Starbase 80 reminds me of how crazy communities built around hellmouths would get in Buffy, it's great. Like maybe the space station was constructed in an area of spacetime that was warped in a way undetectable by 3 dimensional entities. I remember reading some fan discussion about how Q was treating humans as the proto-ancestors to a species that will rival his own and go beyond the stars; given the Starbase's relative "low tech" nature, I wonder if something was guiding it and ensuring it was primed for it's position as a multiversal port authority. It would be cool as hell if it turned out that the entity behind that actually guided Starbase 80 to exist in all quantum realities and be fit for duty.
You know why Captain Freeman is a horrible captain? One of her crew is having a mental breakdown about a place and her answer is "Let's force you to join the away team going there because... uh...."
1:22-1:24 Bruh...😳😳 This is the worst station on the quadrant 😬😬. They are all in shock and panic that Starbase 80 is the worst station in Starfleet. 3:24-3:25 Lol🤣🤣

Not even! Transporter is broken so they use Decon Chamber? Don't even have protein sequencer (ENT) or Food synthesizer (TOS)? Rely on Wall Comms (ENT/TOS) It feels more like one of the first "big" Starbase Earth had, then shove it somewhere forgoten.
I know it's a comedy, but shouldn't a Starbase have manufacturing capability? Maybe not building ships from scratch but certainly able to churn out components when necessary.
I don't think they have the tech lol Look at their uniforms, they probably haven't seen equipment like that in decades Starfleet basically either forgot about it completely, or they keep it like that on purpose to have it as a place to vanish people
Starbase 80 looks like the only place in Star Trek you'd see a Techpriest from 40K.
"We need to light the incense to appease the Machine Spirit!"
All fun and games till they start Labotimizing crew members for more CPU.
@@TheClutchWin That was literally an episode in _Enterprise_ 😅
"Damn Starbase 80!" 😂😂
Boimler's beard is growing on me. he's not quite a Riker yet, more like a 20 year old art college student.
I like how quick Freeman was to shut off the thing that was shocking two of her officers.
Didn't send them for a medical checkup though if she did she would've found out they were possessed by a space electricity ghost
@@devinnall2284 If she did she probably would have gotten infected. If someone else did it that's probably what happened to them.
@@devinnall2284 You joking or is that the genuine twist?
@Elmithian Yes that is literally what happens

Looks like Mariner isn't too excited about going back to Starbase 80 since she hate that place so much more than the rest of the Cerrito crews.
However the StarBase 80 is the worst station on the Starfleet 😬😬
Can you blame Mariner?
I have her reaction to something that's not good...
@@jonathanhernandez8285even her mom agrees with her
@@jonathanhernandez8285 No, I don't blame her. She was banished there by her mom because she mistrusted her and it reminds her of that experience.
"I'm a positive person now. I love algae." I think about that line daily.
You know she's stressed when she says Mom

Why am I not surprised Ransom likes lubing up?
Am I the only one who thinks that ransom might’ve been a gigolo at one point?
You know why Captain Freeman is a horrible captain? One of her crew is having a mental breakdown about a place and her answer is "Let's force you to join the away team going there because... uh...."
Mariner was there for less than a minute. She can suck it up.
Besides, she's not an ensign anymore. She's an officer. She has to fucking deal with the responsibility of that position.
She's also the only crew member who's been to that station so they kinda need her there to help them avoid dangers they wouldn't expect otherwise.
@@Athetos_Admech So basically op is an idiot
They also don’t have a choice if the ship is facing serious malfunction.

i like this new hairier boimler
Did anyone notice that the whale on the right side was promoted to full lieutenant?
The heck is Boimler doing with his wetsuit? You take them off by peeling DOWN!
Boims trying to get out of a wetsuit is very accurate to how getting out of a wetsuit is
I like that captain of SB 80
Mariner definetly changed in seson 5 and for the better
Agreed with you 💯💯

Starbase 80 definitely has its bad side, but it's great for protecting a temporal universe tunnel!
Are we being given subtle hints that this isn't the same Boimler?
I like 80 they wear nx flight suits.
They must be at the very end of the Starfleet hand me down chain. Which means there are places which still use TOS uniforms.
No wonder why starbase 80 is so bad it's still using TOS era technology

Wait if the nav deflector is damaged wouldn't their long range sensors be offline as well?
The navigation processor is what was damaged. Im pretty sure that without it they can’t tell where they are going at warp.
It's the navigational processor. Not having the deflector at warp is a more... spontaneous disassembly type of badness.
