Seeing all these old miniature's brings back memories, smells and feelings. I was new to the hobby in the mid 90's and miss it when I look at you awesome work.

A 25 year old Bretonnian project is finally getting the attention it has long awaited with the return of the Old World! Your Orc Wyvern turned out gorgeous!!! Hoping to revisit mine after the Bretonnians.
I love older models finally seeing paint! Even if I won't be getting into Old World, I do have a few extremely old metal minis I want to get cleaned up and painted. The nostalgia and personality they offer can't be beat!
Fun to see you getting excited about Warhammer Fantasy. I have and continue to expand my Fantasy Battle armies; Lizardmen, Ogres, Empire and Beastmen. Keep at it, and continue to have fun with it.

Can relate to this sooooooO much! Seeing space marines on my nephews bedroom shelf, 2019, reignited my passion for warhammer, the minis from Citadel. We spent a few weekends painting one winter and honestly, it was so enjoyable, since then i have painted a fair amount of minis from Citadel/GW, mostly oldhammer, and quite a bit given to my nephew to look after. But what with summer soon to return, ill put aside my brushes and wet palate for now, and concentrate on building up my collection of oldhammer minis, which is steadily building up, and continues to grow, focusing mostly on minis from the era i got into it, mid 1980s onwards. That being said, if a half decent beastmen army turned up ready to be painted… 🖌🎨🖌🎨🖌🎨🖌🎨🖌
I still have my old dwarves but what I really want is a Wood elf army. I truly fell in love with the twilight sisters on forest dragon model. Been looking for it at a semi decent price for 3 years now and I don't think it's coming down anytime soon.
I went to a games workshop store and there was some big shot manager in the store. Talking to the staff. I mentioned how I started on fantasy back in the mid 90s and how it sucked they had killed off Warhammer. This was around 2018. The big shot sparks up and says Fantasy is coming back. He didn’t know exactly when but he said they are planning to bring it back around 2022-2023 time period. I can only assume they had spoken about it when they pulled the rug out. It was always planned to be temporary.
I have always thought that the old Warhammer Fantasy stuff was just off a bit. Then you added that base and made the whole thing come together. Very cool.
This is such a pretty model! The purple oil wash was a stroke of genius. The pastel greens and the purple shadows look like a fairytale storybook. Especially the overhead shot at 19:45. I'm not sure if that's how the model looks under real lighting but the effect is awesome!
Loving how pastel you went with the wyvern; it's a really unique look considering how garishly bright a lot of the proper old school citadel miniature aesthetics were back in the 80s when this model was sculpted. It feels of its time, but it's not in your face and it's a cool, understated finish to a pretty crazy looking mini.
I own that Shaman on War Wyvern and I recently made a restoration of my old paint job. The model is going to be rereleased these days. I also got a mail stating up to 180 days until delivery.
I’m diving into The Old World, my first battle/skirmish game! Been huge into Blood Bowl, but now have a small Warriors of Chaos army to paint up. I love the old hammer look. Love these videos and this channel, very inspiring to slay the grey!
I love the 'tactical placement' of the one Witch elf which was clearly painted/greenstuffed to be topless in every shot shes in, top off frame, hidden behind another model etc.
Great work on the warboss and wyvern! Really loving the nostalgia wave hitting all of us! I'm working on my remaining High Elf stuff as a build project to sell off. Then I'll dig out my Wood Elves to rebase them in the new format and get them on the field. 🤘😁

I'm really sad to say but I don't think that this is one of your better paint jobs, but please hear me out on this, it comes from a place of love and wanting to provide some positive criticism. It looks a little rushed and flat all over. The purple wash that I thought ws really going to help tie it together (I was excited when you said it) just overpowers the fleshy tan tones and is pooled too much in the recesses. It also meant that those vibrant bright saturated greens have ended up very muted and there's little definition between the different areas of the body. There are parts that also look unfinished, the eyes of the wyvern I'm assuming have been washed out by the purple and the armour on the orc and decoration (furs, skulls etc.) all looks very gray and monochrome. A little bit more love on these areas would really help this guy to pop. As it is, he feels a little rushed and like he could use another session or 2 to finish him off.
First, maybe that was the look he was going for. Maybe he didn't want it pop all that much. It will already stand out on the tabletop. Second, he has so many things to paint he doesn't have time to obsess over every single piece he works on. Not everything has to be some Golden Demon display piece quality paint job. What he did was better than what the vast majority of people in the hobby can do, which is more than good enough.

