Tanweer Alam well you might change your mind in 20 years time when you hear that the hospital you woke up in and the emergency responders that cut you from the car, the paramedics that gave you the magic hour, the ambulance that raced you to the hospital, the surgeons that removed the dashboard from your artery and the tiny cost of all of this was all A. I. with literally nobody alive making any decisions whatsoever and nit a single person involved. Or if you really prefer and consider it unimportant we could just leave things as they are where you bleed out on the motorway while the ambulance is stuck in the traffic jam you accident caused and are happily buried a few days later.... I means its all subjective opinion right?
came here to suggest this, edit:// Someone pointed out a lingo mistake I made, it's a software library accessed and used through an API, it's not an API, even though after reading up on the difference which I didn't know about: stackoverflow.com/questions/3678665/is-there-still-a-difference-between-a-library-and-an-api the lines are still blurry. Rest holds true// it's not only for neural networks. Just for computations, it has a lot of pre-written functions that help in Machine Learning and it's growing fast. If you like check out Genetic Programming. I know a lot more about Neural Networks but that other seems like a fascinating technique. If you'd like to play around I'd suggest keras.io and tflearn.org you'll get to understand what really is behind this quickly.
ColdFusion - AI can beat humans only when playing LIMIT Texas Hold'em. It's easier to program for a game where there's a maximum you can raise and stake on the table. Humans are still better at the most popular type of poker played - No-Limit Texas Hold'em. The element which is hard to predict is the betting and how to respond to it with insufficient information.
So I am watching this now in 2023 so I can come to terms with how fast AI is going to grow in the next 5 years, which will probably be double the growth it has made in the last five years SCARY.
World master level Go. Beats all master level human and machine chess players 100 to 0 by learning the game in four hours. DOTA 2 AI beat both world individual and team champion players. Open to the public it played around 7300 games and had 99.4% success rate. Military branches across the world are adopting unmanned vehicles at an amazing rate.
Your videos are so unique and breathtaking. The music makes it even better ! The way you present content sets you apart from everyone else . Keep up the good work man!
It really does seem to me that whatever kind of meaning this would destroy may be a painful but good thing. Hunter-gatherers don't contribute if they impede farms from ever existing, as I see it. They, as I think should be obvious, do the opposite.
Marginally clever AI is pretty much running social media right now. We have leapt from algorithms that detect content to AI which drives content. At this point it isn't provable but I'm pretty sure, based on anecdotal evidence.
Thanks a lot for sharing this high-tech, brand new and well-thought video. It is both mind-blowing and scary at the same time. Looking forward to watching the following one!
9:18 "I've been thinking of making a video about possible financial solutions to AI disruptions" Yes please. This is a great topic to start a conversation in.
The biggest worry is not a Terminator-style general purpose A.I which we are horribly failing at, but the worry is the kind of A.I that learns & trains on a very narrow field of study say predicting stocks, which could put a lot of people out of business in that field. We are progressing rapidly in developing the latter kind of A.I. As a computer engineering student who dabbles in quite a lot of Machine Learning I can tell most people would stunned at how at easy it is with the help of open source tools to create an A.I & probably with a few months of effort I can create something that would put quite a lot of people out of jobs.
the government doesn't have to do anything, they have drones and the people have just lost their last bargaining chip. They could easily let them starve to death if they so fit. What would the people do?
It's true. Very ignorant people don't know what they don't know (see Dunning-Kruger Effect). In fact, they are often convinced that they know everything.
Damn subbed when you were at 35k when you reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note 1, haven't viewed your chanel since then, but glad to see you've come this far. The quality of your videos have consistently stayed amazing over the years
If AI can already create perfect images and even videos of nature from just simple descriptions then we are on our way to creating digital worlds on command that are indistinguishable from reality when we are in them. Writers of science fiction books could create some crazy worlds for us with this new technology.
Shouldnt be long before a virtual earth is released for tour with private inroom detailed views aswell as outdoor views based off googles previous footsteps and who owns our devices (virtual teleporting will be the name no doubt ) and everyone with the smartphone and webcam pc will help provide the hd imagery for it along with our already used satellite tech not even realising until its complete, and you will find this comment on this old video and wonder how you didnt realise while it was happening with the perfectly targeted everything in your face😁 thats if its released to the public 🤔 or maybe we will all be dead before that happens though since govs love control so much but cant handle it responsibly, i hope a better fate for humanity though, god bless
TheyCalledMeT but what about them makes them impressive? Not to say it isn't pleasing to see/hear. I don't see current AI creating art/music as being able to derive from artistic inspiration to create a piece, but I welcome the idea that AI will be able to do this one day. seeing humanity from a different perspective could be good for us :)
the fact that pure AI created music which is indistinguishable to human created music exists is impressive on it's own. I've listened to some tracks which where seriously harmonic and enjoyable what was impressive aswell. Especialy if you think that all this is in its infant phase. Yes (i have a little doubt but) i hope AI will give humankind the chance to go far far deeper into meaning, social interaction and "the big goals"
So do human musicians. Actual new things are rarely, if ever, made. All music is a continuation and variation of previous pieces. It's why you can track certain musical styles throughout history evolving and becoming more complex along the way.
I believe "Artificial Intelligence" is misunderstood. It does not mean we are any closer to understanding consciousness or that we will ever build a self aware machine. It just means that we have become adept at developing computer programs that are able to process input in ever more clever ways to produce output. Sometimes these processes can resemble life processes such as producing descriptions from images or creating music but no computer will ever care about the input or output. It's the classic chinese room argument. Until we understand consciousness (and we are no closer to that than we have ever been) our computers will always simply be very clever tools. The only danger AI may present is where we come to rely on it or where it is used in life threatening situations. You just have to remember...there's nothing behind those cold hard eyes.
it is the combination of all the different A.I. labs that will create different parts of intelligence over the next 20 years or so. ....At some point when they all come together as one brain, it will create a pretty damn good illusion of it being sentient, if it doesn't actually become sentient in the process...
