I remember at the time thinking that there were so many potentially bad, "undeserving" winners from that season, and , honestly, you really could argue that Enzo played the second best game that season in some ways. I think Cody is over-hated by the fandom for dumb reasons. I might like Derek more and think he is the better player, but I acknowledge Cody for the game he played too. A lot of people act like Cody is stupid for not betraying Derek, but they seem to forget that the jury said if Victoria made it to the Final 2 they would vote for her just out of bitterness. So Cody’s choice ensured that the most worthy player would win, even if it wasn’t him. If anyone hates him for how the All-Stars season was played that was more the other players at fault than him. Cody showed he wasn’t dumb and was an even better player than he previously was. I’m sure Derek would be proud of the game he played. Thanks for acknowledging both Hitmen with the respect they deserve.
For me, my hesitation with The Hitmen (and biggest difference between ChillTown) is Cody and Derrick never had to play from the bottom or have the deck stacked against them. They were always on top and plans always seemed to work out. Obviously, there is something to be said about the strategy of that. But I'd say Hitmen is more dominant while ChillTown was better strategicly.
Here's some crazy stats about the two: Out of 3 full games from Derrick and Cody that all went to the final 2, they were both nominated a total of 3 times. Over 3 games. Derrick at the final 3 of bb16, and cody during the final 8 and 5 of bb16. If you don't count Derrick's default nomination at the final 3, the hitmen have only been nominated at a ceremony 2 times. One ended up not counting because of a reset week, so you could argue only once. And that nomination was selected by a literal random draw of skittles. Neither of them were ever nominated while being the target for the week.
The Hitmen Have only faced eviction 1 time (not counting the Reset Week) Only touched the block twice (not counting the Reset Week) and 1 time was at the Final 3 of BB16 Have never had an eviction vote casted against them Have a PERFECT average placement of 1.33 And, have 16 competition wins (9 HOHs & 7 POVs)
You know, hearing you sum up the hitmen's games from BB16 actually kind of piqued a somewhat interesting "what-if" scenario. During the final 8B and final 7 rounds of the season, Cody was leaning towards getting Frankie out sooner rather than later, but we see that Derrick urges him to get Donny and Nicole out first, (because Frankie is less threatening to Derrick's game.) So in the season, that's what they do. But later on, in the final 5A round, we do see that Frankie's nominations signal that he had more loyalty to Derrick and Caleb than Cody, and without the reset week, it's unlikely that Cody and Derrick make it to the end together. So, what this makes me wonder is was keeping Frankie over Donny + Nicole really the best play for Cody's game? How does the endgame of BB16 change if say Frankie is sent home in final 7 instead of Nicole? 'Cause I do agree it was probably best for Derrick's game to keep Frankie, but I kind of feel like if Cody really wanted to win, he would have been better off getting Frankie out sooner.
yeah Cody isn't good at the game. He's a coaster. It's amazing how he's always up against either really bad players or has the help of an All Star like Derrick.
Thank you Ethan for giving us 2 vids a week now! The Hitmen alliance was game-shattering and honestly, had it not been for Derrick's presence in BB16, I think Cody could have been our first 2 time Winner.
It’s possible, but Cody was a lot more like Jason from season 3 the first time around. He needed that strategic mind to help him. His mind for strategy wasn’t horrible, but he was just too young the first time around
@@bluedevils481991 Maybe so, though I still think only Frankie could've beaten him in a universe where Derrick Levasseur doesn't play (I'm so glad he did though)
I'm suprised you didn't add The Renegades to this competition. Both Dan and Memphis did a pretty good job their second time around and thet both were in the finals their first time around.
Likewise. The comp comparison was mainly to show that one aspect that allowed The Hitmen to be so dominant was because they had so many comp wins, while Chilltown didn't need to rely on the comps to maintain control, but overall in how Big Brother is played today it's likely The Hitmen would be a bit more dominant because comps play a much larger role than they used to
@@Ethanimale proof is in the pudding; only reason Cody ever got close was cause someone with good social game wanted him to get close. First Derrick, then Nicole.
