    My review of xpulse 200 (As a nepalese dirt enthusiast).
    It is more of an adventure-oriented dual-sport bike (like a scaled down version of honda crf250) which has very good dirt trailing/cruising offroad abilities but not a hardcore enduro like CRF 450 or other good quality Chinese enduro available in Nepal like crossfire 250.
    Good points:
    1. Cost efficiency: this should come slightly above the price range of Bajaj ns 200. Almost half the price of other Chinese enduro bike and RE Himalayan.
    2. Top Indian manufacture: Spare part is not a problem.
    3. Good engine: the engine manages to produce 18.1 bhp @8000 and 17.5 nm @6500 rpm of torque which is not a joke considering honda xr230( old hero honda zmr original engine) produces 18 bhp and 18 nm of torque despite being 230 cc. the xpulse bike also has the highest power figure relative to its off road oriented competitor such as honda XR 186cc which produces 15 bhp and 15nm of torque And UM DSR 230cc produces 16 bhp and 17 nm of torque.
    4. 66.5x57.5 mm 200 cc short stroke engine; so it loves to be revved, perfect for dual-sport natured bike.
    5. 190 mm front and 170 mm real monoshock Suspension is probably the best thing hero has provided in this bike at this price range. it can absorb any bumps.
    6. reliability; hero engines are always reliable since it sacrifices performance over reliablity. midrange oriented bike @max torque delivered at 6500 rpm range and low compression ratio machiines like mojo, extreme 200r and bajaj dominar 400 old model or fz 25 are always reliable than top end oriented engine like duke 200 or ns or 2019 dominar.
    7.Fuel injection. it can take any altitude you throw it at.
    8. refinement. you said it can cruise @85-95 km without breaking sweat this is too good for 10.0 compression ratio bike.
    9. ceat tyres. the 70% on-road and 30% offroad tire give good grip at dry offroad condition without sacrificing its grip on highways .
    Bad points.
    1. Weight. Regarding this, I have mixed feelings. Being 154 kg it is too heavy for small displacement bikes designed for off-road purposes. this affects its offroad capacity and its onroad accelartion. But the added weight is not too bad considering this will actually help the bike feel more planted at ground even at speed of 100 kmph considering this bike has massive fork travel suspension both front and rear. But all is forgiven since this is not an true offroad bike but an go anywhere adv bike.
    2. air cooled and 2 valves: If hero introduces 4 valves, liquid cooled radiator system, increases torque spread range to top end oriented and increase compression ratio to 11.0- 11.3 this engine probably can easily produce 21+ bhp and higher torque.
    3.this tyre as as useless as road oriented tyre in wet offroad muddy condition.
    4. since this bike has massive long travel suspention you cant corner this bike agressively.
    5. classic cult following. it would have been better had hero provided functional front fairing and side fairing than opted for this classic cult headlight lamp. I am not a big fan of it since I prefer practicality and functions overlooks.
    conclusion: this bike is solid build bike by hero and i can see its good commercial success in dirt bikes obsessed market like Nepal where there are not many highways for top end performance and many bad broken roads or no roads at all. 95 kmph is fast enough in nepal. This bike is like KLR 650(kawasaki) of south asia which does everything good but don't excel at anything.

      Even i am from Nepal broda and as u know we have great adv tourer fan following here but have to be stucked in ns 200 or apache 200 as bikes are very expensive here in nepal almost double as india..
      So this hero xpulse launch has me smiling in joy.
      I hope this launches in dashain/ dashera in nepal .

    I test rode this motorcycle and I have to say that this is one of the best motorcycle for Indian roads since one doesn't have to worry about the underbelly scraping and the suspension makes commuting crazily comfortable

    Why does almost every reviewer have copy-paste opinions that Xpulse is only for beginners? No. Beginners can comfortably ride this bike. But advanced riders can make much better use of the bike's equipment and potential.
    Advanced rider means a person has good technique and riding knowledge, and so, has better control over motorcycles. It doesn't mean they always have to go for more CC and more power. So, even if a person has a lot of experience riding offroad, Xpulse is still a good bike to buy because, offroad, power doesn't mean as much compared to traction and controllability.
    As far as offroading goes, Himalayan is a downgrade compared to this bike for any type of rider. Riding a Himalayan offroad is limiting because the 190 kilo weight is relatively difficult to manage. And even though Xpulse only does 17nm torque and 18bhp, it would anyday beat the shit out of a Himalayan and do everything better offroad because of the 40 kilo weight difference between the two.

      Thanks for your comment and I agree with that. Most of us mention it as beginner friendly for the same reason that the Himalayan is heavy and not suggested. And an experienced rider can take any motorcycle based on his choice 😊

    Strell... Whats your view on Xpulse 200 vs Yamaha FZ v3? Because these are of same price range. But it seems like more capable and little(!) high power. I thought i finalized my pick by choosing fz v3. But now little confusion. :) Reliability and after sales support ???

    Just bought it ..been a month ..very happy with it...perfect for fucked up city roads ...very user friendly and hassle free so far ....highly recommended ..fyi ..himalayan is the only competition ..and one should anyday go for hero than the royal enfield brand

    Hey Strell, i Test rode this yesterday nd felt it's as powerful as the Old Bajaj Pulsar 200, but as i testrode it in Delhi nd had a heavy showroom guy with me so couldn't do top whack or get a precise idea about the pickup, would you agree its more powerful than the old Apache &Pulsar 180's.
    Can this cruise on Highways at 100kmph because that's d speed limit i don't cross....?

    @strell: particularly Bangalore where roads are filled with craters and pot holes, sand and gravel, constant stop and go , how does it feel. Stressful?. I'm actually wanting to sell my bike and get a burgman. But again, burgman does have as much suspension travel.

      This is apt for bad roads. The little disappointing factor is that, the seat is not comfy for a longer saddle time, be it in city too.

      Probably FI. As FI variants came in two color- white and green. Three other Colors- red,blAck and grey are Carb variant.

    One curiosity : On what speed generally you cruise on Indian roads !!!! Please reply Strell as you cruise-review a lot about bikes, so who else can better answer it than you. Please consider all the cruises you have done irrespective of CCs of bikes.

      Go for gixxer 250, it is worth every extra rupee and some more.
      It has the smoothness of the CBR250 motor plus additional low end torque, unlike the honda motor which has power in higher RPMs

      A little harder to do with stock seat. A modified seat will help you on that.

    I bought this bike.
    Cons: 1. Heating issue. The right leg literally burns.
    2. Wind blast above 65kmph
    3. Gear shifts are hard. Hard to get neutral.
    4. Seat is not at all good for riding more than an hour.
    5. Knuckle guard on the right misses on a clamp as the left hand side. Basically it becomes loose after riding off-road.
    6. No center stand.

      U mean pillion will struggle in a heavy traffic condition becz of heat from silencer? What if I take 200t over 200, I don't do off road , but the humbs and port holes are more than enough . I don't like the design of this byke but planned to buy only because of bad indian roads, big holes and humbs.
      So if I take 200t over this, is it sufficient to take any bad indian roads? Like I heard it's sbockup and ground clearance is less compare to this and even build quality like the swingarm ? And RTR 160 4v also was an option for me, but bad roads and hero build quality and reliability made me to choose Xpluse. So should go for T over this. Plz suggest, did u test ride T"!

      @@knairmahesh The touring version seems to be like another street bike. I would love the apache over it.
      Update about my bike: bike doesn't lock, sometimes the bike turns off after starting. Ignition issue may be.

    I wish xpulse 200t would be the same bike but with 19" front wheel, and both alloy with tubeless tyres.
