Monster hunter 4 CGI cinematic an Iodrome killed the Zinogre obviously with the help of some Ioprey but then the Zinogre came back to life due to the virus and almost massacred the Iodrome who then got eaten by his now infected Ioprey minions. That could pretty much be why the Dromes have minions

I like how it actually references certain in-game mechanics throughout the video. Anyone who's actually played the game can recognize them and say "oh yeah, that actually happens" Just the small details that make it good. Sharpening weapons, using the Cool Drinks on hot maps, setting up barrel bomb ambushes (Sleep bombing would have been more ideal though). The monoblos getting stuck on a climbable ledge The archer even picks a nitroshroom and makes a powercoating with it. The trap gets set up and never used though lol
I really don't want to directly blame the MH crew for the movie coming up. I think that if it was up to them then it would have been a traditional MH experience. Instead we have the director from the Resident Evil movies. Apparently he played past Monster Hunter games so I still hold hope that it'll at least be decent......that hope is very little though.....😅😂

I love how you get a glimpse into the lives of hunters; capcom does a great job using cinematics with no dialogue here. Each hunter shown here has a distinct personality despite being unnamed, unimportant (aside from the intro) characters. I'm pretty new to the series- I've only played 3 and 3u (3ds)- but I've been excited about this title since before there even was any notion of it coming stateside. Mostly because I hadn't had the chance to fight alongside more than one hunter. I can't wait for online multi!!!
You should look up the intro for MHFU (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite), it also shows some interesting background stuff going on like the process of making armor.
Diezen omg, this reply is very late, but just before mh4u's release, i watched all the intros, and i really liked MHFU's! the first one was really neat too; it reminded me of the intro to the movie "dinosaur."
Drew Potvin its mostly village quests, and it ties in to the high rank story. although I gotta say, even though seregios doesn't create nearly as much of an "oh shit!" feeling as deviljho, the pinecone face is far more aggravating to have in the same area.
The idea of an overnight hunt would be pretty cool to me. The monster is too far for the guild to send you directly there so your hunting party hikes out to the location of the camp. Take the night prior to the hunt to get supplies, scout out the area, and stet up base camp. Then the next morning set out and find the rally point where the monster is expected to be.
+Hannibal Hyde that would be totally boring imo. spending loads of time walking to place instead of actually dropping you into the fight. and scouting the area would be redundant too because they use an area system and most players have the layout memorized.

This game is just way too addictive, I love building the armor sets and weapons and upgrading them as well as how the variety of boss monsters attack and react to things. The perfect balance of difficulty and the fluidity of online gameplay makes this a must buy on the 3DS!

When you think about it, this is actually a fairly accurate representation of the gameplay. It really just has fancy camera angles. And that's why I can't stop playing Monster Hunter.

Reminds me of the Monster Hunter 2 intro where the hunters are fighting the Blongonga. The Monster Hunter G intro cinematic is my favorite of them all and it always sparks an ember of inspiration in my soul when I watch it. I hate Capcom for moving to Nintendo but I love them at the same time for continuing to do such a damn good job making this franchise. Us veteran hunters fell in love with the Sony generation but these Nintendo titles are still awesome. I bought a Wii U *just* for MH3U and I'll be getting a 3DS *just* for this game. February needs to get here faster!

Aside from my earlier comment I have to say I just love these kinds of intros that show all the prep work leading up to the hunt and even bits of the hunt and how well the Hunters have a personality without any dialog we can understand or any at all sometimes. I wish they made this into a video series, animated or CGI like this I don't care, it would be AWESOME. Every time I see one of these intros I can't help but watch them over and over again to see if I pick up some new little thing I didn't notice before.