I probably like the Hitmen more than Chilltown but it's sort of unfair to compare statistics as Will and Boogie played together twice (I'm assuming you didn't factor in Boogie's solo run on BB14) while Derrick and Cody only played together once. And Derrick didn't play a second time in general. That being said, Cody is statistically the highest rated two-time houseguest based off of performance alone. Could technically be said about Dan though since he did WIN his first time (unanimously just like Cody did in All-Stars) and it was that much more challenging for him to get to the end the second time.
2 different seasons, so it's hard to judge completely fairly, but yeah I agree. I think Cody moved up into that 2nd place spot behind Dan. And even then it's tough to say because he's that damn good.
oh my god we really need a REAL second season for Cody, so people can actually see how bad he is. Put him in a house with average players, he'll lose. Put him in a house with real All Stars, he'll lose.
Love not being notified ahead of time of the early release. Looks like I get to enjoy it with everyone else today! For the record, I think that The Hitmen are the better duo but not nearly as memorable
pregame isn't even the biggest culprit, though it plays a critical part. The game was clearly old vs new; Memphis and Dani were clueless, as I think was Cody. Nicole won the game on like day 2 when her pettiness caught up with Janelle. Nicole stayed "innocent" and won over the majority of the house (mainly Dani and Memphis). From there it becomes a game with only a few real contenders (Nicole, Ian, Cody), and I mean c'mon, out of those 3 that's a cake walk for Cody.
The thing is that people who said cody evicting Victoria was a mistake are so wrong cause Victoria also would have beat Cody atleast most likely there is a chance he could have beat her but it was still really likely that she would have beat him.
No.. Paul from BB 19 did. He just didn’t win bc his jury was bitter. Cody’s jury wasn’t. Paul played a more dominant game than Cody, and they played the same game
nailed it! The Renegades are about equal to the Hitmen, maybe even have a slight edge because Dan is king. Chilltown is another level up. Two legendary players beats one with a partner.
I recently went back and watched 16, and as much credit as Derrick gets a lot of things just happened to fall his way. Tbh I think Cody is by far the better player, and Derrick gets all of the credit simply for Cody being loyal.
There is no argument for cody being the better player in bb16, did you watch the feeds? there were so many times where cody was ready to blow up his game and derrick talked him out of it
not sure I'm all in on this take... chill town thru multiple comps, which is not going to help there win stat in that metric. also they played with an their alliance out in the open which inherently makes for stronger enemies. plus the kore you play the harder it is going to be to finish deep. the hitman are great, I just don't think its a clear best duo...
Cody was great in Big Brother All Stars 2! However Derrick is still the better player in my opinion! Big Brother 16 was the first season I ever watched live form the start! Big Brother 16 got me to love big brother!
The rational was such a weird name for an alliance, I'm not sure if it was the worst, but it was pretty awful. It probably was the worst. Unde9able was also dumb as hell.
My name is Koadey. If I get into Big Brother, I will make an alliance with a guy named Derek, because if you give CBS the opportunity to try to recreate The Hitmen, they'll take the opportunity and run with it.
All-Stars 2 was a WEAK house. Janelle, Kaysar, and Tyler didn't even care about the game. Ian didn't have 2 alliances to carry him through the game again and Nicole is one of the most notorious drifters.
How are we not going to at least mention the allegations of Derrick pregaming for AS2, and the tribe-mentality that led almost exclusively minorities to be put up for elimination first in AS2. I agree Cody played a dominant competition game, but to say he played a 'dominant social game' 'without Derrick there' isn't completely grounded in the reality of what happened on that mess of a season.
@jp right but I’ve never heard of a third person helping them pregame for AS1. Like it’s one thing for the season to effectively start early, it’s another for Derrick to help for a season he’s not on and claim that’s Cody’s game
Cody played a good game in bb 16. But he didn't make any of his own moves. If he had put Caleb up, evicted derrick and got rid of Frankie it would have been a different game.
I don't think that would have gotten him the win. I actually think that would have costed him second place. He played a good coaster game, coasting Derrick.
Derrick never hit the block however the hitmen were a secret Combined chill town played five times which they didn't didn't place well two of the five times however they were out as an alliance from the start, so it's tough to pick one over the other
it's not even close. Cody isn't All Star quality. Cody is more like Memphis, only reason he lasted longer in that fake all star season was cause Nicole likes him and Memphis had the age gap.
