gojo was forced by the powerless to hold up the sky. that inversión in his ideals from the debate in the start of the flashback shows how he has taken on the shitty burden or being an adult like Nanami has spoken of. while he clearly finds joy in fighting he also finds great pain in being the one to watch so many people around him die, physically or spiritually. to care is to open yourself up to be vulnerable.
i love that his conviction in the whole goal of raising a strong next generation is nearly delusionally faithful, saying those like yuta and hakari can surpass him, because the loneliness of that position is miserable. he definitely knows the situation is currently untenable and the current jujutsu society has to fall and be reformed. i think he’s desperate for it because he’s deeply lonely and in pain and the only person he ever connected to before his untouchable barrier was up 24:7 is gone. to no longer be the one that everyone always relies on, and to just be a bro like he was with geto, to be satoru, and not the strongest, is so inexorably tied in with his goal of raising a new generation. the curse of strength.
how this common power fantasy in shounen is nowhere as cool as it would seem. either you’re chained to duty or a heartless self serving, cold god.
i love how like nanami, he suffers for having a heart, despite gojo being a near deity strength wise. we see mei mei only care about herself and what directly aids her and she got out scot free. if gojo thought like her none of shibuya would have happened, like you said. but that’s not who he is. heroes just don’t work. there are no real conventional heroes in JJK. just dedicated yourself to a cause bigger than you, watching the inexhaustibly cruel world chew you up and spit you and hoping you did just enough for the next generation to carry on from where you had it.
    SPOILERS
    SPOILERS
when gojo dies i think he said how overwhelmingly strong sukuna is because he finally is able to be satoru, and not the strongest. he lets down what is revealed to be this facade of confidence and lets us know he is capable of being scared. he was fighting scared but still couldn’t bring himself to kill megumi. a near god, handicapped by a human heart till the end. he projects this untouchable aura of confidence to make everyone else feel safer. he burned himself up to keep everyone else as cozy as possible under his warmth. to give everyone the one thing he never could have. the burden of knowledge versus the bliss of ignorance.
JJK is so lightning quickly paced it doesn’t really explore this stuff or flesh it out as much as a story could interestingly explore them. i think writing a manga in shounen jump is like being a jujutsu sorcerer. it chews you up and spits you out. Gege was compared to Gojo by his editor. it’s well known Gojo is hated by Gege. i can’t help but think being the writer of a story we all love, and struggling with the pain and sickness of doing so, to watch us fans love it so much, is a parallel to how Gojos life went. but i think these ideas are all so grounded in real life reflection of how the world works that Gege leaves so much to chew on, even if he does or doesn’t realize it. it’s like how Fate uses characters as representations of ideals and how they play out in the world more than characters as actual real people. i wish he explored all this stuff more and wrote a 1000 chapter manga where he had time to really flesh it out. but nonetheless, the countless connections that can be made make me feel like Gege is great at reflecting on human nature and putting it into writing to watch the fallout of their ideals.
jjk requires you to read between the lines, and shounen fans might just miss it and think it’s all just cool fights. i guess it all comes down to what do you think when someone asks , “what kind of woman is your type?”
thanks for being one of the ones who took some time to look deeper. i’ll always mourn how this series is so good but simultaneously left so much on the table. is gege or shounen jump more to blame? who knows.

what an indepth comment! You're right, gojo's wish to raise a next generation that can surpass him is very closely tied to everything else that he struggles with. Thank you so much for watching!

@@zarinthel lol sorry I went crazier than I expected with the voice to text 😭 thank you for making a great breakdown video on this series! Always grateful to find a quality one that isn't about "ooh they jumping him!" Or "my dad is stronger than your dad" type energy.
You've got a good style and have definitely earned a subscriber, wishing you the best, I'll be checking out your other vids :)

Side note: Toji regained control only for a brief moment, he recognized Megumi and that’s why he killed himself so he wouldn’t regress and start trying to kill the strongest again while he had the chance

Out of all of this the big thing you clearly don’t understand is Toji. Everything else was solid to listen to

The jujutsu kaisen world probably won't have a happy ending, it was doomed from the start and with gege akutami's personality we already know that this anime will be tragedy

I know this is only a personal opinion. I think this video is better than every single episode of the show.

Very good analysis!! I’m just confused by what you mean about mimiko and nanako being the only non cursed members of his inner circle? Mimiko and nanako *are* cursed users. Mimiko uses rope and a stuffed toy as part of her cursed technique as seen in JJK 0. The phone is part of nanako’s cursed technique as well (image manipulation I assume).

Really good analysis, but your voice volume is super low relative to the music.
