I honestly think Link is stronger. For one, Mario uses power ups to defeat enemies. Link only has a sword and a shield to defeat monsters 10x his size. Link has the triforce of courage. What does Mario have? Nothing. Link is way stronger than Mario in my opinion
+Exo- L Mario fire flower can do some damage to link if link isnt cautious. Ice flower is what that can really turn the tide. that means link has to watch out. Mario is obviously stronger even if link has the golden gauntlets. here's the math: Link's golden gauntlets lift 1000 tons as deathbattle stated. however, Mario can pick up entire enemies, can destroy entire castles in a matter of seconds by kicking them repeatedly. also u can see the strength of mario in the movies (especially in SMB Z, Kai, and GT.) Link does have items that do magic, like time stopping, but mario crystal star "clock out" does the same thing. Speed: it's very hard to know this but im calling it a tie. Defense: this one goes to link, but mario's megaton hammer and his agility counters this, but that is for Agility. Agility: Mario Powerups and items: without their most powerful ones (gold tanooki and Fierce Deity), a tie. also remember that mario's skills are only fully present in Super Smash Bros even though it is non-canon. again u have to be a good player to defeat the bosses in Zelda. the triforce does nothing, because once u collect it the game ends. sidekicks: Mario due to how op rosalina is. Also Mario's star spirits, Crystal stars, and items are very powerful, and link has nowhere to escape if mario used the earth tremor followed by star storm (7 damage) so mario will be in a huge lead. let's say link has 20 hearts and each heart=2 hp. that may be why I THINK Mario wins. after all, I main Mario in Super Smash bros. before you link fans flame, this is only MY OPINION, and there is no ACTUAL winner, because they're all inmaginary charcters.

Realistically Mario takes this. In super mario world, he can kick a castle away. The castles are shown to be huge when Mario walks into them. If the castle kick is meant to be taken literally, then he can probably win this fight with his extreme strength, and wide arsenal.
