      It’s because their super-ego as Freud coined would be heavily damaged.
      As someone already commented - to acknowledge the abuse would, in their minds, be their fault and a failure on their part - something most humans simply cannot comprehend.
      Humans are selfish, and full of ego but also deep inner pain and shame.

    It really angers me when parents don't believe their children when they tell them they're being abused, physically or sexually. It's already so damaging and makes you feel worthless when this is happening to you, but I can't imagine how much worse it would make a child feel when their parents tell them to shut up and that they don't believe them. Kids don't make shit like that up, I'm so glad my mom actually believed me when I told her.

But, that thread detailed the phycological reasons many parents do shove their kids off: Lack of care being the least common. In most cases, it’s personal guilt and feelings of failure as a parent or caretaker that usually takes hold at that point. Parents put DEEP trust in institutions they frequent, especially religious ones, which is why much of the abuse from the Catholic Church goes unheard. No one THAT blindly faithful wants to doubt those that tell them they are of god. So they refuse the validity, say they were making it up, exposed to some media of sex that made them parrot things... it’s a sad reality but the moral of the story is ALWAYS assume a victim is correct until they are BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT found wrong

      @ddunknown2085 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      The very fact that you are shaking in anger shows that there is a God. Otherwise there would be no objective good or evil. We are made in His image with free will, but with the ability to know what is right and wrong. Without free will (including the will to slaughter and rape children) there can be no love. Pre-programmed robots cannot do evil OR love, for love by definition must be freely given. In the end all evil will be contained so that they can rip each other apart for eternity. You just make sure you do not end up in that quarantine called Hell. God is so just that He did not say to Himself "I know they commited sins, but nevermind i love them i will turn a blind eye". He could not find ANYONE ELSE worthy enough or holy to pay the bail for us, so He sent His son here to live and be tempted like the rest of us, but NEVER give in to the temptation. The only blameless human payed the most horrific price. You just make sure you accept that free gift. Know your limitations. Know you cannot possibly erase or atone for your sins and trust in His plan. Remember, the cross symbolizes God's justice (The price must be payed in order for justice to exist) and mercy (He payed the price for you) intersected.

No wonder Huckle loved these communities so much. The culture there has to change. It makes me worry about the countless other paedophiles who must be abusing there too.

      I don’t understand it because if I was running an organisation and somebody like that was involved I would do everything to make sure they were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I wouldn’t try to minimise or cover it up. Setting aside the obvious that they should be protecting children, it seems to me counterproductive to the organisation covering these crimes up because it always comes out and then the credibility is gone.

I was saying though it’s counterproductive for any organisation to cover up for child molesters and should report these bastards to the police straight away. It would be much better for any organisation’s reputation if they were known for kicking these sick fucks out and prosecuting them. That way the organisation doesn’t be tarnished and the kids are protected.