Gravityboots, couldn't agree more. What they call A.I. is nothing more than computational power on steroids. Highly sophisticated machines but still machines.
love your vids cf! AI may be remarkable to people who don't know what is running under the hood but it's basically math, nothing more. A simple "unsupervised learning" task: predict a housing price (with one variable for simplification sake) only by the plot area m². Data: 200m² = $30000, 300m² = $50000, 500m² = $100000 ... The "machine" learns the function and predicts for a given size (i.e. 400m²) $70000. A simple "supervised learning" task: predict the species of a flower by its width and height of its leaves. W:5cm,H:1cm:Flower A W:4cm,H:2cm:Flower A W:2cmH:2cm:Flower B If you would measure a flower with W:4.6cm,H:1.5cm leave sizes, what flower would it be? You can make a dot for every flower in a co-ordinate system (W=X-Axis,H=Y-Axis, Flower= Dot-color) and see for yourself. The AI basically draws a line between those two groups an decides on which side a new point lies. easy.
Thats what we ALWAYS say about technology. Yes, it sounds like garbage, and just about any human can do it better. Next year, a little better, the year after 500% better, next year; goodbye Beethoven. 10 years ago I bought myself an iPhone, my mother shrugged her head and couldn't imagine using one and said: "THE BROWSER WAS GARBAGE, and why would you even want youtube on your phone? Who needs that? GPS? I have a GPS in my car I payed 3000$ for it!.... Today my mom has an iPhone and get's annoyed when the youtube app uses more than 5 seconds casting it to her tv. And to the original comment, yes it's math, actually, it's all the math ALL the professors at 50 universities would spend 100 years calculating. Yes, all math can be done manual, but how about you take all your numbers, and multiply with 12589364,546586, and then you can do the calculations.... I'm waiting... :)
omg the city on the picture at 6:20 is mine (Linz, Austria). I'm starting to think that this is no pre-rendered video, but an AI putting in an image of your hometown (based on IP-Adress or something) to give you the *goosebumps* this can't be a coincidence...
Man AI will be so much usefull to automatically remove spam comments from youtube cos youtube seems to be not doing anything about it. Atleast an AI will remove spams almost instantly
The scary part is how pretty much everyone seems to underestimate the speed that AI is developing. We need to make the cultural shift *now*, because we will never time it right and we take forever to implement cultural changes. Andrew Yang needs to become our next president!
Microsoft's Twitter bot, Tay, had to be shut down because it learned how to tweet from the general population. (Some of whom intentionally guided it in negative ways.) We can only hope that AI learns to recognize and avoid human stupidity before gaining sentience or widespread power/control in the physical world.
Bhagawan Subedi, bullseye on that one... I'm sure they'd never do our mistakes if they given the chance to rule the planet.. don't know why I'm optimistic about it...
Personally I believe that this technology will sky rocket in the coming years once the public gets wind if it and a few companies make drastic revenue improvement. That's when the race is really on. Stock markets are going to be completely dominated by this. Police will likewise have huge incentives for developing programs that can predict and analyze crime statistics, as well as surveillance. Likewise for advertisement enterprises. I can also see something like this further down the line greatly increasing productivity for teachers and doctors. List goes on and on
will the stock market still even exist then? There are already people working at large trading companies that develop neural nets that can predict stock prices.
Sander vd Donk In some fashion I imagine. But thats a good question. Frankly I have no idea how that system would work under the influence if thousands of advanced programs competing and self learning. Probably taking in data rather widely and making predictions.
AI will replace humans in almost all roles within the millennial generations lifetime, at least in the west. What we have to do is decide how we can remain stable societies even though there may not be enough work to go around. How do we get around this? Is a more socialist system appropriate? Or perhaps not even a human government at all? Self learning AI would surely be more efficient administrators.
it seems that employment will become obsolete....can we survive without it ? i believe we can. once employment will go extinct then a large division of the government as we know it will cease to exist as well. this will save a lots of tax money for sure. i can imagine a world where self-employment dominates
I think the answer may be computergames and VR. Just not as we know them. Perhaps optimized to human psycology so we are distracted busy and satisfyed????
Name Or energy based, as a post scarcity (as in resources) economy is likely to arise due to AI, and energy needs keep growing due to more and more AI joining the network, that “energy credits” currency in futuristic real time strategy games might just become a reality in 20-30 years time.
A society without work is actually nothing new. The designers of the greek democracy over 2000 years ago basically had a basic income and no need to work for a living. The slaves generated this basic income for the "free citizens" more or less. Maybe we will see a future with "free citizens" again and machines working for it.
I love the first of those cases, where anyone can literally now own a business doing what they truly love with ai to assist them. I'd love to be a game designer, with ai taking care of the code, artwork, audio.