I think that was the first time I have ever seen a few things happen in a trailer for MH; like combining materials, seeing parts break off, setting up for the trap and finally... what cool drinks look like! I am so hyped for this game, it has a ton of potential (despite all the talk about graphics) and hope to play it soon!
Is anyone going to comment the fact that while these Hunters are fighting a Cephadrome, a Diablos and a Seregios --- your Hunter is kicking back relaxing as you and your caravan went their separate ways for a time after all the things you dealt with like uncovering the secrets to the Frenzy Virus: fighting the evolved state of the Gore Magala: defeating the Apex Seregios and a Crimson Fatalis while you had protected Dundorama from a Rusted Kushala Daora. I know it's not in the proper order but you get the idea. Also, I know MH is inconsistent due to the fact is doesn't have a canon story-line but we all got to admit that MH4/Ultimate has the greatest story where you were just an up-coming Hunter ready to sign up to the Hunter Guild only to get yourself caught up in facing against a Dah'ren Mohran and join alongside the treasure hunter the Caravaneer in the most life-changing adventures ever. I would think and believe that each of the five generations were set in different time periods. The events did happen, but not at the same time. Twenty-five years leading up to one-hundred twenty-five years after and all that leads up to the New World.
So now what? They shut down the wiiU version? I hope not... Capcom needs to keep this series online longer and they need to pick a platform and stick with it! I've fuckin chased this game from PS2, to PSP... to Wii, to WiiU and now to DS! PICK A FUCKING PLATFORM!
***** The Wii u version wasn't a port. The 3DS and Wii U one were being developed at the same time, it's just an improvement over Monster Hunter Tri on the Nintendo Wii.
They aren't gonna shut down the Wii U version's servers from what I've seen. And the 3DS is the smartest platform for capcom to stick it on right now because the 3DS is currently the best selling console in japan right now by far. Monster Hunter is also booming right now in Japan. So it wouldn't be in their best interest to have it on another console.

Also considering the fact that MH isn't free roam, they wouldn't have to worry about optimizing a whole world all at once as well, allowing them to have even greater detail. James Gordon Did you know that, according to the game lore, hunting is actually extremely regulated by the Hunter's Guild? Hunters don't get to hunt dozens of monsters for their equipment, oh no: that's just for gameplay's sake. Hunters usually only get to hunt one monster of each species and poaching is punishable by death. There are actually very few hunters around; not only to prevent over-hunting but also because it's, obviously, not a job for everyone. High and G-Rank hunters are even more uncommon. I can definitely agree that it feels like we are destroying the entire ecossystem, but, if it makes you feel better, we are NOT causing any harm lore-wise. Hell, hunters can even help the environment, since they also hunt invasive species like the Deviljho. Still, I would definitely not be a hunter if I lived in this world. Dangerous or not, these are majestic creatures and I would feel terrible about killing them.
What we had seen? the snack she eat with is ration, the Nitroshroom is a combustible flare, physical item Sonic bomb, How Pitfall trap was made and really works. GREAT WAYS OF HUNTING TOOLS! :)
i feel bad for all the new hunters asking all these questions and acting like they are veterans because they started with tri. worst of all it hurts when i see newer players say disrespectful things, questioning things about monster hunter (that those of us who have played since the first us release and some even went all the way and played the Japanese versions out of dedication) have known to be a tradition with the games and the lore. i dont mean just on this video. ever since 3 ultimate, most the monster hunter videos i see get these kind of comments .-. its not that i blame them, they are new, and still learning, we were all newat one point, still hard on the hunter within to see

You can't be mean or abrasive to the new players though, I myself played the PS2 Monster Hunter but found it to be too slow, too bland for my liking. When Tri came out online play was available to me so Monster Hunter suddenly 'clicked' in my mind. Even now after playing MH4 the older games feel like a step backwards, I feel so nailed to the ground when I play. Tri is going to be the start of Monster Hunter for a lot of players and rightly so, they fixed hit boxes and really refined the art style. MH3U added even more options for new players like having base 50 defence and every weapon type in your box from the start of the game. These additions are great because Monster Hunter isn't fun if only a handful of people are playing it. I'd love to see a future where Monster Hunter is just as large a cultural phenomenon as Call Of Duty or FIFA and the only way we're going to get there is by making sure veterans are helpful and supportive of new players. Monster Hunter is a complex game and the thousands of hours one player puts into it should be a boon to the 100 or so greenhorns who just picked up the game without prior knowledge.

