$10k is actually a great rate for a semi truck, some owner ops that are brand new are paying over 20k, the problem is you need a good insurance company that can actually pay out in the event of a claim or you will lose everything, a lot of truckers are like well let me just go with the absolute cheapest carrier but if you go with a no name company chances are they probably will not pay out or deny the claim which totally defeats the point of having the insurance, the way i look at it is good insurance is something id rather have but not need, than need and not have
You are not the only one I am with the same company only 1 truck running in Arkansas Hopper Bottom set up. This month went from 10k to almost 14k per year. I would look around for a better rate, but I think it's everywhere right now. God Bless
My progressive policy went from $31k to $58k. Needless to say we shopped around and Cody Folsom Insurance in Texas quoted me with Geico and it actually went down to $30k. We bound that policy the same day as the quote because the other 10-15 people we shopped it to never called back to say they couldn’t help us.
There is a secret to insurance. To drop the payments like a rock. Yet. You have to follow this 100%. On the Premium. You max it out on how much you have to pay and not the insurance company. That adjustment. The extra money. You put what you can of it into a savings account that gains the most interest and do whatever you can not to touch it unless you have to. In time. You will have more money to pay out on an accident than the insurance company will have. Also. You may not need the insurance company at all, depending on how much the accident costs. Being on SSD. I don't do the savings account. I can't. I do the insurance company part. Saves big time.
Dont feel bad brah!!..NJ the minimum liability insurance went up to 1.5mil as per july of this year. and it went up 6k for me!! Hope all it works out for you!!
Like you said Inflation and the fact that truck parts are also going up compared to 2021. If you get in a wreck, your truck parts are more expensive today so they are going to adjust, the other, the dollar is taking a hit. I know a lot of people including me that sold our trucks and found a driving job and doing better. Shop around but the Insurance renewal has been going up every year.
Just as a point of reference. I had two vehicles on State Farm full coverage with medium to high coverage. I got rid of one, ‘21 Mazda SUV. Kept the 13 Toyota Sienna and the premium is almost the same as having both vehicles. It’s just a little cheaper. Insurance rates are adjusted to true inflation
What I realized with the time that if you insure 2 vehicles and then drop one out they still want to get money for two, especially if 2 were financed and you paid one off saving on payments but hey- we still want your money, you could pay for two now pay same amount for one and even higher) I recommend you to try another agent ,tell them your old price and ask for better deal ,don’t mention your current renewal offer- it’s just offer, not the actual price you have to pay.
