That aquaphor lip balm is amazing!! FYI, I went through a time when my lips were insanely dry and chapped and it turned out I was anemic. If you’re staying hydrated and still have super chapped lips, maybe check your iron levels to rule that out.

I've been wondering myself, the difference between traditional castor oil and jamaican. I found that the jamaican castor oil is black due to they roast the castor beans first(hence the smell) and Not cold pressed where as the yellow is. There are more benefits to jbco because of this, the ph level is more alkaline and has more clarifying properties. They both contain 18 fatty acids though. Basically it keeps the scalp hydrated while nourishing and exfoliating. I hope this helps and love love you, so real and relatable!!!!
when you were saying your lips were really dry, i had that recently and they got really sore and chapped and realised it was lip balm addiction lol there's so many articles on it, i had to use elizabeth arden ointment morning and night, kick the lip balms and now they're healed

Additionally a lot of lotions, balms, and jellies (including Aquaphor) contain petrolatum which is terrible for your skin and it makes sense because petrolatum is made from crude oil that's left over at the bottom of the bins. Petrolatum has absolutely no nutritional value for your skin and your skin will actually develop an addiction to it and thus, display withdrawal symptoms when you stop using it. Any dermatologist will tell you the same. It wasn't until I started strictly using balms without this ingredient that my lips were never chapped again. I no longer use balms because I need to but I use them occasionally because I simply like the feeling. Using Aquaphor temporarily as a short term solution is fine but you will regret it if you use it regularly/long-term, believe me.
@@sarahhashcroft It's definitely very helpful for short-term isolated incidents! When my brother had jaw surgery he couldn't close his mouth for a few weeks which resulted in very cracked lips. Aquaphor healed his lips :). Just be careful when using it regularly for a chronic issue!

my lips are literally drier than the sahara dessert and aquaphor is the ONLY thing that works. It could be just a tiny bit drying afterwards but i honestly don’t mind it. I have a big tub at home, and a regular one that i carry EVERYWHERE even if i go for a walk but actually the regular one is lowkey kinda big
