Very nice looking plant. I was laughing to myself on the “threatening with the axe” bit, reminded me of my mum telling me I need to tell off my plants when they’re acting up
@@dougs_urbanfarm haha I wish that was true 😂😂, in our climate with all the rain I can literally see the grass grow 😂😂, I have to mow the lawn every week 😂😂
looks like nice shape genes, any idea what it was a seedling of and where it came from? aurea has a similar shape. maybe they are just super young but the color and texture look unique for a canistel? ross sapotes have a similar color and texture to yours when the fruit is developing, wonder if u possibly have some hybrid genetics.
Looking great, great fruit set. Thanks for sharing Doug, your food forest is looking great!
Cheers Johnny, as the years go by, it's starting to turn into a jungle!
Fingers crossed gor ours this year, five years waiting this far and flowers profusely every year. Hoping this is the time! Yours looks healthy as!
The more I eat of these, the more I like them.
@dougs_urbanfarm yep, I know what you mean!

Your mum knows how to talk to plants!
Fascinating to see young fruits developing, I've heard they take 12 months ?
Yeah Brett it's like watching grass grow.

Was a Daley's nursery seedling, so not sure what the parent is.
Nice one, I love canistel too. How old is the tree?
This one is 6 to 7 years old
A bit off topic mate, do you grow ume plums?
No ume plums here
Canistel is excellent. When those develop real nice and you get to taste them and if it's really delicious got to get some graft wood for sure yo lol
Yeah mate , underrated fruit imo.
Great work. It looks like a jungle! Especially that tree
Cheers Paul, I want to get a 'Welcome to the jungle' sign for the gate, written in 80s rock band writing.
It has certainly responded to the threats 😂
It knows I wasn't bluffing Neil!
love it
that's awesome mate
Cheers Gareth
I use the threat with an axe 🪓 too. Works well 😅. Congrats on fruit.
Yeah G it's amazing how that works, maybe they do understand us!
