Launch Vtube studio and put your headpat item on
Create a new item scene with that item
Make a new hotkey with your item scene
MIX IT UP
New streamer link your twitch acc
Create new twitch channel redeem
Add action as vtube studio - run hot key - vtuber model - headpat
Make sure overlay link is copied in settings

Add browser source
Paste mix it up overlay url

Thank you for the guide, really thorough and easy to understand. I added a Wait 60 sec command in MixItUp, and then the same hotkey command so that the effect only stays for 1 min instead of indefinitely
Glad it worked! At 2:45 you should be able to let it stop after 60 seconds automatically right in vtube studio ^^ just scroll down and adjust the “stop after sec.”

i also have a question but its only related to vtube studio ¿do you know how to remove the flying akari thats in the background? because i recently instaled it and i dont know how to remove it ;;^;;
So that is vtube studios watermark! In order to get rid of it you need to go to steam and pay the extra dlc to have it removed.
I would recommend buying the dlc to support the makers -but- if you go to obs you can crop out the left side and just keep your model on the right lol
it said "Vtube Studio not connection, please ensure the softwere is running and is connected on the service page" when i add action on Mix It Up how to i fix that i follow all the tutorial and my vtube still on

is there anyway to have mixitup still work while not having to just have the program open and running while you run obs? im worried it might slow my stream down
You have to have mix it up fully logged in and running while streaming, yes. But if it's only to run a few redeems it might not slow it down that much as you think.
Hey great guide but why do I need to add an overlay into the streaming software if we are sending the command to vtube studio?
Oh! Honestly, you're right 🤣🤣You don't -need- to create an overlay but I use mix it up for other functions like putting alerts/videos/other redeems on screen that requires it or to amplify your vtube studio toggles. Ex: You'll need an overlay if you want to add an audio with one of your vtube studio commands

Go into services and connect VTube Studio. You can do that by hitting the hamburger.
Go to the three lines in Mix it up!
Then go down to Services!
Then lots of blue lines will pop up with names!
Go down and press Vstudio! Then connect!

Its not working for me sadly. I have asset wings on my character model but when i set up the headpat, it doesnt show up when channel point is redeemed.
so i have everything setup when i test the redeem on mix it up it works but when i do it through twitch it doesnt any clue what it could be?

Under mix it up, right where you made the command to the first model, just add another vtube studio button under the same command! Just choose the next model you want right under your first command. I do this for all my models and makes these so much simpler c:

I'm having a little bit of trouble. The headpat won't stop; I've seen a few people in the comments having the same issue. I have the scene set up, with the Hotkey Settings as follows:
Fade for sec. 0.5
Stop after sec. 8 (toggled on)
Random Iem in Scene (toggled off)
Even after the eight seconds are up, the headpat is still active, and for the life of me I can't figure it out...
Nevermind, I was able to figure it out. I set my hotkey as NUM5, and in order to cancel the headpat I needed to hit the hotkey again. Once I connected it to my twitch redeem, I didn't need the hotkey anymore.

How do I do it with the googly eyes? It doesn't pop up since it's not a png. I tried just dropping the whole file in the items file for streaming assets but it didn't work. The file only has 'JSON' and 'MOC3' files. Please help
So the process would work the same way. If it’s a png or gif you can move that right into the items folder. If it’s a live 2D file, you have to drop the entire googly eye folder into the item folder, restart vtube studio and it should be in there. Hope this helps!

Yeah, at the end of the day I have like 3 other programs on top of vtube studio it's a hassle. ;; But thats why I try to condense as much as I can with mix it up cause you can add sound alerts and video stuff on there as well!

The overlay is required if you use other mix it up options. For example you can do a lot more than just headpats. You can set up sound/video/ alerts and a lot of stuff like that. :) But yes, it does work without the overlay ONLY if you just use the vtube studio pop ups! :D

Yes! So you can add multiple actions per command. So in this case go to:
Twitch channel points > create new channel point reward > Action is "Vtuber studio" > Add another action "Sound"
You can import your own sounds or videos during your redeem!

@@rsjune you’re in the vtube studio action. On the bottom of the window where you added the vtube studio action, scroll through all the options and add the sound one! In vtube studio go down to the head pat redeem you made and scroll down on the card to the right until you see “hot key settings” you can toggle a function on or off to “stop after x amount of seconds”

Where you add the hotkey in vtube studio if you scrool down on the card there is an option to set a timer for how long you want it to stay up! Then it will go away once the time is up. Hope this helps! c:
How about a tutorial for nose/snoot boops?
So this would work the same exact way as long as you find an asset that is a snoot or boop ^^

Im using this with the hammer and for what ever reason the hammer wont go away after the redeem is made
Under the key toggle page you can scroll down and set a timer for it to fade away
What if I don't have a vtuber model..?
this would be great with regular webcam, I don't watch vtubers personally it's a bit strange to me.
You can do something simular! Instead of having a vtuber and using a facecam, you don't need vtube studio. Just go to mix it up and grab a gif of a headpat and position it where ever your face cam normally is!

No problem!
First I would close out of all three programs completely. Vtube studio, obs and mix it up. You should so this by opening task manager and close them there to be sure they are not running in your background.
Open up vtube studio first, then mix it up, then obs. Log in like normal.
There should be a pop up window in vtube studio to connect with Mix it up when you first run it again. Also, in mix it up, be sure to go to the settings tab, under overlays, and copy and paste the overlay link into your obs so it can show there.
If its still not working this way, I don't mind helping you over discord if you ever want to pop in!
i have followed all the rules but the headpat is stuck on my head
In the hot key tab scroll down and you can set a timer for it to turn off
My items don’t more with my model. 😢
Try double clicking them over your model to make sure it’s pinned on there
@@demythical I was doing that. For some weird reason it wasn’t working but after doing a discord screen share with a fellow VTuber it started to pin to the hair but nowhere else.

Super informative! Is vtubestudio absolutely necessary? My fiancée uses vseeface instead for her avatar which I don't know if it has additions like that.
