    My band uses them and we have a Zoom L-20 mixer that pairs nicely. We also have one of the turbosound 12" wedge monitors and a Turbosound Milan 18b 2200w sub and together it thumps!

    How do these compare to a pair of Bose L1 M2 with single B2's?

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are asking about sound comparison, I think the iP is every bit as good if not better. It is always tough to answer questions like this because everyone has their own opinion about how a speaker sounds and performs. 10 different people could give 10 different accounts of how a particular speaker sounds to them.
      If you like the Bose L1, I would say you would like the iP2000. If you are not thrilled with the Bose, I would say there is still a chance that you might like the iP. Best thing to do would be to go hear a demo of them if you can. I think you would be impressed.

    Did the sound from both system fill the auditoriam well. Full bass sound and clear. I use yamaha dxr 115 tops

      Tim, yes it did. The sound was very clear, without any processing and it covered all the way to the back. The last row of seats in the overflow sections are about 90' from the stage. And the subs doing a surprisingly good job of putting out some strong low end. These iP2000s are really impressive.

    the thing that kind of worries me is the wattage. Does it sound like it's underrated? My buddy loves these I've only heard them once when I stopped by at a bridal expo he was doing. From what I remember they sounded good. I'm considering these because my kw181 sub is 88lbs. I love the bass though. Idk if these two 12's would be enough for my liking. My buddy says with two towers he could do 350-400 people. I gig by myself and love how light the sub is and towers. When I put my two tops into their flight case it becomes like 100lbs.

    • @neolightproductions
      @neolightproductions 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd basically shave off 140 lbs if I did my math right.

    • @GoodSoundsLLC

      Without knowing exactly what you do and what your preferences are with sound reproduction, it is really hard for me to say what would be appropriate for you. I can tell you that I just did an outdoor gig for a catholic mass. Now, that wouldn't necessarily seem like a big audio job to test these systems but they basically had an entire band with guitars, keyboard, drums and 3 vocals. People were amazed by the sound they were hearing, especially at the distance some of the folks were sitting.
      It really comes down to what compromises you might need to make or be willing to make. I think the subs do a great job, but I can't say for sure that they are enough for you. Now having said that, I think they could do a very good job for you; enough for you to say that possibly giving up some low end would definitely be worth the convenience gained by having much more portable systems. And the clarity and performance is incredible!
      As you probably saw from the video, it is pretty easy to carry a sub and both towers at the same time. I know that if I needed to, I could carry a sub in each hand and both sets of towers, all at the same time.
      Not sure if my reply was helpful or not, but I am more than happy to answer any other questions you might have. If you would like to get some pricing on these systems, let me know. Thanks!

      Yes. As soon as we get some time, we are going to produce a video of them being used by a local DJ in one of his gigs, and also with a full band either rehearsing or on the job. Stayed tuned!

      what is your pricing on a set? Is it easy to use the presets on the rear of the speaker for mobile DJ applications for weddings and karaoke shows? How many guests at a wedding do you think a pair would handle without limiting or clipping? Would it work well with my Yamaha MG12XU mixer? Good for vocals such as singing?

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jon, thanks for the inquiry. Send me an email at
      info@goodsounddesign.com and I will get you some pricing. To answer you
      other questions:
      1. Yes the presets and setting on the system are pretty simple to use. All of those can be accessed through bluetooth as well. I found when setting up in the auditorium that very little was needed in terms of processing to get the system to sound good.
      2. The second question is a little harder to answer because every one has a different idea of what is an appropriate volume for their events. Being a live sound guy, I am all about clarity first and volume later. These systems are definitely clear. In terms of volume, if I was a DJing a wedding, I would be comfortable covering at least 400 people without risk to the systems.
      3. The iP2000s will work easily with any mixer.
      4. Yes, the iP2000 is a good choice for vocals, very clean and intelligible.
      I hope this helps answer your questions and increases your interest in the Turbosound iP series. Thanks Jon!

