And why didn't they just include Mohegan Bluffs under Block Island? Could then have covered other parts of the State. I'm partial to Westerly, since I grew up there, but I'm sure other Rhode Islanders would like to have seen their communities represented as well.
I agree with Woonsocket. But, I haven't lived in Rhode Island for a couple decades. But, that last few times I've been back, Providence has grown up and is geourgious. I lived there in the 70s and 80s, it was horrible then. I also appreciate the history now I'm an adult.
Funny to hear the narrator butcher "Rhude Island" and people, place names. Btw, that was not Water Place Park, it was Roger Williams Park. 9:25 is Picasso’ "The Diners" not Monet. And it’s pronounced RIZDEE not Re A Dee. Mispronounced words and errors are too numerous to mention.
Wow is this filled with miss information and strange choices for top locations. Nice videos, though some are very outdated. Amazing Wickford wasn't even mentioned, guess it was beaten out by Woonsocket. They are right about the seafood, it is really good and fresh.
Abraham lincoln was good friends with Edward harris in my hometown of Woonsocket at city hall near the harris hall entryway on the left side is a plaque for it
Yes, near New York, if you consider being on the other side of Connecticut from New York to be considered near. I get it. The states in this part of the country are smaller and, therefore, closer to one another. Bottom line, it is located in New England and bordered by Massachusetts and Connecticut. I'm not sure, but I've never heard of any other Rhode Island elsewhere. I guess I've never thought to look up whether another one exists before.
A 5 dollar donation is required, means it's not a donation... like you don't get enough money from the people already, you want more.. it should be free!!!
Although it was nice seeing RI again, the pronunciations by the lecturer were appalling! How many time she couldn’t even pronounce RI correctly, but, if she was European, couldn’t she at least pronounce Monet? One of the greatest painters that ever lived. She actually called him Mon ette! Unforgivable!
I was so hoping this wasn't going to be AI, but then my suspicions were confirmed when it said "St. Ann" like "Stit Ann"; @US Historians, is it REALLY THAT HARD to hire an *actual person* to read your scripts???
Rhode Island is beautiful, but it would’ve been nice to mention the original people indigenous Narragansett Indians before everything was wiped away from them and murdered and raped and killed just saying
Was it beautifull in the time of Indians? Noo ofc, only you would see there are wild people that will try to kill you in the name of gods. No schools no streets cars civilization.
And they weren't the only tribe to live here as I recall. I believe the Niantics and Mashantuckets also occupied lands in what has become Rhode Island.
@@WetzelpretzelsMy comment is in regards to the AI or who ever is narrating. Its was annoying. I digress. To answer your question I used to go to Narragansett beach. Online a couple times because we lived more then an hour away.
@@Wetzelpretzels The beach in Misquamicut, Westerly is as good as any in the State. We are blessed with an abundance of excellent beaches, and I would say some of the best along the East Coast. People come from far and wide to use our beaches - from around the country and even from Canada.
I won't deny your experience, but there are much worse places you could be living in the US. There is a lot to appreciate about living here. I say that after having lived a third of my life in Hawaii. There's no comparison between them from my experience, but it's still not horrible - just not Hawaii.

The way AI says Rhode Island grates my nerves as a Rhode Islander!
Absolutely!
Informative!
As a rhode islander, i can confirm it is one of the best places there.
I love the way she says "Colt State Park....Rhode Island" as if she forgot this was a video about places in R.I.😎
Nice
i'm really curious about this place because of the book "Pack up the moon by Kirstin Higgins"
People make fun of road island, but it’s so beautiful.
No mention of Cranston! I am shocked. I grew up steps away from what used to be Park View Junior High School.
How did providence get above block island, Newport and Narragansett?!? And how did Woonsocket even get on the list??

Total computer driven audio that cannot pronounce the towns or the state.
