Sadly very few loose their jobs in the banking business and those that do get hired immediately with higher salaries because the bankers know they will do whatever is necessary to get the job done and then the bankers can throw them under the bus again.
The US only fining them 19mil is pathetic. That's .0021% of their assets under management. So if they got their clients a 10% return that year, and overall they made 10% of that 10%, they'd make $900mil and that 19mil would be 2.1% of their profit That's an extremely low end of what they made, too. Believe me Germany has a gouvernment and a justice system that never touches the rich or the big companies ever. Only when other members of the top 0.1% are affected something is done. Usually they just "investigate" for a decate without any results and then say "well now it is "verjährt" (basiclly the crime has expired) so we will stop the Investigation". After one of the last big corruption scandles went public the gouvernment reduced the time needed for "Verjährung" if I remember correctly. Imagine being a DWS executive, absolutely SHOCKED that this brilliant woman is actually doing the job she was hired for. I really hope she starts a new career in corporate governance.
Real criminals are at SEC. There are thousands of fines issued by the SEC, but when you earn 5 billion $ by doing illegal stuff and then you have to pay 20 million $ fine, it's just a cost of doing business.
it is not only the SEC. it is the laws that they are only able to enforce. Also, many regulations can be blocked by any judge for almost any reason. The supreme court literally stripped the agency many of its powers. Do NOT get me started with the agency being underfunded. Back in the early 2010s, during the sequester deal, the agency's budget got axed and it never recovered until a few years ago. Now its funding will be cut again. The revolving door is another issue.
Good job following for the distraction. The SEC and judges *legally can't* fine more than a set amount. This keeps most rich people in check, but it's just change for the uber wealthy and multibillion dollar companies. If you want to hate on people, blame the people who make the laws that limit or expand the powers of regulatory agencies. You know, the partisan lawmakers that are accepting bribes from lobbies.
They are giving ESG scores just like a teacher bumping up students scores on a test to make most pass despite the fact that they all failed. They are changing the criteria to get the outcome they want.
It's all insider trading. These Wall St people are all thieves wearing suits. But if it makes the government money, they won't bat an eye to the obvious crimes being committed in broad daylight
Hey Fern. I see a lot of bots in the comment section saying horrible things in other langues. You should make a video investing where they came from and what those links go to. Just an idea.
These bots are everywhere on TH-cam. I think they use alternate languages to take advantage of moderation gaps. Pretty much every TH-camr over a million subscribers has bots like these in the comments section, sadly.
Update: I scrolled for about 20 minutes looking for any of those type of comments and found nothing. So I would presume that fern has to remove them manually. Next time I see one of those bots I'll subscribe to them and keep track on how long they function for before/if they get removed by TH-cam. Thanks for the likes BTW, and maybe I'll make a video. Let me know though.
The goal of giving her that flashy job was to improve statistics for women in high-ranking positions. They anticipated that she would fail to perform her duties.
Nah, that would have been the intention of the job to cover things up/milktoast it no matter the gender. And I find these arguments to be quite silly. A lot of people qualified for a job apply and don't get it. Doesn't mean they automatically weren't qualified if they didn't get it. There are so many subjective arbitrary reasons why one is picked over the other. Corporate social responsibility and sustainability are important parts to any big business even if they plan to bullshit it. It's about image and even about law in some cases especially in the EU (tho they get away with it anyway by doing the most to slither past). Corpos have always been corpos. It isn't suddenly more nefarious because 'oh woman'.
I worked on wall street and can confirm nobody takes this esg shit seriously. Its all just a check list at best and a joke at worst. If you really care about ESG and ethical investing you cant trust anybody's arbitrary rankings.
Why are people so much more impressed with the production than the actual content? Do we just like a good story? While these frauds get away with everything! It’s disgusting!
It's the aesthetics. We have a culture that values aesthetics over effect. These are also the same people who complain about the system they don't care about unless it involves a good looking person doing something drastic like the recent event in the healthcare industry. Look at newagain9964 comment. He's a great example of someone who values aesthetic over effect

