His hands are as clean as he can get them, he is always working. Callouses are that way, all the little cuts and cracks fill with grease and dirt and they are that way until you scrub them clear off. I sand mine off with 180 grit sand paper when they get nasty, also helps when you have a dry split, the dry callouses pulls the skin apart. Looks like his finger and thumb are his pliers of choice.

I feel like the most deadly part of the trap is the rat or mouse struggling for that split second, essentially ripping the claws deeper into their body.
what we need is an automated trap similar to the water bucket ones that automatically catches the mouse in a sous vide bag, vaccum seals it, then cooks it to perfection automatically.