      Thank you for the quick response and answers. How do you think they would compare to other powered mains. I realize these are column speakers. Many mains drop off after a certain distance or sound very loud when close to the speakers. I own the Yamaha DXR series 10's and 15's mains currently and the Yamaha DXS 15 '" powered sub. Thinking of trading in the 15 mains for a pair of 2000s. I own 3 15" speakers and covers for them. Looks like an easier setup. I am big on covers for everything.

    Well we certainly do regret that it has come so far without being resolved. Our return system is 99% email correspondance, and we do come across certain email clients that don't accept our incoming emails. We as well have the records to show for it, but that is not important. Please call us in the am to get you settled. The RMA is ready.

      I don't know because you can't manually adjust that in the system.

      No, there is no information in the manual related to where the sub crossover is. Sorry.

    • @davidknighton2735
      @davidknighton2735 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could remove the column and run pink noise through the sub, then monitor with a simple RTA to estimate the X-over point.

    just for the record, its not bad ,but , the sound on the back was anoing, the rest was good.TY for your test.

  • @officialWWM
    @officialWWM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Surely it's designed to be set up on the floor, not the stage!? Setting it up on a stage that height will have the sound shooting over everyone's heads with the people in front getting a face full of sub woofer!

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Darren Turner that’s right. We just set it on stage for the purposes of listening to the system in an auditorium space.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Sounds Im sure a full audotorium would sound a lot different to an empty one as well!

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Darren Turner Agreed but it’s tough to demo a system in front of a full house. We were just trying to get an idea of how the system performs.

    The ONLY thing that I don't like..........no built-in effects :(

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand, especially if you are looking for a very scaled down system where you don’t have a mixer with DSP. However, the new iP3000 systems do have onboard reverb built in.

    • @richardwalker4903
      @richardwalker4903 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish that TurboSound would intergrade effects into all of their new models. I have the iP2000 and I absolutely love it!!

  • @prouserprouser9646

    why do these companies spend all there time and money on potentially great systems that only deliver small SPL? and then the year after make another one slightly louder that are still not loud enough,and struggle to sell them in the market place?

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess you would need to ask the manufacturer those questions. However, claiming that these systems aren't loud enough is relative. What might not be loud enough for some is more than loud enough for others. It all depends on the venue and application the systems are being used for. The idea behind portable, powered systems is their ease of use and setup while maintaining clear, clean sound. They are not designed to be used for large events and large size venues. I have used many of these types of systems for bands and events and have had no problems covering the space effectively. And as an AV integrator and retailer of live sound equipment, I can say that these powered portable systems have no struggles at all selling in the market place.

    • @verrettproductions3487
      @verrettproductions3487 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      pro user pro user I totally agree depends on the gig. This system sounds great and isn't to obtrusive. I have two of them for small Dj gigs and also have k10's and 2 kw 181. If there's more older people the ip2000's are my choice over the qsc's.

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! The application will dictate the system that is needed. 8 channel mixers are great for folks who only needs 6 channels but would cause complications for a 6 piece band. It is all relative.

    They lost me with that cheesy, fragile looking, connector pin set up. One mishap, broken or bent pins and your system is worthless.

    • @GoodSoundsLLC
      @GoodSoundsLLC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have to disagree with that. The connecting pins/receptacles on the both the columns and the subs are very durable. And the pins on the columns are recessed inside a larger outer protective rim. I don't see them as being cheap or fragile or vulnerable at all. It would take some deliberate force to cause damage to them, and with that said, that could apply to just about any piece of audio equipment on the market today.

    • @249Jackson
      @249Jackson 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used these for numerous wedding receptions up to 300 people, large barns, large square buildings, outside, for two years. They are extremely durable, and I have used the Bose L1 as well; finding the connection on these are much more stable. There are no quality control issues at all with either the durability and connection to the towers. I hardly do a reception without 'sound experts' complementing the pure & clear sound of the ip2000.