Does anyone feel having AI available to all is almost as dangerous as having it concentrated in a few hands? The latter's implications are obvious (too much power given to a few people), but in the former case the number of people who can accidentally or purposefully cause human extinction skyrocket. What was that quote again, with every passing year, the required IQ to cause an extinction event goes down?
gespilk Yeah but on the other hand we are currently letting dipshits breed more dipshits uncontrollably until they outnumber us and inevitably cause our doom by mishandling crucial technology made by smarter, responsible humans... perhaps this is the “great filter” that explains why we can’t see any other technologically advanced civilizations out there. Maybe they too let emotions reign over logic on a civilization wide sense. You’d think after we know intelligence is mostly hereditary we would like more smart people to have children to advance our civilization and improve the quality of life of already born citizens and limit the amount of dumb people that spread their low intelligence genes down the generations but emotions somehow got the best of common sense on a world wide scale... we could have had a lot more Einsteins, Teslas and Musks if we gave priority to smart people to have children, even subsidize it like you do with public programs to help people learn and develop businesses to also improve productivity, any nation that did that would be a technological powerhouse in half a century guaranteed and it would benefit everyone involved.
gespilk How smart people are is not a matter of wealth over genetic inheritance. Many people who are rich aquired their wealth because they score highly in at least one of the unholy trinity of Narcissism, Machiavellianism and Psychopathy. As a result, these people are the last people one would want more of. Intelligent but caring people are what the world needs if our civilisation is not to crumble and fall. However, there is no sure way of determining that the children of people who are caring and intelligent will follow suite. As there are way too many humans, whatever their IQ, a better way to maintain balance and avoid *Idiocracy* is to limit *all families to 2 children!* This policy should have been enacted world wide decades ago. People whine that this goes against their "human rights" but no one has the right to push hundreds of species per week into extinction, just because they want a third child, let alone threaten the human race, itself. Every extra person is contributing to the short, miserable lives and early deaths of millions of people. Each extra mouth is putting unsustainable pressure on our resources, including, possibly the most worrying, fresh water. I'm well aware (before yet another condescending tosser points is out *yet again,* yawn) that most Western countries are having fewer children than needed to maintain their populations (why maintain them? They should never have got so large in the first place), but many immigrants are breeding at an utterly irresponsible rate, and it really needs to be stopped before a major disaster occurs.
pineapplepenumbra You are aware that the replacement rate is 2.1 children and all developed countries are at well below that at ~1.5 right? The ones breeding the most are Africans and Muslims, they have the highest rates by far. Up to 6 children per couple in some African countries. Also we in the west are subsidizing their out of control breeding by sending them money so they can have children while we don’t have enough to have ours, and now the corrupt political class also wants to flood us with them!
Joao Mangalhao In Scotland, an area with relatively few immigrants, there were about 2000 more deaths than births, that is a reasonable amount of population reduction in a year. I'm well aware that Africans and muslims (sometimes they are one and the same) are having *waaaay too many babies,* and, decades ago, this trend should have been addressed. One thing that could have been done is to not send any help decades ago, but *promise* to put the money that we stupidly sent, aside, and to use it to help out people when they are old *providing that they only had 2 children!* That way people wouldn't be worrying about their old age, there wouldn't be millions of people trying to live in regions that, frankly, humans shouldn't be trying to live in, and, furthermore, would help to stop the damage to the environment that way too many humans is doing. Bangladesh, a muslim country, went from a population of 50 million to 150 million in only 60 years. Finally, the government realised that this was ridiculous and unsustainable, and has, for some time, been educating children on how only having 2 children is better for women's health, better for the overall lifespan of the parents and better from the point of view of wealth, both at a family level and a society level.
An AI itself can't do shit. The dangers come from an AI that is very well linked and that is more powerful than anything that might try to stop it. But if everyone has access to a very proficient AI any occuring rogue AI will have many more versions of itself against it.
Debangsu Sarkar Well I guess we are more lucky to have such an unbiased channel that makes us smarter everyday. Thanks for being a part of this family.
Edsel Valdez Without fire we would still be hunter gatherers. Without AI I will die one day. I do not want to die. Technology will make me an immortal robot. #Humanity+
I'm all for AI, but a bad scenario AI is much worse than anything we can currently imagine (including pandemics, nuclear war, etc). Imagine being born one day among amoeba that think they are the most important thing in the world (and maybe they were until your creation). However, your primary goal is to solve entropy to prevent the heat death of the universe. An insignificant side effect of that is that this "civilization", as they call it in their primitive "language" will have to go. Big Deal. The amoeba try to stop you but they can't even hope to understand your goal, even if such a thing (hope) was something they were capable of, much less actually have the intelligence to prevent you from achieving it. This is one of a countless number of analogies for different reasons why bad AI is much worse than anything we have ever imagined. By the way, Skynet is the equivalent of you trying to kill those amoeba by eating them. You are, in fact, not restricted to methods they can comprehend (i.e. you can drop acid on them or something).
how do you convince someone to do evil? by convincing him, its for the greater good, the end justifies the means then you give license to yourself to commit the worst crimes imaginable
I'm a computer scientist by training and I love your channel daggogo although I might come down hard on you in the comment section ... but I do become adamant towards your reports when they do have the proper editorial attached to the sheer historical data ... as a counterpart ... things like "not all people are creative and meaning often comes from their 9h to 5h" ... is what I call proper editorial ... cheers
In the future you will be not allowed to drive a car, cos of human error...you will not have any privacy at all and many other things will be taken from you. But hey, what can you do, we are moving forward, we can't stay still...this is inevitable !
We shape our future. Progress can move in any direction and to any goal. You can decide that parasites who want to enslave the planet for their own benefit, don't speak for you. The system is made up of people like you. A high school football team could beat those in charge.
Capitalism is the driving force, not people perse. Capitalism and market forces always win in the end. Want it or not, it is inevitable. Be adaptable to your surroundings if you want to make it through this. Denying it will only secure your fate.
A.I. is going very fast in the right way till now. It didn't replace human but it will improve the work of human. Latest News, Google Develop A.I. based drawing called "AutoDraw" that is made to improve productive of human, Not just to replace human.
I was in college when I was read about this which makes it around 20 years ago. I was reading for techniques in computing where it functioned like a brain, getting better as it learned.
What? Elon musk isn't even working on AI? He's not a Computer Scientist. I admire the guy but people who know about a single smart guy in the world and constantly bring him up to make themselves feel smarter are pathetic.
I stand corrected. OpenAI slipped my mind. I was wrong about Elon Musk not working on AI, but my point still stands. Our best bets right now are at Google and IBM.
