I get criticism all the time for not doing “traditional” filmmaking. I get told I’m not a real filmmaker because my films don’t always have complex character development ect. Was feeling pretty discouraged this week. This video was just what I needed. Great work… keep it up Sam!
Here from PM. Dude keep crushing it in life and you will be exactly where you want always. Amen to the five people around you. Changed that years ago and it literally changed my life for the best!! Stay blessed Sam
My entire life changed after watching your my year video 2018. I didn't know anything about filmmaking, TH-cam, video nothing. I always took photos and video but I didn't know how I loved doing that. I've never imagined of people make a living out of creating videos even at the time people were doing that. And I watched your video even it was a complete cliche video, I didn't felt like that and that video changed my life. I was watching like "man is this real can people live like this and I entered into another world. You are like to me how sam kolder was to you man. I'm really glad that I found you man ❤️ love you always
This is what I needed today. Since I've found your channel you've earned my respect and admiration, these tips feel right. Honestly, mentioning that your skills have been a decade in the making reminded me the most important thing: "art is long but life is short" I often feel like I'm just supposed to be good at things straight away and if I can't be on this level straight off, why even try? It's a bad mentality to have. In 2015 I went back to college for film making with no other intent than to make better TH-cam videos and now I'm 6 years in the making, my skills and knowledge has vastly improved, but I still have so much to learn. Thank you for just being you and sharing your journey, dude. Maru Mori.
Sam, when I first saw your PM prodigy vid I thought this guy is trying to hard, but the more I watch the more I realize you aren't. You were having some fun and did an excellent job of it. Love the vids and such a good story telling. Something to aspire too.
I never even knew I enjoyed filming until I started a channel 2 years ago. Now I find it's often consuming my thoughts of ways I can get better. I love your content dude. Thanks for putting it out there 👍
Sam looks like Shia LaBeouf - just do it! Loved this mate. I started my channel thinking it was going to be easier, that things wouldnt be this slow, however I have since shifted my ideas of success and if I can inspire others through my channel and have them tell me that in public (which they do) it makes it all worthwhile! Keep on doing you Sam! PS, just got a drone as a present for my 30th, so get ready for some creamy content 🤣
I love to see the growth of a “new” big TH-camr again, been checking you out since the hit with the McKinnon music video and you’ve really earned your spot. I’m not too big into travel videos and such but your advise is always good and from the hearth. You never forget where you come from, and I appreciate that because that makes it more real :-) good luck!
I absolutely love this video man!!! And I'm glad you talked about the money thing. Everyone thinks youtubers make SO much money and its just not true and it's really hard work. I am following a similar path were after 2 years I have a successful wedding videography business and allows me to travel, meet other creative and create videos I love. I feel many people want to create for the wrong reasons. I'll admit it was me when I started. After you realize you only need to create for yourself and what you are truly passionate about, that's when the success really hits. I appreciate these types of videos so much. And you honestly do look like a more creamy version of ole Shia. Keep creating man. Also love your new office space!!!!
Great video!! Freedom of time is everything! And creativity, keep telling interesting stories and chasing your passions. Everything else follows suit 🤙🎞
Hey Sam, I know you won’t be able to read this but I’ve only just graduated from film school and I’ve been stuck on a loop and with this video, just wanna say thank you so much for the inspiration!!! ❤️❤️💗 you are one of the people who I aspire since Peter McKinnon called you out. Keep inspiring and if you need anyone for pre production hmuuuu (not you) everyone else
Every time I see or wear my new turtleneck (arrived today!!) I will think of and be inspired by this message. Thanks Sam! #staycreamy #samlookslikeShiaLaBeouf
Very different! Yet the message speaks to so many out there trying to stay true to who they are, and the stories they want to tell… exciting time to be alive! Thanks for sharing parts of Sam! Truly someone that is a sub-conscious reminder to find your joy in the process and feed that process freely, even when no one is watching… yet. Thanks for Sharing Creampie! Or Creampuff.. you decide
Just the inspirational speech i needed today... I know my motorcycle channel is going to take me places some day, but its hard work when you put in the work as a professional photographer and film maker as i am, and then you get 800 views... But keep pushing, and create what you love! #staycreamy
Love this guy, good stuff! If I can add one more thing that's helped me. Going off of the have creative friends thing, even non creative friends. You never know who's going to come along with an opportunity/connecton to get consistent work off of. The more people you know the more people send you work and that's all you need
Is it just me, or Shia LaBeouf looks like Sam 🧐 Great video! Thank you - and for the little snippets in the end, glad to know I am not the only one mumbling like that too :D
To the point of looking legitimate with a matte box: This year I was shooting video at an event based around a specific branch of the tech industry. I was using a rigged out EOS R6 (with a Cage, Handles, Monitor and Matte Box) and people all the time thought I would take their photos!? It was hilarious! 😂 But it might have been because they usually know me as their photographer. 🤷🏼♂️
still i dont know .. how a guy like you is still underrated dude.. you make super insane inspiring videos. and i can relate to them each frame , each sentence .. thanks for making this video. keep making such things bro. peace n love from goa. india.
Awesome vid Sam! Very inspiring and also informative! I’m in the wedding , local business stage but I know I’ll get to where I want to go if I just keep it up 😤🙏
Absolutely loved this Sam. Thanks form making it brotha 🙏 You're an inspiration to myself and other filmmakers alike. Community is the hardest for me, but it's often because I just don't take the steps to reach out to other creatives. Definitely going to push myself more in that regard.
Really enjoyed this video man, I totally agree with all of these points, but sometimes it's hard to stick with these, especially if the things you like less give you better results in the short term. Need to remind myself every once in a while to play the long term game!

Your humility and kindness is relatable, a service to all those who have similar aspirations. Never lose that, it’s key to your future.

Thank you for sharing❤️
I can’t agree enough, I’m constantly frustrated with how little behind the scenes footage I filmed starting out. Always wishing I had more!
Very motivating.. Thanks for sharing your story and love the blend of beautiful shots. :)