I played the first Monster Hunter on PSP for 2 years and it was more challenging than the new ones, maybe because they toned down the monsters a bit on the newer versions, but yeah, MH1 (as I call it) is slow.
Capcom cold probably make a game that actually played like this video if they bothered to make a proper installment for the PS4. Too bad that'll never happen.
Really liked this series wish it would come back to the Playstation Consoles and maybe allow play across all systems. But I'm not going to buy a video game system I wasn't already planning on buying just for a game. I can respect that's where Capcom wanted to level the series. but it would have been nice to bring something to the fans that had bought all the previous iterations before moving off.
I understand that you and many others want a MH title on Sony systems and frankly that is something good because it means people out here do in fact want more MH. Unfortunately that is not something CAPCOM can fix just like that. The fact of the matter is that Sony is at fault, not CAPCOM. The last title on Sony systems was Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in Japan for PS3 and PSP but that never came out here in the West. This was due to Sony placing restrictions and wanting to end relations with Capcom over the series. In the end, Capcom is a business so when they see a possible loss in profits they search for the better alternative, in this case being Nintendo who has so far had no issues with the series and is even hard at work providing collaborations with its own IPs (Link Armor, Mario/Luigi Cat armor, Animal Crossing..etc.). Right now, the best course of action that us as customers and consumers should be doing is demanding a return of the series in Sony consoles to Sony itself, they are the ones who refused to continue carrying over the series, not CAPCOM.
with the current sale rates of the vita though, i would have thought that they would try all they could to give it big games, and it would run way better than on a 3ds

I am a psp monster hunter freedom unite veteran. I racked over 2000 hours and had every piece of armor and every weapon. Every monster hunter since then other then the Japanese MH frontier on the 360 has been a joke. I look forward to this new monster hunter it will be nice to be able to play online with others rather then solo everything.
The 3DS is the second fastest 8th gen system and has the largest install base of any 8th gen system as well. Put the pieces of the puzzle together and...you got your reason.
Sony refuse to fund it, and Microsoft refuse to take a risk, Nintendo is the last MH supporter and even in the PS2 era it was never about Graphic capabilities

I love how you get a glimpse into the lives of hunters; capcom does a great job using cinematics with no dialogue here. Each hunter shown here has a distinct personality despite being unnamed, unimportant (aside from the intro) characters.
I'm pretty new to the series- I've only played 3 and 3u (3ds)- but I've been excited about this title since before there even was any notion of it coming stateside. Mostly because I hadn't had the chance to fight alongside more than one hunter. I can't wait for online multi!!!
You should look up the intro for MHFU (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite), it also shows some interesting background stuff going on like the process of making armor.

although I gotta say, even though seregios doesn't create nearly as much of an "oh shit!" feeling as deviljho, the pinecone face is far more aggravating to have in the same area.
The idea of an overnight hunt would be pretty cool to me. The monster is too far for the guild to send you directly there so your hunting party hikes out to the location of the camp. Take the night prior to the hunt to get supplies, scout out the area, and stet up base camp. Then the next morning set out and find the rally point where the monster is expected to be.
+Hannibal Hyde that would be totally boring imo. spending loads of time walking to place instead of actually dropping you into the fight. and scouting the area would be redundant too because they use an area system and most players have the layout memorized.

This game is just way too addictive, I love building the armor sets and weapons and upgrading them as well as how the variety of boss monsters attack and react to things. The perfect balance of difficulty and the fluidity of online gameplay makes this a must buy on the 3DS!

So... let me tell you the reason why Vita is not selling: Because he is not needed.
You don't see a game on the Vita and say "OMG I NEED TO GET THAT CONSOLE!", and then, you go search for the game on the internet and, bang, it's on PS3 and PS4 too, great! And then you go deeper, searching for even more information and you get a amazing, incredible discovery about it:
There is pretty much not a single big difference about each version, not even one reason to go and say "I have to purchase this shit because it has a lot of things different than the other ones" (See: Super Smash Bros U for the contrary.)
And then, you go searching for another game, a game that is from a HUGE franchise, and when you get the results, they say "omg, this game is great, you need to buy it, it's a must have" and all of this thing, and then you get a reason to buy the handheld. (see: Pokemon, for this EXACT effect on neutral gamers or new persons that want to buy a handheld.)

