This guy knows his stuff. Precise & straight to the point. He doesn't drive alot but, when he does drive - he knows his stuff. Get Mike on the show again 🎉
I absolutely love this thing. The power and way it drives is a nice balance between comfort and sportiness. It's honestly very surprising when you're behind the wheel. It gets a lot of attention too, cause there aren't too many on the road.
This car is on my wishlist have been onserving its price for the past 5 months. Safe to say if you go on Autotrader you typically find brand new models at 600k and less. So besides the MSRP being 725 you will hardly find it listed for above 650. The norm is 600k. And for Demos its 550k and below. And by Demo I mean 2k km to 3k km. Baring this in mind I think it competes well with the corolla. Its only issue is South Africans dont think highly of Honda, as compared to Toyota 😅
Great video sir. I just bought my first car at the beginning of july and I went with Honda. I bought a 2024 Honda Ballade RS and I absolutely love my car. However I saw the Civic RS and I'm honestly in love with it. Your review today has really made me think about getting the Civic RS but it was way out of budget.
I agree that the price is high but you should compare apples with apples. For example the Toyota Corolla 2.0XR sedan is a closer comparison. That currently retails at R560 000
Agree it's a great car in just about every aspect. Except for pricing sadly.

Which would you rather have between this and the Corolla 2.0 XR sedan?

I think the dealership had the Civic RS for about R580k on sale. I paid R369k for the ballade RS
How is this one different from the previous Civic RS tested? @MotorMatters
Is there no hybrid of this coming to SA even at this price?
Very similar to the previous test car, I have no knowledge of a hybrid version coming to SA at this stage
Honda is pricing themselves out of the country, like seriously at this price you could get two suzuki fronks/ toyota starlet cross.
True. This car should be around 400k and it would sell. Their cars are very expensive and there’s honestly better options.

@@MotorMatters at this point the corolla is a bargain. Also if I was shopping in this segment I'd buy the top of the range corolla hybrid sedan.
That 6.6 litre per 100 must be on the open road. Around town you probably looking at 8.5 minimum
It was my overall figure for the week, but the majority was on an extended open road trip. It was as low as 6.2 during the trip
Road sailing sounds boring