It happens. So, I still have some nice pieces, all have never been painted. They're fantasy D&D, Warhammer wasn't then what it is today. I had started collecting magic users, my intent was to create the ultimate battle of the sexes but real life got in the way and for decades my babies have laid tucked away and out of sight. I'm hoping you'd have a follower or two who might want to rehome them and carry on the legacy. My prices would be fair. I'm wanting them to go to people who have an appreciation and respect for the history of gaming. If someone is seriously interested, initial contact can be made here on my TH-cam channel. Just finished my metal Mortuary Priest that I got off of ebay and now I need a few things to stock... 2 Necrosphinx boxes and the Core Starter. @_@ Well that and maybe build up my 3rd Chariot crew and some archers so I can have 40 archers when the starter shows up... cuz GW decided you should get 32 instead and so I grabbed some second hand archers to fill out the roster. I don't know if I'll do the archers first or if I'll move to the primed High Elves I got first; might be worth breaking up the painting color scheme a bit, despite needing to rebase them. Been doing my Tomb Kings in purple with red and white accents with gold for ornaments and bronze for the weapons. And of course, lots of browns and beige going up to white for the bones and a mix of green and gray for the heroes/lords since they have their parchment dried skin. :P Meanwhile my High Elves will be a good change of pace, being mostly white with blue accents and silver mail. With golden manes and healthy skin colors, the Glittering Host will be great to paint up next. (Though I only have a few Dragon Princes and Silver Helms primed atm)

I didn't know you play guitar. I'm seeing an ESP LTD F400FM with the tribal inlay, a Dean Vendetta, an ESP LTD EC-1000 and an Ibanez Iceman ICX120. Some nice axes. Got any others? I miss my old ESP LTD F250. Was my first "real" guitar. I regret selling it. I just go a new Jackson 7 string King V though.

very cool , I have one of these painted as a frost Wyvern I painted many moons ago and another of the same kit waiting to be rebuilt and painted. but I have a 3rd even older GW kit that predates the marauder kit that Shaman is from . it looks like a giant snake with wings and legs. as in it had a snake like head .
I want to start an army. In fact there are at least 3 different armies I'd like to have for the Old World. But I just can't afford an army right now. Not without it being all printed proxies. And so far I can't find enough files for what I'd like to do.
Ebay always been crazy about miniatures processo, now even more... luckyly i don't have problema qith old world models.. i still have plenty of models of that era
My only issue with trying to buy old mini's from Ebay is that many of them from the early/mid 80's were mostly only available in the UK, and shipping from there to the US has gotten ridiculous at times. When the cost of shipping just a single mini doubles or even triples the price, that's got to be an extra special mini for me to pull the trigger. Now I've paid a pretty penny for certain minis, most notably the crazy amount for a Mark I Saturnine Terminator WITH the back banner pole, but if it's only neat and not cool the total price has got to be somewhat reasonable.
maybe i should fdinish my wyvern too, i put the rider on a juggernauth in a count as black orc warboss on a boar, one that's pretty enraged and can be found in the desolation of chaos...
I picked these up on sale at Home Depot of all places. Pretty nice units that do come with lights. Couple prices being raised with the GBP trouncing the USD on the market with eBay pricing trends and it's getting pretty ridiculous, for sure. I had that same model, only mine was a mashup of resin parts with occasional metal bits, and the wings were hard plastic, which made it tricky to actually glue them together. Plastic wings + resin body = total PITA.
I bought my Skaven army just before Age of Sigmar was announced. Never got to play Fantasy. I was so excited for old world, but Skaven apparently will not be apart of it.
Skaven have a complete army list. As complete as anything except Tomb Kings & Bretonnians. They just probably won't get anything more. I'm planning on doing some Skaven. As soon as I finish my current AdMech combat patrol.
Just an fyi, you can mix Milliput with Play-doh in a 50/50 ratio. So mix your two parts of Milliput and then add an amount of Play-doh equal to your total Milliput. This does several things. It makes the Milliput more malleable and easier to work with, and probably more importantly, it means you use less of your expensive Milliput. When it hardens, it retains the abilify to be filled and sanded just like normal Milliput.
Personal opinion, there's too much talking and not enough painting, and the wyvern paint job was very quick and imo could have had more attention paid to it.
As an avid Warhammer Fantasy fan, I have a strange feeling watching people pile back into Warhammer Fantasy only because GamesWorkshop said they are supporting it again. It's like an odd schadenfreude feeling. Like you consumer brains only like what the corpos tell you to like. Had GW said nothing about fantasy and continued to push AoS, none of these videos and 'I love Warhammer Fantasy acktually', would never have happened. I simply feel immense disappointment in how easily manipulated modern people are. 'Consume and Obey' at its finest I guess.
Dude the minis weren’t available and not everyone is interested in rescuing used ones. Totally ok to be happy about Fantasy system being supported once again (as it always should have been).
Something I’ve learned over time is that a lot of people only have GW stores available as places to play the game, so naturally they only get to play the newest or currently produced games. With TH-camrs it’s probably an algorithm thing, stuff has hype, so you wanna make content for the current trend.
@@ronalddietz7020 GW is big enough that they can run small Warhammer only stores, even if they are losing money. Every other FLGS I've ever known that lasted for any length of time ALWAYS had to have a second thing they did. Many sold comic books and pop culture collectables, others were used book stores (sometimes both). I even knew one (early 90's) that survived by having a large library of video game cartridges that they rented out. That's one of the reasons that game cafe's happened and those places rely on food sales to stay in business and the gaming is a side hustle. But a pure tabletop game store that does nothing but that is a really hard business to keep afloat.

