That sauce looks like it's tonkatsu sauce, which is often referred to as Bulldog sauce (as it's the most popular brand of tonkatsu sauce in Japan). It's the most common sauce to go alongside croquettes (pronounced korokke). Fun fact: you can make your own by combining Worchester sauce, some honey, and KETCHUP. It will taste exactly the same as the Bulldog brand.
@@sketchmasta 4 parts Worchestershire, 4 parts ketchup, 1 part honey (or sugar or any other sweetener) should do it, then adjust to taste. I've seen other recipes for additions like oyster sauce or soy sauce, but try the basics and see if you like it.
The teriyaki chicken was the least warm because it has the most moisture out of all the foods. It was the only one which wasn't deep fried, so the moisture escaping cooled it down much faster compared to the others.
Damn, man. Ben always finds the best looking gas station food. There are some decent gas station food selections in the US, but not for this particular price. All of this would cost like $20 in the US
9 dollars for all that bro that’s a steal bro that’s a lot of money you’ll be paying in the states for all that food and bottle of water can’t beat that at all
dude you gotta go to Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo and eat the devil level spice ramen and show us. see if you can compete with mark wiens and mike chen!
I would appreciate, when you get back home, to make a round-up review of your time in japan. First the non-food stuff, but then maybe do a tier-list of the food you tried. You can use tiermaker to make your video. (not affiliated).
If you like croquettes and fried foods but want an upgrade over the convenience store, oftentimes the local butcher makes them and its taste much better.
That leftover piece of croquette had me bothered, man. Like, I know it was disappointing, but you could have just finished that off with a any pieces of the chicken you ate if you wanted meat! A little bit of chicken croquette! 😂
I know what he’s talking about with the convenient store and how they differ from Japan and America but I will say in Texas we had Buck-ees and on the east there’s Sheetz and Wawas i know they don’t compare to Korea or Japanese convenience stores but they have great food especially Buckees they make brisket and chopped BBQ sandwiches in house so that’s something 🤷🏾♂️
I lived off Family Mart back in the day. In addition to what you ate, they make a variety of hot meals including regular curry meals and my favorite… Nikku-mon (nikku is beef and mon is steamed dumping) so steam beef dumpling. They’d make with pork and chicken, also Cheesu-mon (with cheese), curry-mon (curry) and pizza-mon, tomato paste and ground beef but cheese). I liked beef, pork, and cheese the best. Gochi so sama desu…
They have these bread buns with tartar sauce in them made specifically for the spicy chickens you put the slab on between the buns and you have a spicy sandwich!!
I can confirm that Family Mart has really good hot food. Also, I noticed he mispronounced Korokke (koh - row - keh). I love Korokke and Family Mart chicken. POCARI SWEAT is one of my favorite sports drinks.
"The food tastes good, that's the bottom line. And it's cheap!" those are wise words to live by.

Thanks for being so helpful!
Gotta try that. That sauce was good. Thanks yo!
Don’t they have it in Korea too? Since tonkatsu is common in korea too?
@@The2009Anthey do lol. all donkatsu sauces are different in every restaurant

I love how he takes bites like his food is going to disappear. 😂
It’s probably his schtick for the views. But yeah “it is what it is”. 😅
Its just how he eats, I like to eat like that as well
Was raised in Japan and miss it everyday, stuff like this really scratches that itch Ty brother
Ben we loved your Japan videos. Taiwan or Thailand I'm the future maybe....you'll definitely get SPICY food in Thailand 😂
The food in Thailand. Sooooo good. 😂😂😂 too good because I gain some weight, not too much though.
Wish we had convenience stores like this in the US.
Closest thing would be buc-ee's
You can find some that aren’t chains . Sparsely in Midwest seems more abundant in the south . Typically family owned
I totally agree 🙂
We do lol. QuikTrip, RaceTrac, etc. only difference is price
Yo, NYC is crawling with places like this. We got one on literally every corner.
Pocari Sweat had my man tripping.
Lord knows how long that pause was.

Yo Ben can you do your weight before and after Japan trip? Just curious😅
seems like he has a fairly good metabolism and hes probably been walking around a lot I'd guess maybe a little more or around the same
It actually doesn't even seem like he ate as much on this trip
Stop using emojis. Now. OR ELSE.
The chicken in the convience stores there contributed to me gaining a shitton of weight there. Haha lost it all when I came back to the US.
How often do you go to Japan?
Hi Ben!
The convenience stores do have little cheap bread rolls to buy to eat with the chicken!
Damn, man. Ben always finds the best looking gas station food. There are some decent gas station food selections in the US, but not for this particular price. All of this would cost like $20 in the US

I’m not sure if Eric surf six lives there, but if he does, you should do a Kalab with him

Anthony Bourdain loved the egg salad sandwich from Lawsons
Truth. JP conbinis are much better than any other countries. I've tried them all over Asia and the US, and hands down Japan is the best.
Chicken and more chicken🍗Looks good!
Looks good man 🎉🙏
I think they brined it before frying, which makes the chicken way juicier
