It’s called sleeping in an appropriate spot like people have done in all human history. Find someplace cool, comfortable, and with all the amenities that you need to participate in society in a health safe way. Think thats perfectly needed indeed.
But,, these tent cities don't need to be moved, they need real transition into worth while lives. Something like what Portland did, but more to curb a return to the streets.
I understandably see the filth, and empty souls, drugged out waundering from place to place everytime I go into Klamath Falls, Medford or other small cities. I have lived in Seattle as a kid, left in 67-68 to Alb, New Mexico. Went thru Portland in 2022 as was shocked by the number of tarps used for shelters along the freeway in downtown, the graphitte sprayed over pass's. Reminds me of my many travels from S.E. NM to Texas along I-10 north of the cardboatd cities in Juareze Mexico. Heart breaking back then. The U.S. prints us into debt too fund far away conflicts and wars. Surely we could spend our time fixing the cause of this without printing more debt by passing laws against price gouging.
I am not for handouts by no means. In fact, there is no learned value in them, no appreciation. And in reality, it's a good lesson about making spur of the moment decisions without for thought. Electing wrong leadership just so you can have legalised pot or safe meth house's does not make an un qualified candidate,, qualified too lead a State. Seems to me the States that did all the legalizations,, have the highest numbers of non workable homeless population's.
I could be wrong,, I drink too much, I know it. But when young, did drugs, pot and drank! To many good days were lost in my foolishness and to many costly visits to the jail house.
Now 68,, I moderate my alcohol consumption in the confines of home. No pot, no drugs. Drugs, even alcohol cause more of these problems than young minds believe.

If the temporary shelter is listed as a 501c charity,, and there overhead is 98% of funding to keep it open, paid for the entire 12 month calender year, but empty,, WHY?? I'tell ya why. It keeps them in a shadow buisness effectively eligiable for continued funding. Empty shelters?? Thats not non-profit CHARITY in my taxpaying eyes.
