Grapes are crazy sweet--they have pure glucose in them. But they also have a chemical in them that makes them highly toxic to dogs. Maybe marmots have a similar problem with grapes, and the little guy's instincts told him 'nix-nix.'
They probably just don't care. They understand you aren't gonna hurt them so they tolerate it for food. Some even tolerate getting picked up like babies. Not all marmots are like that. Some will get offended and pull back like "How dare you!" Still, they rarely bite. They can if they get very upset. Dogs seem to make them angry. They deliver a warning with a shrieking, whining call then clamp down with strong jaws.
Seems he doesn't mind being patted on his cute chubby little belly then! I'm so jealous cos I would just love to pat that cute chubby little belly of his too! 😉😁 He's so adorable he makes me smile every time - as soon as I see him! He really is such a treasure to watch! ❤🤗❤
That Gopher is a riot! But, I think I know why? He doesn't like the color purple! He seems to like almost everything except for fruit that is purple in color! He didn't like plums either and they were sort of purple as well! But the guy like Durian!!!! So go figure!