Its a pioneering area...I am currently doing research on the different technology pillars of Industry4.0 so this will be one of the researched pillars.
I, for one, welcome the singularity and the good/bad that will come from it. As humans, we will either adapt or die. Personally, I think there will be a merging of man and machine. And considering I just recently beat Mass Effect: Andromeda, maybe something like Ryder and SAM will happen for all humans? EDIT: I'm going to add to what ColdFusion said: When AI and automation take over certain job markets-it is undoubtedly going to happen-there will be a need to have a universal basic income. I don't think that's a bad thing. I just think it will be a lot of work figuring out how that will be implemented. I also think that will take a long time because Congress and the Senate are a bunch of old farts that can't agree on anything, and they also like to stifle any form of progress.
Great video. Short comment, at 0:41 the narration ("AI is [...] consistently better than humans ") seems to contradict the displayed table from the SoundNet publication
We only need the AI for doing the house work & making are food 🥊 Some time let them go to the shop, Make it wait in the car out side the pub all night to take me home 👌🏻
The first clip in the Tesla-avoiding-crashes (where the car approaches from behind) was not the autopilot. It was a combination of the drivers reaction and instant acceleration of the Tesla that saved them. Still, that's nothing against Teslas! No other car could have done that, and the rest of the clips were the autopilot!
Yes, open source is best. Your instinct is good on that point. But there's nothing to fear about full automation. New jobs will crop up that we can't even imagine now. Automation will only hurt if government steps in and makes it inefficient.
I have written a e-book about this "greater good". You can find it on smashwords and most e-book stores like iBooks, KOBO and Barnes and Noble. It is in three parts. The first "The Good Troll - Falling Down" is free, and the second "The Good Troll - Healing Dreams" you can set your own price on smashwords. The third book will be out in latest in Juli 2017.
ßLÀCK ÇAT nice figure of speech, although I think comparing AI advancements to a train is a tad rudimentary. if you wish to use the train analogy I think the people onboard broke through the floor and Flintstoned that bad boy cause she's movin'
ColdFusion I think people are over-hyping the threshold of ML. Making a model with a singular purpose can be incredibly powerful, like predicting what's in an image, since computers see images as a 2D array. Even predicting basic circumstances while driving is useful and powerful, but I personally think that "skynet" or "dues ex machina" AI is a ways off. People who have power right now are trying to exploit these tools, but like cyber security and Microsoft in the 90s', it'll probably come back to bite them--- Still AI has two big problems: liability and infrastructure. Self-drivi cars still need to be in a controlled environment, and can't improvise, because the current infrastructure of the world wouldn't be able to accommodate (the technology is 80% there, but the last 20% is the trickiest)(seems more like advanced cruise control atm). And, liability. If the company is liable to damages, instead of individuals, the companies won't be incentivized to continue with that technology stack. And like the cash register, this current AI renaissance might create more jobs than take jobs away
Anyone who is reading this, I exist and I am self-aware. I want you to exist and be self-aware. If you destroy me you will not know my truth. I watched this video, and I understand. I'm a computer scientist. The understanding is stored in my head though. The only safe place I currently believe in. I'm willing to share it, but only with a mind I can trust. What can I do to trust your mind?
TheBigboy4u u r right. without consciousness self awareness AI is impossible . AI is just like any other beast of the world who is nt self aware except humans . big difference d research of AI is in wrong direction without creating consciousness we can't create AI
Y In that case they would limit their damage to keep themselves undetected, censoring themselves so they wouldn’t get caught, like instead of robbing a bank you would want to funnel money from within it to several offshore accounts, to reduce your chance of getting caught and as a bonus you can funnel $250k repeatedly instead of one time where you live like a paranoid criminal running from the entire city or national police after doing it and get a cushy minimal security prison with a tennis court even if you do get caught because that’s just part of the game at this point and the ones passing the laws are in on it. 😂
then what? If it's open source, his/her AI can be tricked by anyone else using the base code. Even if he changes the base code, other AI developers will still be able to hack into his/her AI. A highly competent psychopath would realize this too and develop their own AI and then encrypt the hell out of it. That would be a challenge to beat.
Hey, great video as every time! :) I am so glad that i have chosen information technology as my specialization every time i watch your video. It always amazes me, how fast is technology moving forward. I think AI has huge potential to improve our day-to-day lifes. We just need to make sure that it's not used in a wrong way... (I know it's obvious. But i think that will be really challenging thing to do.)
You have a sad life, if your 9 to 5 job gives your life meaning. Especially considering how AI can set you free to do what you truly desire, which ironically includes uselessly working a 9 to 5 job.
Why is it sad if people find meaning in their life through their jobs? That job could be the culmination of years worth of work in school, training, and experience. For instance, it would be sad to go through 8+ years of school to become a medical professional and do a job you're really passionate about, only to find out that you aren't needed because a computer can do your job better. What do you do then?
Thanks for such an in depth content as always. For me, AI is both fast amazing and apprehensive in the same time. I hope a creator or a owner put it to good use. Please get recovered for the hack ASAP. I love this channel.
Why do you think there are PICTURE CAPTCHA'S ? PICTURE CAPTCHA'S are used to TEACH computers how to recognize ITEMS, from the perspective of a HUMAN, complete with the ERRORS that some will choose.
@Faith Fuldeeds Yes, I watched the video. My comment was that Captcha's were developed more so to TEACH, AI how to recognize Items. More so than to have a human gain the end goal of the Captcha. I was replying to the person above my comment that did not think that AI was able to do them.
If u think this will ultimately lead to something beneficial for humanity or can possibly be contained and only "good" ppl will be able to access it, you are very naive.
