Love the way you operate! Great to be able to do side by side of so many subtropical stone fruit varieties! The gulf plum cultivars have been an aha moment for me re actually being able to get AMAZING stone fruit outside of temperate zones. The flordagold sounds the go, as does the peachcot (I had one gifted to me years ago which I promptly killed with neglect). Will have to watch this a few more times to get to grips with them all 😂 thanks for this!
They are all way better than anything store bought. We've been eating stonefruit for a month, given some away to family and I have pressure canned 20 quart jars to eat during winter next year. Still have tons to pick.
@dougs_urbanfarm when it rains it pours! Speaking of, you have any issues like Marty's garden with veg blight or fungal stuff/powdery mildew after the storms?
@thegardenlikesdad not really, we've had a shitload of rain 300mm this month but I am up high on a hill with a slope so airflow is pretty good. I've lost some stonefruit due to it rotting on the trees, but when you have thousands of fruit a hundred or so falling off doesn't really matter
@@dougs_urbanfarm True that. Location sounds ideal for it! The way you're talking really makes me want to get into the stone fruit a bit more! Planning more espalier near our veg beds anyway, but more motivated now, thanks :)
Great collection and very well maintained trees. I have China Flat Peach and Sunracer Nectarine here in Sydney. So easy to grow (hard part is to control the growth).
Very impressed you can grow stone fruit there Doug, i genuinely thought it might have been slightly too warm for them in Winter to go dormant properly 👍
Netting.? I have a few stone fruit in pots at the moment as I get my grounds mulched and ready to plant out next winter. I bought me a Dwarf peach off a lady the other day, although the fruit has fly already. I'm looking forward to having them covered next season. Thanks for showing all the varieties that can grow up here in Brisbane. Can you suggest any growers in the Brisbane area that sell any of these varieties I'm in the market please.?
Hey mate I do net all the trees, these are ryset tree formed nets. My mate Jez at Jezs seedlings in anala has some of these varieties and will get stuff in if you request it, otherwise I order online from Daley's nursery or Ross Creek nursery and get them sent.
Good job!
What lovely healthy looking trees and fruit. Much love and blessings :)
Thanks freespirit, I've been canning peaches and peachcots to enjoy next winter.

I was never able to fruit Florida peach in Florida 😂 good looking trees!
That's a shame they are very nice.

Yeah Desi they need so much pruning!

There are so many low chill ones now Brett, it's awesome to be able to grow everything from stonefruit to soursop!
Great video Doug, great fruit production, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Johnny
Nice trees. almost braking branches I love it!
That's what I love about stone fruit - they are heavy fruiters!

Live in North Brisbane. Would love to grow more fruit but need advice. Is there a club you mentioned on another clip to join. Thank you
Yes the subtropic fruit club of Queensland, next meeting is 12th of December at 6pm at Albion peace centre.
Can messag me at Doug hanning on fb
Everybody has sold out of Floridaprince! Jeez... and the tropic beauty! Looks like most of the better varieties are gone right now.
I'll check if my mate Jez has any.
@@dougs_urbanfarm Cheers mate.
Wow Doug amazing
You have millions of peaches 😅
These ones weren't touched by a man in a factory downtown.😁
I live in Indonesia. Do you think i can grow peach here?
I don't think so, they still need some chill. We get down to 5deg Celsius in winter here.
