All the time and effort it is to make a movie is unbearable, and it seems like the crew put everything they could into this movie! Imagine putting your hard effort into something for 3 years, finishing it, and someone throws it away.
All the money's already been spend, and with test screenings like that you're more then likely to get good returns. Honestly the current CEO seems like a terrible businessman, and i hope that the shareholders lose confidence and back off (because only then will he understand how much he's fucked up)

I think we can all agree at this point that WarnerMedia was better for Warner Bros. Yes, WarnerMedia had its problems, but it wouldn't have had never canceled Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt and other projects. I also believe that Warner Bros. itself would have liked to release these canceled projects, as well as Coyote vs. Acme, but since they are under the decision-making power of Warner Bros. Discovery, they have to abide by it because the the decisions comes from the parent company
I'm convinced that, were it not for Barbie making $1.4 billion for them, WB would be on the verge of bankruptcy. They've made nothing but horrible decisions left and right... Nearly every other major realese this year bombed, and even with Barbie, the rumors that Discovery will sell off their film division in the future seem totally believable. Good riddance, hopefully the next owners will do something about all these canceled projects.

There’s already a petition to release this movie (I signed it myself and sharing it). This is the last straw, the animation guild needs to be unionized and strike! I feel a strike might be what needs to happen to revive everything WB cancelled since the merger (do not give that bullshit of tax offs being permanently irreversible, those movies and cartoon shows can be brought back!)
It's actually not bullshit, once the studio takes the tax-write offs, they are legally not allowed to ever release it. That's the law. I doubt a petition will change that.
Here an idea. Since all these movies are canned for a tax write off and tax money is used for the public, the wrote off movies should go into public domain. The companies will still own the ip, but that movie is just freely seeable and the plot can be used by anyone(Change the characters and terms, but otherwise.)
At the very least if WB survives this ordeal and gets it's shit together, their remaining writers will have great material to work with for a cartoon villain. The fact WB and other film studios have made horrible decisions and aggressive 'damage control' measures because of the strikes is at no fault of the strikes themselves, but an issue with the company. Not to mention this isn't new behavior due to the strikes, this has always happened and likely will continue to happen.

I’ve been waiting for this movie for years, I think ever since it was first confirmed Coyote VS Acme was in development. I was in middle school when I found that out and I’ve been eagerly anticipating this film ever since… I’m grateful there’s backlash from both the production crew and fans for writing this movie off. But I think the only way Zaslav is gonna start giving a shit is when it starts affecting his bottom line, and WBD stocks already aren’t doing so hot. Here’s hoping they go even lower. And whether the film goes through with an official release later on or a huge leak happens, I hope we all get a chance to see Coyote VS Acme!
The mishandling of Coyote VS Acme’s release is also why I have a slight vendetta against the Barbie movie. While I ultimately enjoyed the film a bunch, I still hold some resentment towards it for taking Coyote VS Acme’s original release date.
Well according to my knowledge, once it's a tax write-off, it cannot be released EVER. The idea and IP is dead. Otherwise WB would break laws if they did release it. They can't use it. Though they could rework a new film but the current version can't be used.

Nah tax writeoffs are different. They already did a wave of these, including to finished productions that already have been out like the entirety of the hit animated series "Infinity Train". When something has been turned into a tax writeoff, it cannot be legally released anymore. In the case of Infinity Train it is now only available via piracy. The same happened to other series like "Final Space" and "Fired on Mars". All removed from the face of the earth in legality.

I’ve been waiting for this movie for years, I think ever since it was first confirmed Coyote VS Acme was in development. I was in middle school when I found that out and I’ve been eagerly anticipating this film ever since…
I’m grateful there’s backlash from both the production crew and fans for writing this movie off. But I think the only way Zaslav is gonna start giving a shit is when it starts affecting his bottom line, and WBD stocks already aren’t doing so hot. Here’s hoping they go even lower.

The mishandling of Coyote VS Acme’s release is also why I have a slight vendetta against the Barbie movie. While I ultimately enjoyed the film a bunch, I still hold some resentment towards it for taking Coyote VS Acme’s original release date.
Well according to my knowledge, once it's a tax write-off, it cannot be released EVER. The idea and IP is dead. Otherwise WB would break laws if they did release it. They can't use it. Though they could rework a new film but the current version can't be used.

This is only speculation, and if they are eventually gonna release these movies, they're doing it the worst way possible. Their words are definitely not saying they are, but like I said, they did release one of those movies they said they weren't gonna release.
Nah tax writeoffs are different. They already did a wave of these, including to finished productions that already have been out like the entirety of the hit animated series "Infinity Train". When something has been turned into a tax writeoff, it cannot be legally released anymore. In the case of Infinity Train it is now only available via piracy. The same happened to other series like "Final Space" and "Fired on Mars". All removed from the face of the earth in legality.

@@dcbandit Yup, a tax writeoff worth 30 million dollars. For context the movie cost 70 million to make, which in the grand scheme of things is a very modest budget. It could've easily earned that back, but instead it'll in the grand total be a 40 million dollar loss for WB, and no one will get to see the movie unless someone leaks the movie from their vaults.