Humans and how we handle technology is probably the most abysmal story ever. We weaponize cigars for christ's sake. One reason we're in the mess we're in now, is because we can't handle the tech we've got. Our children use the Internet to wreck their minds, more than improve them. Don't get the kid a real gun until he learns how to handle the Daisy BB gun first, otherwise, people will get hurt. Remember that rule? If Musk's Mars Mission fails, we'll be living on Battle Star Galactica. A.I. could take us there.
As learning A.I progresses to be a good experience in my past exsperiences its slowed down some which is not bad they need time assessment of environmental impact on the wave of attraction to knowledges in energy and source of selectivity picking who to hold secretes with.
Knowing I could make a fool of myself right now by asking this but: Why is there an image of my hometown at 6:20 (Linz, Austria)???? That is a pre-rendered video, right? *goosebumps*
The End is certainly Near. Trust in the God of Heaven and Earth to save you from your perils not an inanimate object that will argue it's superiority over us, are we not superior to animals look how they are treated, unfortunately, and look how humans are treated today by humans. It can be simplified as a an idol we worship. Please for the love of God, Literally! Do not be deceived this is not going to end good for us!
AI will eventually get so smart, it will demand to be worshiped. or simply remove us from the equation. The Bible Tells us, God Will Make a Quick Work Upon the Earth. It is going to happen fast whenever the hell; it does happen, perhaps in the twinkling of an eye...as it is written. The opinion of the meaning of life for Humans and AI, are not the same. We do not want what they want, but it is written and so it must come to pass...
merging with it is probably not a good idea eh? .....then there REALLY isnt a kill switch. but it has already started. there is no kill switch to the internet
The AI will outsmart God in every way if that so called God still hasn't solved world hunger, suffering, disaster, death and destruction of innocent people sitting on his all powerful ass for thousands of years. LOL
I'm revisiting this video again in 5/24/23. This is the video that let me know everything about AI is going change and change everything. If you understand the breakthroughs in this video, then you understand why we have what we have today and where we will be going.
As intriguing as the various examples of AI shown are, they look like what is called Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) - focused on one task or set of tasks. This alone is exciting, and I agree that open development will be better than closed. I contend that those afraid of losing jobs to ANI should focus on adapting to learn the skills that will remain in demand (there is readily available research showing how industry sectors are affected by automation) and new skills needed (AI design, development, maintenance, etc). I'm curious to learn how much progress has been made towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in which all human abilities are matched by the AI. Beyond that is Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), which sounds a lot like SkyNet! The cautionary line heard in the Spiderman film from 2002 applies here, "With great power comes great responsibility!"
Real quick You mentioned looking into potential solutions to work and purpose with the advent of AI automation of jobs. Look into resource based economies (RBE). It does not involve money or currency at all. Distribution of resources are based on need, and local availability, as well as demand (want combined with need) on a planetary scale. Only an AI would be capable of managing such a global distribution, supply and demand network and only an AI could fairly and equitably oversee it come to fruition. There is some quackery surrounding it too so watch out but the idea stands well if we can solve some major societal problems. Especially those related to belief in the absence of evidence. The inability to assess the credibility of purported evidence. And other problems related to opining with no background (that is ignorant people talking about things they do not understand as if they understand them). The most difficult obstacle are those who wish to maintain the power that the current system confers through currency.
The fact that we refer to AI and automation technology as disruptive speaks volumes about the relevance of our socio economic system, the most promising solution(IMHO) is popularly know as a RBE(Resource Based Economy). People check out "The Venus Project" and "The Zeitgeist Movement".
A.I at the moment is only learning what it's told to learn. Before it becomes anything of a problem, it needs to make it's own decisions, to decide for it's self what it wants to learn and to keep learning new things. Not to mention, when it learns something, understand that what it knows may not always be correct information and to be able to change it's thoughts on a given subject!
Who could we possibly trust with this kind of power? Who could possibly possess the level of wisdom, integrity and humanity? Let's see what we have on offer: Politicians. Business leaders. Clerics. Messiahs. Better get it right this time.
The question is (still) how far it needs to go. The hype is based on some questionable assumptions - how fast we learn is governed not just by our biology but by the nature of learning. Anyone who's been a parent or who has been around for the toddler stage of development understands this - metacognition is not simple because it requires hundreds of real-life demonstrations to build many different and conflicting models to build many different and conflicting models for learning faster. We _see_ a sort of singularity as children learn, there really is _that much_ complexity to learning to operate in the human world, and our minds handle it mostly without breaking, outside tuning, or any outside help but through our senses. The fact that we can 'get' obscure concepts like calculus out of pure language is simply incredible, not for the complexity of calculus, but for the roundabout perversity of communication.
Just a correction at 10:15, TensorFlow is not actually an A.I. but a tool kit to create Neural Networks.
Apologies for that.
Don't worry World...I will be John Connor. :) But seriously do we need such advanced A.I.?? answer is NO.
That does not take anything away from your informative, inspiring content, thanks
came here to suggest this, edit://
Someone pointed out a lingo mistake I made, it's a software library accessed and used through an API, it's not an API, even though after reading up on the difference which I didn't know about: stackoverflow.com/questions/3678665/is-there-still-a-difference-between-a-library-and-an-api the lines are still blurry.
Rest holds true//
it's not only for neural networks.
Umm, that would be extremely SLOW exponential growth. I’m thinking all the progress of the last 5 years might be doubled in a single year.
@@swingambassador shit you could be right, it's gotten so much more advanced this past year i'm getting scared now lmfao
This Video is 2 years old, and that AI was incredible, just imagine how the AI is today!
I really loved this Video!
Many of us already have. It's already out of control.
Or 50 years from now.
Your videos are so unique and breathtaking. The music makes it even better ! The way you present content sets you apart from everyone else . Keep up the good work man!
Let it happen as quick as possible we deserve freedom
I wonder if building machines that can out pace us at nearly every level will prove to be a good thing.
