with already knowing how this all played out, I still got chills seeing the picture of Ryan Newman walking out of the hospital with his daughters at the end. They say a picture is worth a thousand words...that one might be worth a million words for how powerful it is

Brendan Gaughan is a man who knows what a flip feels like, and his reaction when he saw Ryan Newman above him, that's how you can tell it was a terrible wreck.

@@jnegamingsson3294 yes just by the way he got out of his car and put his head on his car you could tell he was fighting back tears as well when they interviewed him. He honestly thought he had killed him.
I swear, Newman is a tank! He’s one of the only guys I know that can be in so many horrific crashes and somehow turn out okay.

My gut wrenched for hours and hours after the 500... just kept praying still brings a tear to my eye
I was playing a roblox NASCAR game and we were honoring Newman and praying for him

This is the first time I've rewatched the wreck since it happened. Couldn't help but tear up just the same.

The most famous race in history, anything can go wrong in the time of a snap of the fingers, I’m not religious but god was with Ryan Newman that day
I’m going to say one thing. WHEN THIS CAME OUT people started hating on Hamlin when he won the 500 and celebrated. The same thing happened in 2001 when Dale crashed and died. Micheal did his donuts and went to victory lane and partied. Obviously Newman’s looked scarier originally but thinking back on what we’ve seen with those old cars in 2001 people were likely just as scared. I just wanna say that. Tired of seeing people hating on Denny for this.
To be fair everyone who was friends with Michael wanted him to just enjoy the moment to celebrate his win. They didn't want him to worry to much about dale yet. Michael also was expecting dale to come in to victory lane to celebrate with him.

Thank the Lord that Ryan Newman survived that incident at the checkers. Still, that crash is violent, & horrible, & dangerous. Plus, that almost looked like what happened on February 18th 2001. We all remembered what took place on that day. But this one, it could of been worse. I still love racing. 🏁

For 2 or 3 hours after that I was refreshing my google search over and over and over trying to find updates on him, I was praying hard, and when it was announced that he was ok and doing well I thanked god for his gifts and let out one of the millions of breaths that were being held. I’m so glad he’s ok and in good health

So moving how all the other drivers were trying to find out about Newman as soon as possible. Well made Fox! That was one of the greatest races in awhile. So far this year (for the races we’ve had) it’s been good racing. NASCAR is back!
7:04 I never seen that footage before. That crash is one of the worse crashes I've seen.
The editing for Radioactive is ALWAYS topnotch...but this was over-the-top PHENOMENAL!! I saw some camera angles that I hadn't seen before and hearing the reactions from other drivers, spotters and crew chiefs after the accident was really heart wrenching. I couldn't be happier that Ryan's now back in the #6 and back to being healthy and well.
Seeing the impacts that Newman took still make me wince. That's probably one of the most violent accidents I've ever seen.

was my first nascar race. I've watched every race since.
The ending stull gives me chills, even after many months later
Man even watching that knowing there’s a happy ending it still is so... unsettling to watch that. Safety has come a long long way in nascar. So thankful that Newman is still alive and even back to racing.

It's been almost one year that we almost lost Ryan Newman and I thank God he survived but anytime I see pictures and frames of that car I just get absolute chills and seeing that picture of him leaving the hospitals with his two daughters gets me choked up everytime

I didn't think I'd cry again. knowing that Ryan is okay and back to racing... but here I am. That ending ..man. I'm so glad he didn't get hurt worse. So thankful for all of NASCAR's safety innovations over the years. Great job putting this one together, guys. Been waiting for this!

@@RedMaster366 he was just doing his job, which was race as hard as he could to win. And sometimes tragedy comes from it. It’s a big testament to how far safety has come in these cars, and I can’t imagine the guilt and stress that that kid felt in the moments after.

This reminds me of Dale Earnhardt’s final crash. It’s almost incredibly similar last lap on Daytona with a all most killing crash
I don’t know about anyone else but I cried towards the end man Newman is one lucky guy. The lord was with him that night. So glad he’s racing again I truly thought he would retire after that but he worked his butt off to get back to the track
Just watching this brings me back to seeing this live. Seeing him go into the wall and Lajoie hitting him will always send chills down my spine.
Im with you there. I saw it happen, and I am usually someone with thick skin, always mature but when I saw Lajoie slam him, i thought we had just watched someone brutally die. I had tears all night.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Me and my dad were watching this race. When he flipped and slided across the track I yelled “get him out of that car!”

Thank NASCARs engineers for implementing all these safety features too. Had this same crash been 10-20 years ago, Newman will likely have suffered a critical injury or even died. Thankfully NASCAR hasn't had a fatal crash since 2001 with Dale Sr. (Rip)

Newman has had terrible crashes before, and this one was a surprise to me. But no matter what happens, Newman gets out safe and alive.

I was trembling when Newman crashed and wasn’t talking. My heart was going haywire

That night, I prayed so much that Newman was ok. I didn’t even care about Hamlin winning the 500 until I knew that Newman was ok. Glad he’s ok.
