- A whole bunch of variations of bass lines for a blues shuffle. Both major and minor feel bass lines. Though many of the minor feel lines can also be played alongside 7th and 9th chords and still work.
Robin, thank you so much for this video! I honestly don't know why artists like you expose yourself to the mindless haters who troll TH-cam, but I, for one, am quite happy you have made the effort! Not withstanding the comments of the erudite trolls, I have found your video very helpful, and would encourage you to continue producing these instructional gems. To echo what someone else has said, it is very difficult to find such information for bass on the internet, and it is greatly appreciated!
i just want to thank you so very much for this lesson. for whatever reason, it's extremely hard to find vids of basic blues bass runs on youtube. i finally found yours, and it is excellent, it's exactly what i've been looking for. i've already begun creating my own variations from what you present here. i am actually a guitar player, i was thrown off a bit by the fifth string of your bass at first, i never realized the extra string was on top! needless to say once that's figured out it's easy to adapt your lesson to regular guitar. anyway, thank you for taking the time to make this video and posting it. the wankers who complain about fret buzz or flat this sharp that are just that, wankers. pay them no mind. thanks again and cheers!
Thank you for breaking these down, just learning the 12 bars blues, so helpful!!
Much appreciation for this entire playlist!
Just picked up a used electric bass-learning, these help.
Again, thank you.
Nice Channel.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO I REALLY NEEDED THAT FOR SURE. I HAVE A REAL PROBLEM PLAYING RUNS AND THIS REALLY HELPS THANKS AGAIN
amazing color you bring to the grooves. Now easier to bring fancy variations to the gig.

Great lessons Robin, loved your bass playing for years now. Looking forward to seeing more :)
Great video Gutbucket really informative! I appreciate it! It's amazing how many people find something to complain about regardless of what you do! (fret buzz) come on viewers this video is very helpful!
I like the descending line at 5:10 most, this is what I have been looking for a long time. Thanks. Monster Bass though , Ernie Ball Big Al. I never could get it. I have a Sterling V H S , great too.
For our school project we had to write a blues song, this helped so much!
good tip.. it give the idea to open up to a new level
Liked that last one.
Thanks Robin. Just what I needed. Great lesson. Good to see the variations. I tend to do a lot of what you do working within the chord and the passing notes. Mind you I have had been uncertain and you confirmed I was on the correct path be it a little wobbly. Cheers!
Awesome thats for these
Awesome video! Thank you for doing this! Just what I needed!

Good Job! Helps a lot. Thanks!
nice
Appreciated, thank you!
loved video ! keep it up man!
In the key of A there is no D flat. However there is a key call C sharp. In the key of a there are
the fret buzz is killin me
Great video!
Great lesson, great bass, thank you!
Don't listen these angry buzz guys. Heeey, you are watching bass lesson!? Of course you should be ready for the buzz. So much sensitive persons %))
awesome video man
very good, that what i surch for, excuse my bad english :)
Nice Big Al
Excellent video m8! Incidentally, what is the blues tune at the intro? Sounds great.
If I'm not mistaken, your last example is in a different time signature, 6/8 I believe.
Thanks!
When you play in A there are no flats. Db should be referred to as C#.
And use a 4 string for lessons to reach a greater audience
helpful, thx :) advice if I might ... get a louder sound for your bass-guitar, blug it .... the rest is very good
Minor point (pun unintended), C# is the spelling in the key of A not Db.
Many blues bands feature an enharmonica
I really wish he was playing a 4 string definitely throwing off my eyes
There are no flat notes, like Bb or Gb, in the key A.
I wish you could demonstrate with a 4 string?
Great lesson. What's the name of the tune at the beginning?
What is the name off youre intro song? Good video.
your 5 string is confusing me!
What is the name off youre title song or group?
Very informative but PLUG IN!
How do yu play bass line for tab Benoit-I smell a rat
plug it in, cant hear it
ça frise.... action trop basse?
why
Turn up that volume man. Sounds like it's not even amplified
Why use a 5 string for a 4 string lesson ? That does not make much sense.
Nice name?!?!?...ewww
Not very clean playing/sound...