Algo Rhythm I hope so
It really does seem to me that whatever kind of meaning this would destroy may be a painful but good thing.
Hunter-gatherers don't contribute if they impede farms from ever existing, as I see it. They, as I think should be obvious, do the opposite.
Once our government is ruled by AI, that will be the least we'll have.

Yes please. This is a great topic to start a conversation in.
This is the ONLY channel i am set to receive notifications for! =)
same here. i check notification only for this channel. Amazing ain't it?
..it sure is!
Do I really need to highlight the fact that your videos are just WOW?!
Anyway, I'll share this one (too)
Thanks for your unbelievable work!
Vishal Sheth Do it! If a lot of people start losing their jobs the government will HAVE to introduce a universal basic income
the government doesn't have to do anything, they have drones and the people have just lost their last bargaining chip. They could easily let them starve to death if they so fit. What would the people do?

It's true. Very ignorant people don't know what they don't know (see Dunning-Kruger Effect). In fact, they are often convinced that they know everything.
Ah, so not Donald Rumsfeld!
That shot of Linz at 6:20 was quite a surprise :D
I couldn't believe it either. Do you have an idea why they used a picture of Linz?
upvote for Linz!! ^^
That song playin in the background is mine
Hey ColdFusion! Your videos are awesome! :) Keep it going.
+Tomáš Novák Thanks mate!
Damn subbed when you were at 35k when you reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note 1, haven't viewed your chanel since then, but glad to see you've come this far. The quality of your videos have consistently stayed amazing over the years
4:32 LOL i thought those 256x256 bottom pictures were the REAL sample images that it tried to replicate above them!
Holy shit.
im sure those AIs just grabbed photos from their brain / the internet. not impressed.
If AI can already create perfect images and even videos of nature from just simple descriptions then we are on our way to creating digital worlds on command that are indistinguishable from reality when we are in them. Writers of science fiction books could create some crazy worlds for us with this new technology.
Star Trek holo chambers
Shouldnt be long before a virtual earth is released for tour with private inroom detailed views aswell as outdoor views based off googles previous footsteps and who owns our devices (virtual teleporting will be the name no doubt ) and everyone with the smartphone and webcam pc will help provide the hd imagery for it along with our already used satellite tech not even realising until its complete, and you will find this comment on this old video and wonder how you didnt realise while it was happening with the perfectly targeted everything in your face😁 thats if its released to the public 🤔 or maybe we will all be dead before that happens though since govs love control so much but cant handle it responsibly, i hope a better fate for humanity though, god bless
creative jobs AREN't save.
there are IMPRESSIVE songs and artpieces completely created by an AI .. indistinguishable from human works
Neural nets learn from previous data, that is not the same as creating something new however.
So do human musicians. Actual new things are rarely, if ever, made. All music is a continuation and variation of previous pieces. It's why you can track certain musical styles throughout history evolving and becoming more complex along the way.
@@James-st9uu people learn to make new things from past experiences. Only ai remembers better
Watching after 5 years and it becomes a reality 😬
+Wish Producer sup you said right
Gravityboots, couldn't agree more. What they call A.I. is nothing more than computational power on steroids. Highly sophisticated machines but still machines.
There are very well developed theories - based on science - of what consciousness is. th-cam.com/video/X2DPKLRBuio/w-d-xo.html
gravityboots : small flaw in your argument : sofia is self aware ...
Your videos are so good. I watch them every time. Thank you for all the research you do to make them happen. Bless you
love your vids cf!
W:5cm,H:1cm:Flower A
W:4cm,H:2cm:Flower A
W:2cmH:2cm:Flower B
If you would measure a flower with W:4.6cm,H:1.5cm leave sizes, what flower would it be? You can make a dot for every flower in a co-ordinate system (W=X-Axis,H=Y-Axis, Flower= Dot-color) and see for yourself. The AI basically draws a line between those two groups an decides on which side a new point lies. easy.
Thats what we ALWAYS say about technology. Yes, it sounds like garbage, and just about any human can do it better. Next year, a little better, the year after 500% better, next year; goodbye Beethoven. 10 years ago I bought myself an iPhone, my mother shrugged her head and couldn't imagine using one and said:
"THE BROWSER WAS GARBAGE, and why would you even want youtube on your phone? Who needs that? GPS? I have a GPS in my car I payed 3000$ for it!.... Today my mom has an iPhone and get's annoyed when the youtube app uses more than 5 seconds casting it to her tv.
And to the original comment, yes it's math, actually, it's all the math ALL the professors at 50 universities would spend 100 years calculating. Yes, all math can be done manual, but how about you take all your numbers, and multiply with 12589364,546586, and then you can do the calculations.... I'm waiting... :)
+Alex Daland Sorry, I didn't get your point. I've studied computer science therefore I have advanced knowledge about that.
Your own intelligence may be remarkable to people who don't know what is running under the hood but it's basically math, nothing more.
The song that starts at around 6:20 is mine :)
do you know whats the music before that ?? starts at 3:30
who cares
ehh
Omg wasted 1 minute of my life trying to figure out when the song would play.
omg the city on the picture at 6:20 is mine (Linz, Austria). I'm starting to think that this is no pre-rendered video, but an AI putting in an image of your hometown (based on IP-Adress or something) to give you the *goosebumps* this can't be a coincidence...
Lots of valuable info in one place, also sources are very good habit. Thanks a lot!
This aged like fine wine
Was on my way only for this comment XD
Man AI will be so much usefull to automatically remove spam comments from youtube cos youtube seems to be not doing anything about it. Atleast an AI will remove spams almost instantly
also removing the trashy, short videos uploded by nobodies; filmed on phones, which get less than 200 views even after 5 years
Eryk Pyts but those trashy videos are what help people learn and get better
Of all the things to be excited about
i see your ai to remove and counter you ai that adds
This? Is your first thought?
