I was addicted to drugs and cigarettes before, and one day at my lowest I took mushrooms by myself, and sat there meditating while chanting I don’t want to be addicted anymore over and over. I went cold turkey since then, and it has been 3 years now.
Aaron Burton no joke I did drugs daily for more than a dozen years. After going cold turkey I have no cravings. I have noticed just being around drugs gives me anxiety and I don’t enjoy it. I feel like there’s something subconscious going on here, or it could all be placebo haha. Mind over matter.
i just got that experience 3 days before when i did MM first time, i used to smoke 1 ounce weed in 1-2 days, and a pack cigarette day, watch netflix, play video game all day, after my mushroom trip i dont feel smoking ciggrate and weed has been reduced to 2-3 gram/day from other day suddenly, i feel like my body is coming to right alignment ,i know whats right and wrong,i felt what is it to be other species, i felt whats actually my purpose as a human us, my body wanna eat natural food only, no meat, egg, milk, cooked food, processed food etc only fruits and vegetable, i was taking 2k+/day calories but now i am feeling satisfieed with 500-600 calorie everyday, i feel humble , calm, composed ,wiser than 3 days before, i didnt watch netflix and all matrialistic songs from last 3 days, dont feel like to watch, i only wanna learn new stuffs and im doing though books and internet now.
I'm 76 years old and your podcasts are helping me understand how little I know, but how much I care. You give me gifts. Thank you. Thank you for Paul Stamets.
My journey towards mental health recovery has been profoundly shaped by psilocybin mushrooms, DMT and LSD. After being diagnosed with severe depression and other challenges, a friend introduced me to the Golden Teacher mushrooms for the spiritual and mental renewal. For the past four years, I've experienced remarkable improvements in my well-being.

I have something to say about Mr Paul Stamets We were wiped out by the CA wild fire. We had lost all of the books we purchased that were published by Paul about mushrooms in the fire. He was gracious enough to replace all of them and donate two kilos of spores to help with our remediation of the land. THANKS4GIVING PAUL. Thanks for all the hard work and research on that branch of our family, shrooms. Your awesome PAUL
Northern CA resident here. I was lucky to get missed by the fires but know many who were devastated by them like yourself. I've heard a few stories like this of people replacing lost possessions and donating or offering help to complete strangers, it's what we need more of in this world. Best wishes to you in your rebuild!
Been taking Lions Mane for one week. I discovered a benign brain tumor 4 years ago. It has caused Neuro degenerative and cognitive problems. This podcast quite literally saved my life. I started taking Lion's mane and wow. I feel like before my first seizure. At the 44 minute mark or so Paul talks about it. I may have beaten this horrible albatross on my brain. As I type I tear up. I'm a 30 year old man and I thought I was doomed forever to a life of unhappiness. Thank you for spreading your wisdom. As a JRE fan I'd love to talk about it sometime if given an invite with Paul even though I'm an average guy. Thank you to JRE for bringing these guests on. This one without any sort of exaggeration could have saved my life. I suffer from brain tumor, memory issues, GAD,PTSD (non combat),and epilepsy. All of these things are invisible and I suffer because I look pretty normal and even healthy for 30 years old. This man is a good man and I learned a lot from this podcast. Thank you Paul, Thank you Joe.
adamgm84 Still have some partial seizures but overall a healthy mix of Lion's Mane, GABA, L-tryptophan, cannabis, exercise 2 to 3x a week and a diet with proteins and veggies seems to be the key for me. Still have day to day issues but this allows me to manually manipulate my neurotransmitters. Hope this helps anyone that's at their bottom from a Neuro degenerative condition. It's possible to recover. I'm no doctor just a good student and willing guinea pig to myself.
Billig Jones i use Host Defence drops and capsules. The immune support which has about 10 different mushroom varieties, Amazing and supports Paul's work !
My recovery journey was greatly enhanced by the therapeutic benefits of mushrooms. Other psychedelics like DMT and LSD have also proven to be remarkable.
