I think they both see it as inevitable that either Khamzat or Shavkat grab the belt. Kamaru will likely be aging out of title contention soon and Leon won the belt in a fight he was losing 80% of.

I think Zhang Weili has the potential to become that PPV star - she just has this ability to get the crowd on her side and did you see her on the MMA Hour post Carla win? Her english is tremendous and she'll likely nail those post-fight one-liners that people can't help but adore in 2023. If she keeps winning AND adds that to what she brings to the UFC - I think you'll be surprised by how big her star power gets by the end of the year.
Wow I'll have to listen to the interview. At this point Zhang is the best female fighter in the world. She will go down in history as the best female MMA fighter. She was green and didn't have ring IQ initially. But her improvements have put her in a class by herself. Rose is equally skilled but has some unpredictable mental blocks.

Her english is tremendous and she'll likely nail those post-fight one-liners that people can't help but adore in 2023. If she keeps winning AND adds that to what she brings to the UFC - I think you'll be surprised by how big her star power gets by the end of the year.
Wow I'll have to listen to the interview. At this point Zhang is the best female fighter in the world. She will go down in history as the best female MMA fighter. She was green and didn't have ring IQ initially. But her improvements have put her in a class by herself. Rose is equally skilled but has some unpredictable mental blocks.

I get the slap fighting is kinda weird but idk why people are so outraged over it lol. Especially mma fans. We know how our sport was looked at initially. There’s a market for slap fighting. It’s not new. I probably won’t watch it but doesn’t bother me none, there’s something out there for everybody to watch. I think tennis and golf is dumb lol. But people love that.
UFC and NFL both have a big problem looming with the sports betting tie in. Honestly, the problem is looming no matter what with more states legalizing it and it becoming more normalized as a part of sports, but the tie in just makes it look worse.