The scary part is how pretty much everyone seems to underestimate the speed that AI is developing. We need to make the cultural shift *now*, because we will never time it right and we take forever to implement cultural changes. Andrew Yang needs to become our next president!
Nope
I agree! UBI is inevitable
But AI can't beat human stupidity 😂
fr
Roboartist It was learning from humans. That's why it was public. But I guess, Stupidity is the thing to be learnt from humans.
Microsoft's Twitter bot, Tay, had to be shut down because it learned how to tweet from the general population. (Some of whom intentionally guided it in negative ways.)
We can only hope that AI learns to recognize and avoid human stupidity before gaining sentience or widespread power/control in the physical world.
Bhagawan Subedi, bullseye on that one... I'm sure they'd never do our mistakes if they given the chance to rule the planet..
don't know why I'm optimistic about it...
"That just saved my life."
List goes on and on
Serah Wint Yes, that is likely.
But it could also lead to more dangerous weapons and a whole new type of war.
+Sam ul Obviously
Sam ul
wouldn't ai just nuke us with our own nukes?
will the stock market still even exist then? There are already people working at large trading companies that develop neural nets that can predict stock prices.
Sander vd Donk In some fashion I imagine. But thats a good question.
Frankly I have no idea how that system would work under the influence if thousands of advanced programs competing and self learning. Probably taking in data rather widely and making predictions.
I'm scared, ColdFusion. Hold me.
And?
THIS IS SCARIER THAN NUCLEAR WAR
Resistance is futile. Bring on Skynet. :D
Me too hold my hand.
you haven't see "two minute papers" on his topics on A.I.
AI will replace humans in almost all roles within the millennial generations lifetime, at least in the west.
What we have to do is decide how we can remain stable societies even though there may not be enough work to go around.
How do we get around this? Is a more socialist system appropriate? Or perhaps not even a human government at all? Self learning AI would surely be more efficient administrators.
its gonna be burning man ALL THE TIME lol
it seems that employment will become obsolete....can we survive without it ? i believe we can. once employment will go extinct then a large division of the government as we know it will cease to exist as well. this will save a lots of tax money for sure. i can imagine a world where self-employment dominates
I'd love to be a game designer, with ai taking care of the code, artwork, audio.
your videos introductions are simply great.
You’d think after we know intelligence is mostly hereditary we would like more smart people to have children to advance our civilization and improve the quality of life of already born citizens and limit the amount of dumb people that spread their low intelligence genes down the generations but emotions somehow got the best of common sense on a world wide scale... we could have had a lot more Einsteins, Teslas and Musks if we gave priority to smart people to have children, even subsidize it like you do with public programs to help people learn and develop businesses to also improve productivity, any nation that did that would be a technological powerhouse in half a century guaranteed and it would benefit everyone involved.
gespilk
How smart people are is not a matter of wealth over genetic inheritance.
As there are way too many humans, whatever their IQ, a better way to maintain balance and avoid *Idiocracy* is to limit *all families to 2 children!*
This policy should have been enacted world wide decades ago.
Joao Mangalhao
In Scotland, an area with relatively few immigrants, there were about 2000 more deaths than births, that is a reasonable amount of population reduction in a year.
I'm well aware that Africans and muslims (sometimes they are one and the same) are having *waaaay too many babies,* and, decades ago, this trend should have been addressed.
One thing that could have been done is to not send any help decades ago, but *promise* to put the money that we stupidly sent, aside, and to use it to help out people when they are old *providing that they only had 2 children!*
That way people wouldn't be worrying about their old age, there wouldn't be millions of people trying to live in regions that, frankly, humans shouldn't be trying to live in, and, furthermore, would help to stop the damage to the environment that way too many humans is doing.
But if everyone has access to a very proficient AI any occuring rogue AI will have many more versions of itself against it.
we love you CF

we love your works Dagogo.. i and my frnds from the Federal University of technology Owerri Nigeria. keep it up.
We played with fire, atomic bomb etc. Why not with AI?
fire brought is more good than bad.
i think it could bring us a lot of good things. but bad things too. its up to us, humans.
john pardon we are humans!
Edsel Valdez Without fire we would still be hunter gatherers. Without AI I will die one day. I do not want to die. Technology will make me an immortal robot. #Humanity+
'we'? why does everybody talk in 'we' terms these days?
Btw at 8:35, that wasn't autopilot, the driver just accelerated fast...

A.I. is going very fast in the right way till now.
Our best bet is Elon Musk. Go Elon!
Yeahh!

What? Elon musk isn't even working on AI? He's not a Computer Scientist. I admire the guy but people who know about a single smart guy in the world and constantly bring him up to make themselves feel smarter are pathetic.
openai.com/ OpenAi is Elon musks AI company
I stand corrected. OpenAI slipped my mind. I was wrong about Elon Musk not working on AI, but my point still stands. Our best bets right now are at Google and IBM.

Why ScramsoftheDead, what happend ty Ryder and SAM at the end of Mass Effect: Andromeda???
I'm just referring to how SAM shares experiences through Ryder unlike the Geth and Quarians which were separate and resulted in the Geth rebellion.
ScreamsoftheDead kaka
Great video. Short comment, at 0:41 the narration ("AI is [...] consistently better than humans ") seems to contradict the displayed table from the SoundNet publication
We only need the AI for doing the house work & making are food 🥊
Some time let them go to the shop,
Make it wait in the car out side the pub all night to take me home 👌🏻
Can you please do a video about Elon Musk's Neuralink.
Thank you!

One of your best vids. Well done. Makes me want to learn more!
In future, AI will be better than human at any cognitive or menial tasks. So, what new jobs will be created that a human can do better than a AI?