I agree with your overall opinion. While The Hitmen are theoretically much better players, I personally believe BB is at its best when players are okay-great players and interesting characters, making them more dynamic imo. Cody and Derrick are just missing that razzle-dazzle, that little extra jooj that makes a houseguest interesting to watch.
but in theory they are worse players?? We can probably agree that Derrick and Will are both BB masterminds. But Cody has absolutely nothing on Boogie. Boogie's gameplay in season 7 was legendary. Cody doesn't have that; his gameplay in S22 was subpar at best -- he simply rode the aftermath of Nicole's pettiness towards Janelle.
BB16 cast was so dumb, and BB22 cast were too cautious/friends with Cody. I hate that this duo gets so much credit. I’m glad Cirie was able to mop the floor with Cody on Traitors, showed how he isn’t really that good
Both duos only pull off their games because of bad players being casted. Caleb,Zak, Christine, and Frankie blow up and let Derek keep Victoria sliding by. Will played well in 7 but only cuz Janelle was so bad from the start, and boogie didn't lol, he used the exact same strat of riding the dumb girl. Erica was so desperate If boogie left right after kaysar she'd have hooked up with chicken George and people would call him one of the best xD
you're reaching bro. Boogie had the 90s swag. At the time girls his age liked it, and that did him well. Cody is a more modern personality, so girls like Nicole are drawn by him. I would say S16 Derrick actually played the house well, and carried Cody as his body guard. In S2 Will played the house well, in S7 it was more of a flirt game. S22 Nicole just blew up Janelle and handed the game to Cody.
@@jaakezzz_G erica wasnt on boogie until kaysar was gone tho, so I think that pretty much disproves that. But I agree Derek played really well, I just think his path setting up the jury was made alot easier by the 4 people in his cast who self destructed is all. They are above average players (except boogie xD) but some very bad gameplay benefits thier legacy to me
Nicole could have beaten Cody in the final two though. She played probably the second best game and she is a winner who made it to final two of all stars. She prob should have won seeing as she went in the house not liked and a winner in
@@gqprince2 whether or not she deserved a win over cody, doesn't mean she wouldn't have gotten it. based on what hgs were saying at the time, it seems like it would have been a close vote, like win or lose by 1 close
Yea I think it depends what you like more of big brother players dominance or entertainment, I think the hitmen are better too but Chilltown can rival it as a close second but it goes to show which duo was closer in real life, one of the duos has a podcast they both do, and the other duo are split apart from a restraining order 😵💫
This is straight bs. Cody and Derek had plenty of luck together, and Cody walked all stars 2 without being a target. Chill town in all stars 1 was the best game ever played, hands down. And they did it as a duo who were the biggest targets. As a duo, Chill Town in all stars 1, is a lay up. It’s iconic for a reason.
nailed it! Cody is literally not good at the game, even debatably "bad" at the game. He simply rode the aftermath of Nicole in 22--Nicole's pettiness towards Janelle and Kaysar made the whole season a cake walk.
Cmon man. Daniele and Jason? Alison and Jun? WILL AND MIKE? Dick and Danielle? Brendan and Rachel? Dan and Memphis? Jeff and Jordan? Paul and victor? Tyler and kaycee? All way better duos than those 2
Hmm it’s almost as if I made a video last week talking about one of those duos you mentioned being the actual best duo… (Only jokes. Those are all great duos (sorta), I was doing a series on the duos that had both members win BB)
S22 is a joke. It was casted to be an old vs new; and yet only Janelle and Nicole were the ones who realized it, so people sided with Nicole because she's "more innocent", and that led to a literal one sided game where the only path it could take was for Nicole and Cody to thrive. Only smart decision Cody made that game was to not let Nicole win, which is like, the easiest decision you ever have to make in BB.
BB22 was pathetic. I think he got lucky with Derrick doing all the work to ensure he wins preseason and got lucky with a cast of complete idiots who just handed the game to him on week 1
Derricks game is incredibly overrated. Battle of the block ( a twist that essentially caters to a male alliance ) lasting until final SEVEN is insane and basically handed them the game. The reset button saving their goat Victoria and taking out their biggest comp threat Frankie did as well.