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW.. THE POISON DEVIL SHROOMS HAVE TAKEN HOLD OF HIM AND IS USING HIM AS AN AMBASSADOR TO TRICK PEOPLE INTO EATING MUSHROOMS TO KILL OFF THE HUMAN RACE AND RULE THE EARTH ONCE MORE
My son was a student of Paul's and has been swearing about his studies and analysis of "all things fungal" for decades. After watching this, video,.I wanna be a student as well. Thanks to all for producing this. It may very well save our planet.
Joe's face at 38:46 cracks me up every single time, just the way Paul is deep into explaining his story and it just silently cuts to Joe's flabbergasted expression lmao
TBH i don't think that line is correct. Think about all the depressed mussicians, painters and poets that have made master class art. I mean just a hand full are Kurt Cobain, Vincent van Gogh, Syd Barrett, Cody from Cody's Lab and Thom York.
Ohhh now i see where your mushroom inspiration came from. This guy got me into it too a few years back, i use my own technique to get sterile samples for growing mycelium. I made a cheap glove box, then i just dip the knife in alcohol without wiping it on anything, getting sterile stuff from inside the stem of course. The alcohol is normally dried off because it kills it i believe, but i found that it doesnt kill it completely. This way you risk less contaminants, of which i had o issues with. just drop it on some agar and youre good. There's sterile rye berry jars for sale online. I grew pink oyster mushrooms that way. Pleurotus djamor, probably spelling that wrong.
IKR just watched it and still trying to wrap my brain around some of the shit!!! Think I found some shrooms in my backyard so been doing a shit ton(no pun intended) and came across this and man glad I watched!!! Big fan of the JRE as it is hope Joe don’t get censored over there but pretty sure he won’t let that happen I hope!!!
I remember this changing my perspective in 2018. Coming back to visit this 6 years later, highly needed to rejuvenate all the knowledge and wisdom. These conversations are powerful.
I turned 70 yesterday, I too had a similar tree in the wind experience back in 1971. Paul you give me hope, true, pure, deep hope. Thank you for that gift. Keep up your most important work.
This dude is extremely well spoken and able to communicate long and complex stories in a way that is impressive for anyone, let alone someone who used to have a stutter. Very cool.
hes not well spoken. he uses a lot of words incorrectly, out of order and contradicts himself may times over in his stories. The stories aren't complex. There's really nothing here. He tries to make them complex so you don't realize there is no real story here because he hasn't accomplished anything. He blames his unnecessary use of vocabulary as a way to help with his stutter
As a physician…. It’s grotesque that we haven’t already been using this for patients. Our current system is failing people. Labeling mental diversity as illness with no real solutions except for medications…. Most of which are not understood and have numerous consequences for those who take it. I’m ready for change. Who else?
I would just like to remind everyone that Paul also helped isolate a certain variety of oyster mushrooms that actually *eat waste petroleum/oil and metabolize them into harmless compounds.* When he says fungi can save the world, he's entirely serious. I only wish he was a household name. Him saving the bees would be a greater accomplishment than Edison's improved lightbulb. People could eat dinner by candlelight. People can starve to death with the lights on though.
Started microdosing after i watched this podcast 2 years ago. Now i also take a a variety of mushrooms. Helped me quit smoking weed, helped me manage my autism and so much more. Thanks Paul! Your insights changed my life for the good!
Have you tried Lions Mane? I read that it had many positive effects and was consider trying it until i came across a subreddit named LionsManeRecovery, where people describe extreme depression and anxiety after daily usage of supplements containing LM. Thanks in advice for the feedback!