I am starting a Bretonnian army. I was always fascinated by it when I was younger, and now I have the chance to paint one up of my own.
I just did the same with the Tomb Kings! It is a walk down memory lane.
I was hoping to do the same. But sadly I'm not a fan of the new Bretonnians. The new ones are too "generic fantasy" for me.

What cases are you using to store your models? They look great.
I used to buy "ugly" ebay mini's, strip them and then resell them.

Skaven have a complete army list. As complete as anything except Tomb Kings & Bretonnians. They just probably won't get anything more. I'm planning on doing some Skaven. As soon as I finish my current AdMech combat patrol.

Just an fyi, you can mix Milliput with Play-doh in a 50/50 ratio. So mix your two parts of Milliput and then add an amount of Play-doh equal to your total Milliput.
This does several things. It makes the Milliput more malleable and easier to work with, and probably more importantly, it means you use less of your expensive Milliput.
When it hardens, it retains the abilify to be filled and sanded just like normal Milliput.

Personal opinion, there's too much talking and not enough painting, and the wyvern paint job was very quick and imo could have had more attention paid to it.
As an avid Warhammer Fantasy fan, I have a strange feeling watching people pile back into Warhammer Fantasy only because GamesWorkshop said they are supporting it again. It's like an odd schadenfreude feeling. Like you consumer brains only like what the corpos tell you to like. Had GW said nothing about fantasy and continued to push AoS, none of these videos and 'I love Warhammer Fantasy acktually', would never have happened.
I simply feel immense disappointment in how easily manipulated modern people are. 'Consume and Obey' at its finest I guess.
Dude the minis weren’t available and not everyone is interested in rescuing used ones. Totally ok to be happy about Fantasy system being supported once again (as it always should have been).
Something I’ve learned over time is that a lot of people only have GW stores available as places to play the game, so naturally they only get to play the newest or currently produced games.
With TH-camrs it’s probably an algorithm thing, stuff has hype, so you wanna make content for the current trend.
@@ronalddietz7020 GW is big enough that they can run small Warhammer only stores, even if they are losing money. Every other FLGS I've ever known that lasted for any length of time ALWAYS had to have a second thing they did. Many sold comic books and pop culture collectables, others were used book stores (sometimes both). I even knew one (early 90's) that survived by having a large library of video game cartridges that they rented out. That's one of the reasons that game cafe's happened and those places rely on food sales to stay in business and the gaming is a side hustle. But a pure tabletop game store that does nothing but that is a really hard business to keep afloat.