Some stupid people still think Cody won because of pregame. Actually, it's not that pregame as people think. Cody interview revealed that he kept his name secret when the news about the game leak so no one know he will participate and not study his play. Nicole was lying to Derrick said she s not in the season and make him angry later, cody didnt know she ll be there. Dani, the members of the group is Cody taget pf first few days, but Nicole said she can control Dani so Cody let her go. Memphis is not even on the list and got last min call due to Josh having covid positive. He got less than a week to come to the house. Enzo, his final two reveal he didn't pregame with anyone at all. So the accusation of Cody won because of the pregame is so unfair and blow out of proportion.

The Hitmen: The most dynamic heroic duo
Dr Will had 88 villian moves. 1 hero move with Janelle. Dr Will is a villian overall.

Here's some crazy stats about the two:
Out of 3 full games from Derrick and Cody that all went to the final 2, they were both nominated a total of 3 times.
Chilltown has the entertainment factor that goes along with that group
I love all your videos. Hopefully we’ll get a Dan and Memphis video
The Hitmen
Have only faced eviction 1 time (not counting the Reset Week)
Only touched the block twice (not counting the Reset Week) and 1 time was at the Final 3 of BB16
Have never had an eviction vote casted against them
Have a PERFECT average placement of 1.33
And, have 16 competition wins (9 HOHs & 7 POVs)
Dan was 24 turning 25 in season 10 and he won unanimously. No excuses for Cody
Cody wouldn't have lasted 3 weeks in that house without Derrick!!! hahahahahahahahah
Cody also wouldn't have lasted 3 weeks in All Stars without Nicole!!! hahahahahhahhahahaah
I'm suprised you didn't add The Renegades to this competition. Both Dan and Memphis did a pretty good job their second time around and thet both were in the finals their first time around.
I think I agree. Alrhough, the comp comparison does not mean a lot to me because Will's game is to not win comps.
Likewise. The comp comparison was mainly to show that one aspect that allowed The Hitmen to be so dominant was because they had so many comp wins, while Chilltown didn't need to rely on the comps to maintain control, but overall in how Big Brother is played today it's likely The Hitmen would be a bit more dominant because comps play a much larger role than they used to
@@Ethanimale no they don't. Social game > comps. A comp win means nothing if the winner wants you to win the game anyway.
I love your videos! Amazing essays!
Cody definitely deserves more credit for BB16. Derrick couldn’t have won without Cody, meanwhile Cody proved he can win without Derrick
2 different seasons, so it's hard to judge completely fairly, but yeah I agree. I think Cody moved up into that 2nd place spot behind Dan. And even then it's tough to say because he's that damn good.
@@redkingdom15 you right it’s all hypothetical with a lot of what ifs and I’m with you 100% I consider Cody at 2 and Derrick 3 both behind Dan
I think Derrick can still win with a different partner
oh my god we really need a REAL second season for Cody, so people can actually see how bad he is.
Put him in a house with average players, he'll lose. Put him in a house with real All Stars, he'll lose.
@@jaakezzz_G lol sure thing buddy🤣🤣
Love not being notified ahead of time of the early release. Looks like I get to enjoy it with everyone else today! For the record, I think that The Hitmen are the better duo but not nearly as memorable
Well hopefully it notifies you for the next early upload!
i have a what if scenario:What if Tyler tried in bb22??
or Dan, or literally any real All Star alongside Janelle and Kaysar
My crime guy showing up in big brother was something I knew about but never really understood. He really is on big brother, fucking weird.
Not only was he on Big Brother but he is known as one of the best!
the alleged preseason strategizing really makes me question the validity behind cody's win but at the same time, 4 hohs and 4 vetos.. come on now.
pregame isn't even the biggest culprit, though it plays a critical part.