@sasuke uchiha he's been getting shit faced as of late, yeah? He was hammered and acting like he didn't give a shit about anything on kill tony and one of the newest flagrant podcasts. Haven't seen this shit faced Rogan since the OLD fight companion episodes. Lol
been feeling miserable all my life. lots of anger, resentment, feeling 'lost', depressed, can go on for quite some time. been microdosing for some time. doing a trip here and there over the past years. In november i did a good dose on Azurescens, and had one of the machine elves visiting me midway in my trip (the first half was the worst experience in my life). He came to me as a warrior, took away all my negativity and showed my my path forward. All my darkness and the negative energy that comes with that, he took that away. He gave me a white blinding light in return. Since then i can only move forward and feel absolutely amazing. Theres been a time before where all the machine elves where present in my trip, but not this up close and personal, he really guarded me, saved me and showed my my path forward. Finally i have the strength to beat weed and smoking, re-gaining my life force and energy, feeling better than ever before. Paul Stamet brought me on this path of enlightenment. Finally, after 10 years i feel im getting to the point where ive always needed to be.
One of my absolutely favorite JRE episodes. Paul Stamets is effortlessly intelligent and expressive about mushrooms in a wide variety of topics about the subject. I've learned so much in such a short amount of time. Joe must have Paul on again soon !
After watching this again I want to declare a standing ovation. Bring back Paul for round 2. Id love to see where he's at in life, along with Joe's journey so far with all the people he's talked with and knowledge obtained... it has to happen
@@MrXennon1 now you mention i think I do remember that. Was he on with a other guest I think his brother? And do you know the episode number? I could always look it upni guess but thank you for the info
I feel like Joe Rogan really held his own with some damn good questions in this interview. Thanks for letting this guy talk his head off and just being on point for the podcast.
@@eachday9538 I heard they had to do it ten times... . The story of stuttering was fake.. What happened is that after 9 takes Joe beat the crap AND the stuttering out of Paul....
Epilepsy and Lion's Mane. Hi all :). I am writing from Ukraine, please excuse my spelling mistakes. 10 years ago, after suffering a severe craniocerebral injury with a cerebral hemorrhage, I began to have epileptic seizures. The attacks were both day and night. Severe attacks were rare, 5-6 per year, sometimes during the day, sometimes at night. Mini attacks without loss of consciousness during the day were constant.
I have been living with epileptic seizures for 10 years already =(((, the worst thing is that you don't know when it will happen, an attack can hit at any time =(((. In May of this year, I learned about lion's mane and decided to try it. So, what I want to say is that mini attacks without loss of consciousness during the day passed almost immediately and in general my physical condition and mood improved :). Now I understand that there is hope that I am not doomed and epilepsy is curable :). Now only rare attacks remain when I sleep at night, it's probably because the brain is more active in sleep. But now there is hope and too little time has passed for recovery. I've only been using Lion's Mane for half a year. I wish everyone that this miracle mushroom lion's mane brings the desired result!!! :)
I love JRE Podcasts, but this, this right here is what I live for. These are the interviews that keep me coming back. Now excuse me while I go lay down for awhile.
@@eisenwerks6388 You should know that you cannot combine those two. They take you into incompatible universes. At least that is what John C. Lilly said.