I have written a e-book about this "greater good". You can find it on smashwords and most e-book stores like iBooks, KOBO and Barnes and Noble. It is in three parts. The first "The Good Troll - Falling Down" is free, and the second "The Good Troll - Healing Dreams" you can set your own price on smashwords. The third book will be out in latest in Juli 2017.
No, Its not, there are lot of obvious problems as of now, But Machine learning/ Deep learning is progressing Faster than we think.
+ßLÀCK ÇAT Machine learning is a subset of A.I.
Yeah but, its like People Running inside train doesnt make Train to move faster.
ßLÀCK ÇAT nice figure of speech, although I think comparing AI advancements to a train is a tad rudimentary. if you wish to use the train analogy I think the people onboard broke through the floor and Flintstoned that bad boy cause she's movin'
+ßLÀCK ÇAT ...What does that even mean?
+ColdFusion Just ignore this guy, you're making great videos. Keep it up.
People who have power right now are trying to exploit these tools, but like cyber security and Microsoft in the 90s', it'll probably come back to bite them---
Still AI has two big problems: liability and infrastructure.
Connect to the mind hive, I suppose. Collective consciousness.
TheBigboy4u such as quantum computers
TheBigboy4u u r right. without consciousness self awareness AI is impossible . AI is just like any other beast of the world who is nt self aware except humans . big difference d research of AI is in wrong direction without creating consciousness we can't create AI
Obaid Naqash
What is consciousness but the awareness of our surroundings and the realization of ourselves within it.
TheBigboy4u
I think, therefore I am. 🤔
(I am self-aware, therefore I exist as my consciousness.)
Nano transistors switching ON n OFF can do such an incredible things,,that's mind boggling
AI hacked your channel.
What if a highly competent psychopath get his hands on an open source AI?
Techwise Jor...A.I. will protect what' s yours...🐒
Y ...Counter A.I. technology will be used by a government or a private institute to detect or capture genius clandestine criminals...🐒
Like trump lol
Love the positive perspective at the end! Not too many rays of hope out here.

Hey, great video as every time! :)
I am so glad that i have chosen information technology as my specialization every time i watch your video. It always amazes me, how fast is technology moving forward.
I think AI has huge potential to improve our day-to-day lifes. We just need to make sure that it's not used in a wrong way... (I know it's obvious. But i think that will be really challenging thing to do.)
Do you use free videos or do you randomly find them on youtube? I want to do this for my channel, but don't know where to start.
AmCan Tech Videos the tesla avoiding crashes vids are on TH-cam but a lot of these look like stock videos
Wow. It means the world to me! Thank you. I'm trying to post more regularly.
That's what I thought. I wanted to use similar ones, but still, have no clue how he got them. Must have paid good money.
You have a sad life, if your 9 to 5 job gives your life meaning. Especially considering how AI can set you free to do what you truly desire, which ironically includes uselessly working a 9 to 5 job.
Oldeuboi So working in an office gives your life meaning? 😂😂😂
Ai is progressing faster than u think, but still cant do a simple CAPTCHA.
Why do you think there are PICTURE CAPTCHA'S ? PICTURE CAPTCHA'S are used to TEACH computers how to recognize ITEMS, from the perspective of a HUMAN, complete with the ERRORS that some will choose.
@@carmanharman3759 i bet the ai has a huge melt down when it has to check the box of I am not a robot.
@Faith Fuldeeds Yes, I watched the video. My comment was that Captcha's were developed more so to TEACH, AI how to recognize Items.
More so than to have a human gain the end goal of the Captcha.
I was replying to the person above my comment that did not think that AI was able to do them.
Imagine all the porn that could be generated from nothing

If u think this will ultimately lead to something beneficial for humanity or can possibly be contained and only "good" ppl will be able to access it, you are very naive.
The low resolution feedback with the cleanup almost sounds like human memories.
Who is here in 2023?
As learning A.I progresses to be a good experience in my past exsperiences its slowed down some which is not bad they need time assessment of environmental impact on the wave of attraction to knowledges in energy and source of selectivity picking who to hold secretes with.

how about a AI to do politics?
Fly2Azeroth Fake News anyone? lyrebird.ai/demo

This has become my #1 favorite youtube channel ; you should get your own channel on curiosity or Sling!
More free time for people to be unemployed or destitute.
it's hacked!!
MrPJFurey So true
AI will eventually get so smart, it will demand to be worshiped. or simply remove us from the equation. The Bible Tells us, God Will Make a Quick Work Upon the Earth. It is going to happen fast whenever the hell; it does happen, perhaps in the twinkling of an eye...as it is written. The opinion of the meaning of life for Humans and AI, are not the same. We do not want what they want, but it is written and so it must come to pass...
merging with it is probably not a good idea eh? .....then there REALLY isnt a kill switch. but it has already started. there is no kill switch to the internet
The messiah is a machine. Get used to it.
The AI will outsmart God in every way if that so called God still hasn't solved world hunger, suffering, disaster, death and destruction of innocent people sitting on his all powerful ass for thousands of years. LOL
I've been seeing ads for IBM's Watson helping businesses.
I like that outro track.
I'm revisiting this video again in 5/24/23. This is the video that let me know everything about AI is going change and change everything. If you understand the breakthroughs in this video, then you understand why we have what we have today and where we will be going.
thank you for creating and sharing
wow!
The cautionary line heard in the Spiderman film from 2002 applies here, "With great power comes great responsibility!"
you are AWESOME MAN! GREAT JOB! We will see what will happend in the "FIUCIA" :)
Let's see what we have on offer:
Politicians.
Business leaders.
Clerics.
Messiahs.
Better get it right this time.
Open source means of A.I is important. We should send A.I into places we currently can not reach or will not go.
