I had a C63S AMG Edition One with a stage 1 tune and it was amazing. Every time I got into that car it was an experience with that V8 BiTurbo screaming each time I’d stomp the pedal down. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see myself in the new version. A plug in hybrid with a 4 cylinder engine? No thanks. Upgraded to a 911 and left Mercedes in the rear view mirror.

Have you seen what the Mercedes v8 e hybrid power train on other Mercedes cars? S63 SE, GT63 SE and the SL63 SE - they are all over $200k and faster than any other car. Mercedes couldn’t give this car the v8 and price it at $100k.
Although that is true, a regular M3 comp xdrive would have been a better opponent since the Merc is all wheel drive and that M3 is not just less pricey that the AMG it came in even quicker than the CS

But I’d never want to be lugging around an extra 900lbs which not only impacts acceleration but also braking and cornering abilities.

No proper channel or journalists have done it properly. both hagerty and this channel have bizarrely chose to race the c63 against the waaaay more expensive m3cs like the m3 comp doesnt exist. no idea why all these "reputable" people are doing this. i think the difference between a comp and the c63s is about $9k where as this comparison the difference is $32k.
I’m just trying to remember when customers were calling for Mercedes to take the C 63 AMG and make it a 2 L turbo charged. I don’t understand why these people do that. Nobody wants a four-cylinder turbo charged hundred thousand dollar plus vehicle that gets its ass handed to it by a car with 100 less horsepower. They must have taken a page out of the dodge book.

I love these vids but watching them brake through braking zone pains me to watch. They could have braked much later in the M3 CS…stand on those brakes as hard as you can, then release pressure to rebalance the car and enter the corner. 🙂

This race ended at 0:28 with the 4800 lb weight on the C63. That's what a Lucid Air touring weighs. But it would beat both of these cars handily while in better luxury and with a complete class up in space plus a frunk and lower price. It would also look better doing it and beat them by 100 mi in range lolol. It's getting more and more difficult to see the point of gas cars for the road.
I love these races, I'd be interested to see them supplemented by a straight up roll race. I know in this case the BMW would still win, but id be curious to see by how much when you take the launch out of the equation
When carwow did 3 roll races between them, the C walked away from the M3 each time. So yeah, the C doesn't do well in a drag but from a roll it's a beast.

How is that real world? If ur going to race someone they have to know it. Then after that u just click m1 or m2 on ur steering wheel (whatever u programed to have launch control sportiest settings) hold the brake down then the gas and it stays engaged for 5 full seconds. For u to race at a stoplight u have to be at the front and at the front u can see when the other lane turns yellow--red. Once u see that ur good to go. I've raced 3 cars in my m4 comp xdrive and never once had an issue. I don't understand that logic u have at all. If someone wants to race u can't just gas it at a stoplight u have to let the person know or u will just look like a dummy flying off and acting cool

Bmw m3 comp xdrive does 0-60 2.8 sec and 11.0 quarter mile. It would be the same result AMG loses.
