@@kpsayyed84 exactly the thing that I wanted to say, the flow of sound waves was unidirectional and towards mic in case of jbl that’s why it felt lil bit crispy but stormbox produces 3d sound so if you capture it through a mic it may feel muffled with respect to mono channel speakers

I like Tribit more neutral balanced refined sound. I found that when you blast or max out sound if you take the bass off it’s bit louder and clear… not as bright and scratchy as charge, for teenagers JBL for older looking for refined well balanced across all music I go with Tribit. I have xboom, xfree go, flybuds, and the xsound.
couple times done an impromptu small outdoor dance with my pair of Tribit Pro’s. It’s really nice to have the music surround the dancers by putting the speakers about 20 feet apart. Great battery power so you can do ambience dinner music and then switch it up for a dance after. rich clear sound
I'm not sure if I'm my hearing is off, but the little gold JBL speaker sounds great. The Tribit sounds very mono. Maybe it's the bass overriding the notes. I'm listening in with Klipsch 600 system, so I'm definitely not confused lol

Need to break in the speakers!! They come into their own after a 30+ hrs break in! I have 2 stormbox pros and can tell you they are phenomenal sounding speakers!

To me the stormbox pro is better, it might sounds muffle in the video, but I believe it will sound amazing when hear in person, also if you hear it carefully, you will notice that it sounds more spacious due to the speaker driver placement, and overall the sounds is warm and pleasant
Treble sounds really rolled off on the Stormbox Pro. I imagine that's because the tweeters are facing away from you. Curious if it's sending a mono signal to both speakers or splitting into stereo? If it's a mono speaker you'd probably be better off just facing it sideways so at least one of the tweeter/midrange drivers is facing you. It also has some sort of a cupped hand muffled sound to it.
I bought an old high-end Harman Kardan stereo from the early 90s with same age bose speakers (it’s a substantial unit with preamp, amp…etc) ….the sound quality is unparalleled by anything sold today until you get into the boutique stuff. It’s puzzling how much the words “good” and “really good” referring to sound quality is so inaccurately used. Truthfully…the sound quality is garbage (today’s bluetooth stuff). Not a little bad…but like AM radio bad in comparison. It’s analogous to watching video in 360p.
I appreciate the video it made me hold on to my 2 JBL extreme I was just about to get the tribit but honestly I see absolutely no reason to do so after watching this video thanks mate.

Thanks for this video! Exactly the comparison what I needed. Tbh..not sure about real-life listening, but from the recording it already may seem the tronsmart is surpassing the tribit. It may go loud but I almost feel the oumph better from the tronsmart. The extreme2 does feel much more embodied as well! I think for its formfactor the tribit is really is nice as they could have fitted inside. But I do think the is a risk getting it and somewhat am convinced that the soundcore sound better for the money. At a smaller flip like formfactor, and the price id probably go for the regular stormbox. Or really go big formfactor. Thanks for all the hardwork comparing and creating these much appreciated vids!

If I go by the video I have to say the JBL has a much more pleasing sound. But people need to keep in mind that how these sound in person is greatly different than watching a video review. Video reviews aren't even accurate for speaker tests because 1) We're hearing the speakers as interpreted by whatever microphone was being used, not the speakers themselves 2) Not only are we hearing a microphone recording of the speakers, we're also hearing that recording being played through our own speakers, and not the bluetooth speakers themselves.

I love all the ear bud reviews, and have come to trust all your opinions but now I need more bt speaker comparisons 😄 ... covering the lesser known online brands which often rate better than the big names, and even the bad ones too. One specific brand I come across as available in Australia but can't find many/reliable reviews is the Sonitrek XL Go and their smaller options 🤞and of course some of the new soundcore stuff (motion Q and motion Boost)
If I am to take your words literally, saying that a speakers sound is pretty decent, tells me that either the speaker is just ok, reliable but nothing that will overly impress me. However your tone is emphasizing the impressive overall quality of the product.

Does the 1 Stormbox Pro play in stereo (separate left and right channels, one for each speaker/transducer)? or does it mix-down both channels to one and play it on both speakers/transducers?
The full range drivers on the Tribit are facing out from sides. I don't care how they're designed, I'm turning the speakers so that one of the drivers face me
I'm not getting any audio, even though it's connected and I can adjust the volume with the phone. Tried a factory reset, but no difference. Any ideas? I'm using a Galaxy S21. My little JBL still works fine. UPDATE: Tribit confirmed it's a defective unit. They responded to my online form inquiry within 8 hours. An exchange is shipping. Impressive customer service.
I might need that s bad boy. I need a loud Bluetooth speaker to blast Slayer when my neighbor blasts loud ass Mexican music at 12am and wakes my wife up.
From what I heard through your tests was that though the stormbox was louder, its mids were muted... badly, highs were non existant, unfortunately I was listening through speakers that don't have bass to even hear that. The others all had crisp clear highs, clear loud mids, again couldn't make out much bass. But everything sounded better then the stormbox. In fact the stormbox sounded like total garbage and what good is loud garbage? Or was the super bass causing the mic to record badly? Update: just re-listened through high quality headphones for the bass and still, while the stormbox had louder bass it wasn't as clear as the competition, so its sound just seems muddy all around. While the others sound more like you are there with the band and not just listening to them through cheap speakers.
And the Xtreme 2 goes to 40 watts but it only activates when it's plugged because the xtreme2 on its battery it only outputs 20 watts and its already as loud as the stormbox pro so when the Xtreme 2 will be plugged it will sound so much louder than the stormbox pro

It’s gonna sound like that when your recording from a lav or shotgun mic it just gives you a rough draft or idea how powerful it could be

Try facing stormbox pro sidewards, highs and mids will be better.

Yes it's louder but the jbl charge 4 and Xtreme 2 has much higher bass and good highs mids and lows and the stormbox pro is a little bit muffled

100% you get a rough idea but in person is the deciding factor
The JBL Charge 4 sounds much better. It's not even close. Charge - expansive clear sound. Stormbox - loud and muffled. StormBox is louder, that's it.

Was gonna buy the JBL before I read a bunch of people comments who have one talking about it messing up after a while.
All of my JBL speakers have had no issues even my flip 4 from almost 5 years back. They can still have issues though this goes with any brand

In fact the stormbox sounded like total garbage and what good is loud garbage? Or was the super bass causing the mic to record badly?
Update: just re-listened through high quality headphones for the bass and still, while the stormbox had louder bass it wasn't as clear as the competition, so its sound just seems muddy all around. While the others sound more like you are there with the band and not just listening to them through cheap speakers.

And the Xtreme 2 goes to 40 watts but it only activates when it's plugged because the xtreme2 on its battery it only outputs 20 watts and its already as loud as the stormbox pro so when the Xtreme 2 will be plugged it will sound so much louder than the stormbox pro

@@pickyaudio yes but for its price the stormbox pro is better it's cheap and its very loud compared to other speakers so when if you're a budget the stormbox pro is a better choice 🙂

I am using a dindinmodern bluetooth speaker, which I think is very good at the price I bought.
The storm box sounds like you are under water to me. I was just listening not watching and as soon as you switched to the JBL it sounded much crisper.
Yea it goes loud but doesn’t sound that great overall