The game was clearly old vs new; Memphis and Dani were clueless, as I think was Cody. Nicole won the game on like day 2 when her pettiness caught up with Janelle. Nicole stayed "innocent" and won over the majority of the house (mainly Dani and Memphis). From there it becomes a game with only a few real contenders (Nicole, Ian, Cody), and I mean c'mon, out of those 3 that's a cake walk for Cody.
do a video on the brigade
Let’s gooooo Hitmen
Hitmen are like the Cops R Us of Big Brother both duos have a 100% win rate
Technically, Tony lost in Sarah’s season. So they’re kind of 3 of 4.
@@KWCline91 ? Sarah won that season tho so they still have a 100% win rate. I didnt say Tony did
The thing is that people who said cody evicting Victoria was a mistake are so wrong cause Victoria also would have beat Cody atleast most likely there is a chance he could have beat her but it was still really likely that she would have beat him.
you should do a vid on the Renagades
Cody played the most dominate bb game of all time.
No.. Paul from BB 19 did. He just didn’t win bc his jury was bitter. Cody’s jury wasn’t. Paul played a more dominant game than Cody, and they played the same game
16:29 And a coaches comp
What about the renegades throughout both players seasons both had great showings I think they are underated
nailed it!
The Renegades are about equal to the Hitmen, maybe even have a slight edge because Dan is king.
Chilltown is another level up. Two legendary players beats one with a partner.
So how does Jag and Matts Minute Men alliance compare to these two?
so we’re gonna forget the renegade
I recently went back and watched 16, and as much credit as Derrick gets a lot of things just happened to fall his way. Tbh I think Cody is by far the better player, and Derrick gets all of the credit simply for Cody being loyal.
No Derrick is the better player because of his strategy but Cody is an amazing player as well both deserve to be called big brother winners.
There is no argument for cody being the better player in bb16, did you watch the feeds? there were so many times where cody was ready to blow up his game and derrick talked him out of it
are you blind??? Cody can't play the game for his life!!!!! He requires a carrier. Derrick and Nicole.
Yea but Cody was so loyal that he sunk the 500000 prize for Derrick instead of taking it for himself. Derrick played em in the end
I don't know how you can call the hitmen a true duo when one of their games wasn't even together
not sure I'm all in on this take... chill town thru multiple comps, which is not going to help there win stat in that metric. also they played with an their alliance out in the open which inherently makes for stronger enemies. plus the kore you play the harder it is going to be to finish deep. the hitman are great, I just don't think its a clear best duo...
They were both pretty good Derrick was the mastermind.
Cody was great in Big Brother All Stars 2! However Derrick is still the better player in my opinion! Big Brother 16 was the first season I ever watched live form the start! Big Brother 16 got me to love big brother!
Hitmen is the best, Chilltown is the greatest
The rational was such a weird name for an alliance, I'm not sure if it was the worst, but it was pretty awful. It probably was the worst. Unde9able was also dumb as hell.
Is it just me or has the cast gone so down hill since BB16
not really, just BB22 had a bad cast
BB18 was the last good cast I feel and fun to watch. After that it was just mostly dictatorship and predictable
RATIONALE
Worst name eva 😂😂
Monday Night Ethanimale!!!
Personally I don't really like Hitmen but i can appreciate what they've done.
what DERRICK has done lol
all Cody did was ride his coattail and then ride the aftermath of Nicole in all stars.
Jason and Danielle were more dominant imo, I think they lucked out with botb and the rewind week
My name is Koadey. If I get into Big Brother, I will make an alliance with a guy named Derek, because if you give CBS the opportunity to try to recreate The Hitmen, they'll take the opportunity and run with it.
That is easily the most atrocious way to spell Cody my god
@@redkingdom15 I'm the one living with it and I don't mind it one bit. 7 years ago, I actually legally changed it to Koadey.
Crazy to think that cody would easily be the goat if he just evicted derrick and have 2 wins.
All-Stars 2 was a WEAK house. Janelle, Kaysar, and Tyler didn't even care about the game. Ian didn't have 2 alliances to carry him through the game again and Nicole is one of the most notorious drifters.
I’m so late to this channel!!! Whyyyy! 😩 Im glad I found it now! Love the videos.
didn’t derrick get out nicole when she started comparing him to dan?