I can explain this in great detail: You have to understand his headspace, the FDA have a job, which is to create laws, and enforce them in our country. I'm not bound by the laws of the FDA *in this regard*, but I do work with the FDA regularly and I deeply understand this mans cognitive processes. He is correct, and not being silly when he states he's worried for his life. Do NOT poke the Bear. We do not f**k with Uncle Sam. Here is how it works: 1.) The Federal Government will come after him. They 100% WILL shut him down, that's an absolute probability. He is also very, very high on the totem pole. He has a target on his head, this is why: he's extraordinarily well-known which makes him a super-target to the FDA, DEA and other governmental regulatory agencies. As a vendor of certain natural remedies, he can't make medical claims, because that would make him a "snake-oil salesman" and he would go out of business...overnight. The government might also saction him, and he would no longer be able to import or export anything...even stuff off Temu, Shein, Wish, etc. I'm not blowing this out of proportion. I speak from the collective awareness of many people who have MADE THIS MISTAKE. I've watched their entire lives, uprooted, forever. All because of ONE SENTENCE made in a poor moment, that will haunt them forever, till death. The takeaway: He cannot make a medical claim. He cannot make a claim that it can be used in explosives. While the FDA is on the East Coast, they have been known to bother people on the West Coast when they do stupid stuff that could be misinterpreted by other people...who then in turn...do dumb sh**. They're out there, and he could lose everything if someone made a weapon. The courts can manipulate anything, it basically boils down to them being aware of you, and them having an issue with you. Lawyers can make a case out of nothing, and considering the high trait narcissism, high trait psychopathy, etc, they tend to ruin lives...they tend to lack the skill set required to use empathy in their enforcement of laws. Things usually have an extreme amount of logic, rational thinking, and they don't color their world with the deep human experiences that denote...humans make mistakes. It's also his status in society, they focus on high-profile people on purpose. Also, law people prefer to build up a portfolio that shows success. It doesn't matter how many people end up dead, ravaged for life, etc. it's about numbers. Talk to an attorney if you don't believe me, some will tell you. It's part the fact that he deals in medicine made from mushrooms and he can't say much, and the other part, is that real fu**in idiots exist in this world, and he can't explain that it's a weapon. Also...it's a mutagen. It's a profound carcinogen (both white Button Mushrooms and Portobello), that's why he states, cook it A LOT. He's right. My source: I'm a well versed man who works in a similar industry (hee hee), I have ten years of experience watching people go to jail, become sanctioned, traumatized, lose their life, have false allegations made against them, in which, they were literally convicted of stuff that isn't within the realm of human possibility. I have experience man. For real. This dude isn't going to put his life, his company, his employees, his spouse or anyone else in jeopardy, and I respect that about Paul.
Amazing that someone who has a stutter can speak so eloquently, no Ums, no pauses, amazing vocabulary. This man knows things we don’t and he’s out here to share them. It’s clear. He could be making millions and millions and be monopolising this medicinal mushroom market. However, he’s shared HOW to extract it yourself, he’s allowed you to grow it. This man is here to help us, we should listen to him
tstoneami It’s his business and at the end of the day he needs to make sure it’s sustainable. When a guest is doing a good job he lets them sustain it by sometimes I feel he will cut people off but I don’t think it’s with the malicious intent some people think he does it with.
I've watched hundreds of hours of your content Joe and this guy tops Jordan Peterson, Duncan Trussell, Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock. This man is the only one to have drawn my curiosity toward a degree to this magnitude ever since I had done it once before almost 17 years ago. This guy is the living embodiment of purpose.
"You are telling me nature is not intelligent , and yet you are born of nature using the mind to conceive the concept to challenge the idea that nature is not intelligent, when you are part of nature?" -Paul Stamets Absolutely beautifully said.
not to mention that a collection of particles can come together and somehow activate concious experience, which is how we're even able to perceive these atoms
I love him and have been following him for yrs and since i saw this interview! He is a true genius! I love Mckenna as well but he was a product of his time and this guy is the real deal and we can only pray that someone continues his work to this degree once he is no longer with us!!
I noticed that also. I think there are studies that when people are using a lot of effort in their thought process they blink less. Their pupils dilate larger as well when their brain is putting out the effort. However, it is not clear how much effort he is actually manufacturing because many of these points have been made by him over the years in various forums, etc.
@@silverhopeful it probably has more to do with the fact that during active thought/conversation you are rapidly moving your eyes which keeps them moist and that's why you have less need to blink.
Jeff Maylor hahahaha slap yourself. what a closed minded moron hahaha. you are fucking laughable. p.s. your mom has your sandwich waiting upstairs young man
Jeff, you sound like the type of ignorant guy that really needs a mushroom trip. Please dont make moronic claims like that, psilocybin mushrooms are one of the safest substances one can ingest.