Don't forget "American Psycho"... ...that movie shows the mindset of those in the world of finance... aside from the scenes with the chainsaw and axe of coarse. The finance industry pays politicians to start wars when they want to get rid of people between them and money. They prefer to get rid of 10's of thousands of people at a time, not one or two at a time, it's much more efficient so it gives them a better ESG score.
So, it did actually get it's name because of that. Back when NY was the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, Wall Street ran right alongside the wall that had been put up for protection of the colony
Pretty awesome that you can get your previous employer investigated and fined millions of dollars by another country's government, and STILL lose your case against them
I’ve seen a few channels similar to fern’s illustration quality/ style, but it’s consistency and depth is unmatched! Really, the visuals and content has a way of portraying the story which other channels absolutely do not
It's astounding how people who work "ESG" jobs in corporations don't realize their job is meaningless besides allowing the company to point at it and say "See? We do care about xyz". They themselves fall for it so much they apply to work in the position! Lmao
When did you reach 2.4mill subs?! I feel like it was just yesterday that you had 'ONLY' 500k subs. All of the success is well deserved, congratulations. ❤🙏🏾🎉
I was the lead software engineer for INGs Broker Application from 2019 until 2023, I learned a lot about stocks and the exchange. Once I was doing mandatory courses for regulatory purposes and found ESG, I immediately knew it was a scam. Fortunately ING has a VERY conservative take on investing and they would prevent you from investing in anything if they could. They want your money to "be there", but they don't like you touching it too much, don't deposit don't withdraw. The (accidentally) prevent you from shooting yourself on the foot. I now take any company and if I see an ESG sticker anywhere, I know not to invest in it. I do the same for DEI.
That is fucked up to be honest I say the people should protest and try to shut down the business. More pressure the government has the more they are likely to shut down.
What ever happen to that LA heist nobody ever got caught and I've heard no new info. It's like it got forgotten. And I remember it seeming like a easy inside job investigation?
This is why scum bags gravitate to banking and government just like used car salesmen. Hey there fern! Great video. Small but meaningless error: at 19:24, the narrator says dollars when the figure is actually in euros, as indicated by the screen.
Why is the FBI seal in the thumbnail made with AI? Couldn’t you just grab the real one from a simple Google search? It also says Deuische Bank instead of Deutsche Bank in the newspaper clipping. Is the entire thumbnail AI? You guys have such high production value why skip on this
Your right, no one would have an issue with taking the AI version as a first draft and then fixing/ enhancing it. But not even investing a couple of minutes so that the thumbnail looks polished shows a slop mindset.
I'm not gonna lie, "Deuische" is not really an AI mistake to make, but more clear signs to possible AI is the fact none of the S characters are consistent. The text on the FBI logo is very clearly AI's doing. There's a simple reason why they "couldn’t just grab the real one from a simple Google search", and that's intellectual property rights. The FBI actively prohibits unauthorised use of the seal. So it's probably by design, as the AI seal has enough recognition for the average viewer to click the video, while being far enough distanced from the actual seal to be definitely in the clear.
@aeginorum I disagree. A "t" does look a lot like an "i" since its only missing a small middle stroke (at least in fonts that don't curve the t). A person can clearly distinguish the two and wouldn't misstype it that way (the letters aren't even next to each other), for AI it's a lot harder since it's "close enough". For the FBI one, you can't tell me there aren't other illustrations of the FBI seal that can be used. My problem overall though isn't the use of AI but the clear lack of the most minimal effort. Fixing these things clearly doesn't take more than a couple of minutes.
@@MrForkfish Fair on the T, I haven't used AI image generators in a while cause I'm generally against their use, but from what I've seen they very rarely get them mixed up. Hence why that was my gut reaction, but again the font not being consistent is a way clearer indication. "You can't tell me there aren't other illustrations.." no that is quite literally how that works, the FBI protects the use of the seal to make sure people don't confuse something as being authorised by them. And Fern is very much for profit. That being said, my comment about it possibly being by design is probably too generous.
@aeginorum ah i get it, we have something similar in germany, where you can't use the state crests so your stuff doesn't get mixed up with the officials. Though shouldn't it be alright as long as it's contextually very clear, that it isn't an official source? (e. g. A picture on wikipedia for an article describing the FBI). But I guess it's always better to be on the safe side. What I don't get is why using an AI generated recreation would put them in the clear, unless it's currently a loophole.