Chill down season 7 was the most powerful social duo but Hitman are the most dominant, well-rounded duo, period
Hitmen is all Derrick. Cody can't play his own game. Look at S22; he simply coasted the aftermath of Nicole's game.
Can you do a video where you recast BB22 without using people who were actually cast on the season. Keep it as realistic as possible.
Hot take both hitmen are in the top 3 all time cody at 3 derrick at 2 dan at 1
I have cody 1
this video...old news. new news... tmrw
cody got robben 250,000k as the next season after “All Stars” had a prize pool raise
cody robbed Big Brother. he doesn't know how to play the game. Doesn't deserve a win.
I still think that chiltown was the best duo. Dr. Will is my favorite player.
Dan is my fav individual player but Will+Boogie is better than Dan+Memphis.
Dan+Memphis is about the same or maybe slightly better than Derrick+Cody.
The hitman I like them the best
It'd be dope to see a video on top 10/bottom 10 final 4s all time
Fun fact: I go to school with Christine’s niece
Derrick never hit the block however the hitmen were a secret
Combined chill town played five times which they didn't didn't place well two of the five times however they were out as an alliance from the start, so it's tough to pick one over the other
it's not even close.
Cody doesn't have that; his gameplay in S22 was subpar at best -- he simply rode the aftermath of Nicole's pettiness towards Janelle.
we need to talk about the root
Cody a good player? HAHA good content!!!
BB16 cast was so dumb, and BB22 cast were too cautious/friends with Cody. I hate that this duo gets so much credit. I’m glad Cirie was able to mop the floor with Cody on Traitors, showed how he isn’t really that good
U stupid or what? Cirie just play on Big Brother and she lost big time. What does that say then??
Chilltown>Hitmen
She prob should have won seeing as she went in the house not liked and a winner in
nicole wouldn't have deserved the win over cody. she wouldn't even beat Memphis
@@gqprince2 whether or not she deserved a win over cody, doesn't mean she wouldn't have gotten it. based on what hgs were saying at the time, it seems like it would have been a close vote, like win or lose by 1 close
@@prettyvenxm she may get ian and David's vote
Yea I think it depends what you like more of big brother players dominance or entertainment, I think the hitmen are better too but Chilltown can rival it as a close second but it goes to show which duo was closer in real life, one of the duos has a podcast they both do, and the other duo are split apart from a restraining order 😵💫
who cares about social life outside the game? Both Will and Boogie made great Big Brother moves. Cody never has.
❤️
I think will is stronger then derrick but cody is stronger then boogie
It’s funny that BB22 sucked solely because Cody was so dominant.
All way better duos than those 2
Hmm it’s almost as if I made a video last week talking about one of those duos you mentioned being the actual best duo…
(Only jokes. Those are all great duos (sorta), I was doing a series on the duos that had both members win BB)
@@Ethanimale okay now I get it. I should have actually watched lol
@@ryan979_ happens to the best of us

Cody fumbled. Derrick only cool with him bc he handed him the game
Hitmen better chill town is simply the OG
It’s still disappointing that chill town is no longer together because of legal issues
111th 😂😂
I believe Memphis and Dan also have a similar legacy, but Memphis’ second run isn’t as successful as Cody’s is.
I would say Memphis and Cody were both clueless about S22. Hence Memphis sided with the wrong team, and Cody didn't even realize there were teams.
Hit man over call town any day
Whats a call town?
The hitmen dominated 2 seasons. Derrick to me was the most dominant ever then Cody went and did the same
Derrick dominated S16. Nicole dominated the opening of S22, and so Cody just rode the aftermath like an unstoppable passed pawn.

BB22 was pathetic. I think he got lucky with Derrick doing all the work to ensure he wins preseason and got lucky with a cast of complete idiots who just handed the game to him on week 1
Sure, they were good, but at the same time they were super boring
This was the last great season of them all. Now the seasons are just strange and boring and no real game play.
Derricks game is incredibly overrated. Battle of the block ( a twist that essentially caters to a male alliance ) lasting until final SEVEN is insane and basically handed them the game. The reset button saving their goat Victoria and taking out their biggest comp threat Frankie did as well.
Here to say don’t expect people to watch a video with that rotten thumbnail. Bye
