The Glissando's remind me of 40's style pants just cropped! Being pear shaped I hate extra bulk at the hip and having the wide hem helps balance the bottom in my opinion.

Great video Kim. My Allegro shorts are the best shorts pattern I’ve ever made. Have Sabrina Slims but haven’t made them. I’ve been crushing hard on Glissando ever since they came out. Sure wish LN would make a zip front piece to trade for button front. Your pants fitting videos are wonderful. Thank you!!!❤️🌵

I so much love how informed this video is. I'm starting over in my clothes making journey. Learned from Mom many years ago, an now I feel I have no reason not to continue any longer, even with pants! Pants have always been so unflattering on.me but one of these patterns I feel will work even for me. Thank you
Thank you for watching! Pants can be scary but you got this! You just need to find the right pattern and make little tweaks to fit you the way you desire. The Duet Trousers and Sabrina Slims come with a fitting workbook so I think those are good choices to start with! ~K

I respectfully disagree with the idea that making a muslin that one cannot wear is a waste. It is an important part of the learning and fitting process. It allows me the freedom to make the alterations I need and as a beginner I know that there will be fit issues. I don't want he added pressure of sewing a wearable muslin. Nothing we do when learning to sew should be thought of as wasted. It is all part of the process.
Yes I get your point as well. This is the amazing thing about sewing.. some people prefer to make muslins and others not and that's totally fine. For me personally, I have to make a muslin for any pant but for tops I tend to skip muslins to reduce cost because fabric isn't cheap where I live. ~K
Excellent vlog, so helpful 😊 On the subject of making a muslin I always aim for a wearable toile in cheaper fabric 👍🏻

Such a helpful video Kim, thank you! I've made the Sabrina's in a Ponte and I'm having alot of trouble with interpreting wrinkles. I've got the Duet pattern printed and I'm hoping to have better luck with those. Fingers crossed!

Hi Kim, hope you , your family, & the move are All doing well. When you start video taping again would you "pair" tops with the Love Notion pants patterns? Although I have been sewing for years all of the available fabric types & plethora of patterns are overwhelming ( particularly so few brick and mother stores and so many on line stores! Thank you. When you first talked about wrinkles, I thought you were going to tell how to determine if your material wrinkles. I learned this ages ago. Before buying the fabric, grab a handful, gather it into your hand, and squeeze hard for about a minute. Let go, and check to see how many wrinkles there are.

Thank you for a very helpful review. I was looking to buy my first Lovenotions pattern, Glissando (the full tummy adjustment calls to me), but noticed that the pattern doesn't give leg length or the height they are designed for. Or am I missing that somewhere? Thank you
You are so welcome! Love Notions Patterns are drafted for a height of 5'5" and the inseam lengths are listed in the pattern. ~K