Reminds me of the Monster Hunter 2 intro where the hunters are fighting the Blongonga. The Monster Hunter G intro cinematic is my favorite of them all and it always sparks an ember of inspiration in my soul when I watch it. I hate Capcom for moving to Nintendo but I love them at the same time for continuing to do such a damn good job making this franchise. Us veteran hunters fell in love with the Sony generation but these Nintendo titles are still awesome. I bought a Wii U *just* for MH3U and I'll be getting a 3DS *just* for this game. February needs to get here faster!

Aside from my earlier comment I have to say I just love these kinds of intros that show all the prep work leading up to the hunt and even bits of the hunt and how well the Hunters have a personality without any dialog we can understand or any at all sometimes. I wish they made this into a video series, animated or CGI like this I don't care, it would be AWESOME. Every time I see one of these intros I can't help but watch them over and over again to see if I pick up some new little thing I didn't notice before.

I think that was the first time I have ever seen a few things happen in a trailer for MH; like combining materials, seeing parts break off, setting up for the trap and finally... what cool drinks look like! I am so hyped for this game, it has a ton of potential (despite all the talk about graphics) and hope to play it soon!

Is anyone going to comment the fact that while these Hunters are fighting a Cephadrome, a Diablos and a Seregios --- your Hunter is kicking back relaxing as you and your caravan went their separate ways for a time after all the things you dealt with like uncovering the secrets to the Frenzy Virus: fighting the evolved state of the Gore Magala: defeating the Apex Seregios and a Crimson Fatalis while you had protected Dundorama from a Rusted Kushala Daora.
I know it's not in the proper order but you get the idea. Also, I know MH is inconsistent due to the fact is doesn't have a canon story-line but we all got to admit that MH4/Ultimate has the greatest story where you were just an up-coming Hunter ready to sign up to the Hunter Guild only to get yourself caught up in facing against a Dah'ren Mohran and join alongside the treasure hunter the Caravaneer in the most life-changing adventures ever.
I would think and believe that each of the five generations were set in different time periods. The events did happen, but not at the same time. Twenty-five years leading up to one-hundred twenty-five years after and all that leads up to the New World.
So now what? They shut down the wiiU version? I hope not... Capcom needs to keep this series online longer and they need to pick a platform and stick with it! I've fuckin chased this game from PS2, to PSP... to Wii, to WiiU and now to DS! PICK A FUCKING PLATFORM!

***** The Wii u version wasn't a port. The 3DS and Wii U one were being developed at the same time, it's just an improvement over Monster Hunter Tri on the Nintendo Wii.
They aren't gonna shut down the Wii U version's servers from what I've seen. And the 3DS is the smartest platform for capcom to stick it on right now because the 3DS is currently the best selling console in japan right now by far. Monster Hunter is also booming right now in Japan. So it wouldn't be in their best interest to have it on another console.

Did you know that, according to the game lore, hunting is actually extremely regulated by the Hunter's Guild? Hunters don't get to hunt dozens of monsters for their equipment, oh no: that's just for gameplay's sake. Hunters usually only get to hunt one monster of each species and poaching is punishable by death. There are actually very few hunters around; not only to prevent over-hunting but also because it's, obviously, not a job for everyone. High and G-Rank hunters are even more uncommon.
I can definitely agree that it feels like we are destroying the entire ecossystem, but, if it makes you feel better, we are NOT causing any harm lore-wise. Hell, hunters can even help the environment, since they also hunt invasive species like the Deviljho. Still, I would definitely not be a hunter if I lived in this world. Dangerous or not, these are majestic creatures and I would feel terrible about killing them.

