As a fellow québécois can’t get enough of Matteo Murphy - his influence is everywhere in the MTL electro scene. So nice you’re universe collided. Lache pas Liam 😊
I swear you drop the perfect video every time I need it 😅 been going back and forth on which elektron box to buy and recently set my sights on the digitone but was curious if it could do drums well then you drop this video haha super helpful!
totally agree, i ended up using Digitone 1 for drums (FM drums cut through the mix very well), also Digitone 1 has the best elektron sequencers with it’s arpeggiator and chord mode are insanely good to improvise live.
The harmonics control on the digitone actually isnt using any FM, it’s just sweeping through a series of sine waves added to the fundamental frequency like additive synthesis. I’m pretty sure the way they implemented it was as a wavetable though, but the waveforms have a max of 16 harmonics
Hearing "the bigger boxes are easier" (or words to that effect) has me wonder if they'll ever make an Analog Four sized FM synth. Such would be rather lovely ^_^
I think in a couple years ( depending on updates ) i'll get into the DT II/ DN II world but I'm honestly still happy with my 1st gens. especially now that I have the OT for stereo /chops. Great set up and tips though guys.
The "preset patterns" of the TT-303 are actually not preset patterns. The TT-303 has randomize algorithms (various styles) and comes from the factory with patterns it just generated randomly.
I need to stop being poor! Or maybe find a job at a music store. Thanks Liam for the content. I love when u invite those people!
Yeah it’s an expensive hobby / profession for sure.
Thanks for being here!
Nice setup there! Digitone 2 is a guaranteed classic for many years to come, absolute powerhouse in pretty much every way!
I gotta borrow it to try out for a bit 😏

Oh cool ! Thanks for adding this in :-)

Elektron for dayz baybay
I'm not into performance. I'll just be in my lil' studio. I appreciated this nonetheless. Thanks!
Appreciate you ! Yeah I’m somewhere between performance + production

I'm sure they're up to something to that effect haha.
or maybe i'm completely wrong lol
What do you think of the digitone 2? Worth the upgrade?
I haven't tried it enough to give a straight answer on this !

First gen Digitakt 2 is still dope IMO.
Cool Vid. Great sounds. NB. The Syntakt Analog VCO is the best 303 available right now.
Yeah Mateo’s got his tones absolutely dialed in

Oh very cool - thanks for filling this in !
Similar set-up: I got a BCR2000 and works great.
Haven’t checked that one yet!
