The bloody baron quest is one of the best quest lines in video game history. And there are different things that can happen based on decisions you've made. If interested, you should definitely look up the other permutations of how the quest can end, and what leads to those endings. And I'm saying this as someone who played Cyberpunk 2077 1st , and loved the writing, then played the Witcher 3 after. Witcher 3 became a top 10 all time game for me. Joining games like the last of us part 1 and 2, the Mass Effect trilogy,Persona 5 and Cyberpunk 2077.
A man of good taste if I say so myself! Agree, writing in Witcher 3 is some of the very best in video games, dialogue in particular. As a fun fact, maybe, I can say it’s even better in Polish, they use a lot of phrases and words from old medieval era polish language, it really adds to the experience, I wish English version was more like it, like early game of thrones, if you know what I mean.
I agree in hindsight. I find the ending where he kills himself way more satisfying, a really good, sad conclusion to the story. One of the best in video game history. I originally got the ending where he simply leaves with his wife to look for a cure - a very open-ended and disappointing conclusion to an otherwise great story in my opinion
Whole time I’ve been watching this playlist didn’t realize it’s not even a week old. You convinced me to download the audio books the lore so far is amazing.
Highly recommend reading the physical books if you can! Just my opinion, not a fan of the narrator’s interpretation unfortunately. But either way, the books are freaking amazing!
One month later I’m doing the exact same thing , played and finished the Witcher 3 , years ago, got back into recently , so started watching Rob and evidently got me into downloading the audio books for the first time 🔥
1:11:20 Hahahaha, peak cinema! In the midst of a heated tussle, the climax of the quest's storyline, the Baron is desperate to get Anna home, but... "I wouldn't mind a few rounds of Gwent." It's like Geralt in this first part. Ciri is in danger, we must find her before the Hunt does, but... How about a game of Gwent?
Not sure if you read these Rob, but here's some gear tips if you do! - Looting most things and selling stuff in the junk tab + Witcher contracts will help you with money issues - Many "?" areas are totally worth it, they give skill points, money and GEAR. I never buy from stores bc of this. - Most of your money is spent on crafting Witcher items! The hunt for these can be found under quests. And are by far the best items in game. (though the ones you find around the world are also quite good). It's cool if you're just doin everything at your own pace, I totally get it. TLDR - if you're struggling to keep up/ want a smoother experience the answer to your troubles is doing side content.
The first five seconds of this video sum up my unraveled data-driven-decision-making abilities that led me to conclude that, indeed, The Witcher 3 is the best video game I've ever played.
52:58 you had me dying laughing for 5 mins straight with that 😂😂 took the thought straight out of my head when I was watching you go through the armors
"Why do i feel bad for him"? You're not the only one who feels that way. Maybe it's because Baron is a well-written and very complex character. The whole world in Velen is dark fantasy in its purest form. Thanks
Amazing! Thank you so much for the playthrough so far. Your reactions are so good, fact that you read the books just helps that along. Game is absolutely amazing. It's one where I also absolutely wanted to 100%. So I did.
suggest you start looking for witcher armour schematics when you can. (ursine for high defense and heavy attacks, feline for fast movement and quick attacks, wolven for a mix of the two, griffin for signs and potions)
If I was in his shoe I wouldn't really focus on making armour I was just enjoying the story and side quests on my first play through but yeah after isles of mist I started collecting armour diagrams.
Rob what was your favourite book in the series? I find it so difficult to pick one, Baptism of fire was so good the way it focused in on Geralt and a more linear story progression. It was like Fellowship of the Ciri, plus it introduced my man Regis the absolute goat
It’s between Baptism and Swallow. Followed closely by Time of Contempt. I thought Blood of Elves was extremely boring, and Lady of the Lake was very slow until about halfway through when he got away from all the Nimue stuff
@@IAmRobPlays Hell yeah brother, Sapkowski is writing another book and he says it'll be out in Polish by the end of the year and translated early next year. I don't think it will be a sequel though, hopefully more short stories
@@IAmRobPlays I absolutely agree about Blood of elves, it makes getting into the series difficult after the short stories were so good and the first chapter is essentially a long recap. The entire chapter about Triss having uh, bowel issues, was also very strange. I did like seeing the characters at Kaer Morhen though, calm before the storm
it feels like I played a lot, but I searched the net to find out exactly how many quests there are and I found out that they are around 350-360, and I was shocked
I really never understood how someone can just decide to start a game on Max Difficulty and literally spend 0 minutes reading a bit of the in game prompts and systems.... My dude is on Death March without even crafting a fucking Swallow Potion to help heal a bit holy shit
Coming up on 60 to 70hrs on this game, genuinely already in my top 3. I haven't finished the main story yet. I've just been having a blast doing a bunch of random things. Im level 36 atm. Edit: i have 72hrs so far.
@mohasyd3942 yeah I'm saving those for the very end. I did start that blood and wine on accident by accepting a contract, so I quickly fast travelled back to novigrad.
They could easily make witcher 4 a masterpiece, all they have to do is follow the things that makes witcher3 masterpiece...i mean nothing extra! But hope they push the boundaries like this one did.
@@agssilv5919 it's true, and cdpr has been hiring based on gender lately. I don't want to be too hyped for witcher 4 if it's just going to be a disappointment

Do the white choices before the yellow choices, you miss a lot of secondary dialogues...

You might wanna dabble in potions a bit more. 'Swallow' will heal you much more then a bit of bread or water

I have 230 hours in this game and I still love it so much, best game ever.
Every side quest, every job board, every DLC. It's ploughing awesome!
The Baron and his gang are a version of The Rats where they are definitely bad guys but Ciri still finds a home of sorts among them.

Built different
There's a mod where u can have infinite inventory spaces. It will come HANDY.
Seems like you really need to brew swallow. it will immensely help :)

2:11:42 If you ever do a replay (or NewGame+) the alternate outcome to this quest is quite the gut punch.
You should turn on enemy upscalling if you haven't turned it on yet

everythings on fire and you guys are just hanging out?
...huh?
cinema
You really need to learn alchemy, at the very least brew Swallow. To me Thunderbolt it's also not negotiable.
Hey rob, when are you going to recommence your AC marathon?
So far in to the game, and still don't use potions!?
why does bro never select the white options
pisses me off so bad
If you are playing verry hard difficulty you should prepare for the bates. Check the info in bestiary book, what weapon and chemistry to use
Loot the dang corpses
Letho, the swoll viper…

I have to use Lossless Scaling to get this game over 60 😂