Real criminals are at SEC. There are thousands of fines issued by the SEC, but when you earn 5 billion $ by doing illegal stuff and then you have to pay 20 million $ fine, it's just a cost of doing business.
THAT IS CORRECT 666%
it is not only the SEC. it is the laws that they are only able to enforce.
Where are the 5 Billion from? They have a Sales volume of 684m ,so they payed 2% and you say that isn't much?
Good job following for the distraction. The SEC and judges *legally can't* fine more than a set amount. This keeps most rich people in check, but it's just change for the uber wealthy and multibillion dollar companies. If you want to hate on people, blame the people who make the laws that limit or expand the powers of regulatory agencies. You know, the partisan lawmakers that are accepting bribes from lobbies.
axel, We are all glad you are not in charge.
ESG scores are all bs. Its just a way to determine who is in the club and who is not.

Hey Fern. I see a lot of bots in the comment section saying horrible things in other langues. You should make a video investing where they came from and what those links go to. Just an idea.
Yeah. That shit was not what I wanted to read this morning....best we can do is report, I guess.
Dope idea
UpperEchelon could help with the botting research. He maps them and has prior videos touching on how to track them.
These bots are everywhere on TH-cam. I think they use alternate languages to take advantage of moderation gaps. Pretty much every TH-camr over a million subscribers has bots like these in the comments section, sadly.
Update:
I scrolled for about 20 minutes looking for any of those type of comments and found nothing.
It isn't suddenly more nefarious because 'oh woman'.
ok now close that mouth
No senior executive ever takes kindly to the notion that their entire system is crap
Click bait title, this should have been 'How This Woman Exposed DWS" and not "How This Woman Exposed Wall Street". DWS is not Wall Street :(
@steveaustin8937
If all you're seeing is DWS then you have not taken in the underlying expose of ESG - across the corporate world.
you are right but then Wall Street is more full of crooks and druggies than columbian countries.
I specifically pulled my money from any funds doing ESG + specifically look for non-ESG funds to invest in
Wise choice. ESG & DEI sound nice, but in practice have become among the most bastardized policies.
I worked on wall street and can confirm nobody takes this esg shit seriously. Its all just a check list at best and a joke at worst.
If you really care about ESG and ethical investing you cant trust anybody's arbitrary rankings.
@JBramson you just said exactly what I came here to say.
ESG being a corrupt financial figure, what a surprise. But I'm glad this makes people more aware of this. Great video 🙏🏼
Why are people so much more impressed with the production than the actual content? Do we just like a good story? While these frauds get away with everything! It’s disgusting!
She is HOT,and smart as fuck-what was you saying?
U didn’t get the memo? It’s entertainment bruh. 🤷♂️

This showcases ESG in a nutshell, can't believe people are still blind to these 'standards' and their actual impact and demand from companies....

19$ million a hefty fine?!! Over a 460 billion fund? That's 0.004%, it's hilariously ridiculous
It's astounding how people who work "ESG" jobs in corporations don't realize their job is meaningless besides allowing the company to point at it and say "See? We do care about xyz". They themselves fall for it so much they apply to work in the position! Lmao
If more of them did their job like this lady did instead of doing or making up a paid for agenda it would all be better.

This channel is growing like crazy. Thank you, guys, for your hard work. Amazing video as always.
What's esg?

The fact that an executive at a bank can still wind up living at home with her parents is wild.
This is why scum bags gravitate to banking and government just like used car salesmen. In fact there was a big move FOR used car salemen in the 90's and 2000's to move into banking because they could not con enough informed people due to the internet. Most people only do a few loans in their life so they are easy to take advantage of.

I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, we find it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. Big thanks to Jasmine Wrubel. I now make huge profits through her services while still learning to stand on my own
Jasminewrubel analyses go beyond surface-level trends. She delves into technical, fundamental, and sentiment analysis, providing a holistic view of the market..

Hey there fern! Great video. Small but meaningless error: at 19:24, the narrator says dollars when the figure is actually in euros, as indicated by the screen.
I think he is converting the figure in Euros to dollars.
Finally a good video and explanation from an insider about the issues of ESG.
WTF how did you guys get her for an Interview? Great Video!

Filmmaker and editor here... This is such a great doc! Extremely well put together but almost ruined by an Ad placed in the middle of the video without clear cut or warning. And to make things worse an ad that promotes a company with a questionable business model. I know we all need money, but if you're making docs that talk about corruption, you need to be aware of how yourselves can come across. Please for the next videos, if you truly need to place the ad in the middle of the video, add a clear break into it, otherwise it's just misleading and could taint the entire project.
