Addiction to coke is no joke. It keeps a strong hold on you. For her to publicly announce her demons is a major step toward recovery even with the relapses eventually you see that the addiction and the high will always lead you down to rock bottom, dead, in jail, or homeless not being able to afford the habit.

Cocaine makes you an extrovert. I know from experience. I am naturally an introverted person and when I have experimented with cocaine it made me the life of the party. I actually like being sociable and confident. When I am sober I am socially awkward. It bothers me but then I look at it like "that's who I am and always have been" I should be proud of who I am. I have noticed getting older naturally increases your ability to be sociable with less anxiety. At least that's how it's been for me.

My boyfriend was a heroin addict, he overdosed once, ambulance was called and he was given narcan, but he was not charged. I'm not sure about other states, but in my state about two weeks after he overdosed they made it a law that you can be arrested for having it in your system. Personally I think that's a great thing but being a sober person around hardcore addicts I know that even several months in jail will not make them stop. It's sad but true...