i feel bad for all the new hunters asking all these questions and acting like they are veterans because they started with tri. worst of all it hurts when i see newer players say disrespectful things, questioning things about monster hunter (that those of us who have played since the first us release and some even went all the way and played the Japanese versions out of dedication) have known to be a tradition with the games and the lore. i dont mean just on this video. ever since 3 ultimate, most the monster hunter videos i see get these kind of comments .-. its not that i blame them, they are new, and still learning, we were all newat one point, still hard on the hunter within to see

You can't be mean or abrasive to the new players though, I myself played the PS2 Monster Hunter but found it to be too slow, too bland for my liking. When Tri came out online play was available to me so Monster Hunter suddenly 'clicked' in my mind. Even now after playing MH4 the older games feel like a step backwards, I feel so nailed to the ground when I play.
Tri is going to be the start of Monster Hunter for a lot of players and rightly so, they fixed hit boxes and really refined the art style. MH3U added even more options for new players like having base 50 defence and every weapon type in your box from the start of the game. These additions are great because Monster Hunter isn't fun if only a handful of people are playing it. I'd love to see a future where Monster Hunter is just as large a cultural phenomenon as Call Of Duty or FIFA and the only way we're going to get there is by making sure veterans are helpful and supportive of new players. Monster Hunter is a complex game and the thousands of hours one player puts into it should be a boon to the 100 or so greenhorns who just picked up the game without prior knowledge.

I played the first Monster Hunter on PSP for 2 years and it was more challenging than the new ones, maybe because they toned down the monsters a bit on the newer versions, but yeah, MH1 (as I call it) is slow.
Capcom cold probably make a game that actually played like this video if they bothered to make a proper installment for the PS4. Too bad that'll never happen.

Really liked this series wish it would come back to the Playstation Consoles and maybe allow play across all systems. But I'm not going to buy a video game system I wasn't already planning on buying just for a game. I can respect that's where Capcom wanted to level the series. but it would have been nice to bring something to the fans that had bought all the previous iterations before moving off.

I understand that you and many others want a MH title on Sony systems and frankly that is something good because it means people out here do in fact want more MH. Unfortunately that is not something CAPCOM can fix just like that. The fact of the matter is that Sony is at fault, not CAPCOM. The last title on Sony systems was Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in Japan for PS3 and PSP but that never came out here in the West. This was due to Sony placing restrictions and wanting to end relations with Capcom over the series. In the end, Capcom is a business so when they see a possible loss in profits they search for the better alternative, in this case being Nintendo who has so far had no issues with the series and is even hard at work providing collaborations with its own IPs (Link Armor, Mario/Luigi Cat armor, Animal Crossing..etc.).
Right now, the best course of action that us as customers and consumers should be doing is demanding a return of the series in Sony consoles to Sony itself, they are the ones who refused to continue carrying over the series, not CAPCOM.
with the current sale rates of the vita though, i would have thought that they would try all they could to give it big games, and it would run way better than on a 3ds

I am a psp monster hunter freedom unite veteran. I racked over 2000 hours and had every piece of armor and every weapon. Every monster hunter since then other then the Japanese MH frontier on the 360 has been a joke. I look forward to this new monster hunter it will be nice to be able to play online with others rather then solo everything.

Because Monster Hunter is very popular in Japan and the Nintendo 3DS is the best selling console in Japan ^^
The 3DS is the second fastest 8th gen system and has the largest install base of any 8th gen system as well. Put the pieces of the puzzle together and...you got your reason.

I understand your points guys but in my opinion I would much rather play this on a PS4 or PC. Handhelds are kind of useless to me.
Edmundo studios Monster Hunter Frontier is on PC. But it hasn't been localized.

Sony refuse to fund it, and Microsoft refuse to take a risk, Nintendo is the last MH supporter and even in the PS2 era it was never about Graphic capabilities

This is certainly shaping up to be one of the best MH games, period. Coming in as a long time Veteran, I can say whole heartedly this. SHUT UP AND RELEASE MH4U ALREADY CAPCOM. I will buy it, and everything to do with it. THE HYPE.

man...they are always make insane trailer, in insane grpahics..but in the actual game...the graphics are insane no progress