I tried golden teacher for my first time and I got the biggest hug from something beyond my comprehension. It brought me back to reality as I laid down on the grass around 2 am. I've tried other hallucinogen but shrooms felt so pure in a way, that it made me realize that everything is "breathing"
For anyone wondering @1:44:00 when Paul comments oddly about the Portobello mushrooms. He is doing so because Portobello mushrooms contain hydrazine agaritine which is a known carcinogen that has caused cancer and tumor growth in the lab. This is a highly controversial subject and Paul probably does not want to create a media frenzy which could have a hugely negative affect on his livelihood and the publics perception of mushrooms. He is basically the voice for mycologists and has the potential to harm societies perception of mushrooms heavily. A lot of hard work goes into getting the legislation loose enough for scientists to really study these mycotoxins and more negative press could make it even harder..
Hmm not sure about this explanation. He's explained this many times before openly about various kinds of commercial mushrooms and there's no secret, just look it up. However this silent refrain is for me at least pointing towards something far more nefarious..
I don't think I've witness Joe being so silent in ANY other interview as he is listening to Paul talk. It's fascinating stuff and a real solution to so many of the issues caused by man.
Fan of JRE for a long time but only watched clips. This was the first full show I have watched in one sitting. Mind blowing and thank you Paul Staments for the work you do. I will be diving head first in to so much more of Paul’s work. Truly inspiring
Dude this was absolutely mind blowing and mind opening. I think I'm addicted to joe rogan interviewing people like this. Psilocybin, extra dimensional experiences, neurogenesis... Damn thats some good shit.
1:45:00 Portobello mushrooms contain a large amount of agaritine, which can be made in to hydrazine. Two parts hydrazine mixed with one part NH4NO3, creates a powerful chemical explosive, making this a National Security Issue. Paul’s hint was when he referred to this as an “Explosive Issue”.
While there is some truth to the chemical properties mentioned, the statement exaggerates the practicality and immediacy of turning portobello mushrooms into a security threat: Portobello mushrooms, like many other types of mushrooms, do contain a naturally occurring compound called agaritine. Agaritine is a hydrazine derivative, which means it has a chemical structure related to hydrazine. Hydrazine Production: Hydrazine is a compound that can be synthesized and has uses in industrial and aerospace applications. However, converting agaritine from mushrooms into hydrazine is not a straightforward or practical process for individuals without advanced chemical knowledge and equipment. Chemical Explosives: Hydrazine can be used as a component in various chemical reactions, including those that produce explosives. Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) is also known to be used in explosives. However, the specific mixture and process to create a powerful explosive from these chemicals require precise conditions and handling, making it highly dangerous and impractical for casual or unauthorized use. It is more likely that he is referring to agartine’s reputation as being carcinogenic as he has been on record stating such concerns.
This is the deepest most in tune with our true meaning and origin of existence podcast. Paul Stamets is the goat. We are mycelium. We are nature. This is how we thrive.
Well, there was a 2nd Stamets interview that complented this one so well but Joe pulled it down when he sold out to Spotify. Such a travesty, so fuck Spotify and current JRE!
12:20 "You're telling me nature is not intelligent, and yet you are born of nature using the mind to conceive the concept to challenge the idea that nature is not intelligent, when you are part of nature?"
This is one of the most rewarding and fascinating podcasts/videos I have ever found. Brilliant and inspiring. Deep thanks to both Joe Rogan and Paul Stamets.
When this episode aired i knew nothing about mushrooms except the common misconceptions. Two years later and I'm obsessed with them. I never thought this episode would be such a turning point in my interests.
same! i found a lion's mane mushroom within 2 days of seeing this episode, i forget before or after, had my mind blown by its alzheimer's benefits, and my mind blown a second time by finding it so serendipitously. I run a twitter profile for mushroom photos and IDs now lol. People act like it's hard to learn one mushroom from the next, but I didn't even see this episode when it aired, i watched it almost exactly a year ago.
Since you guys been learning about mushrooms what do you know about the Portobello shrom ? No one is talking about it on the comments..he said his life would be in danger, why?
@@goHAMallday1 from what i can find people are talking mostly about cancer, some people actually say he means explosive literaly and they are used for making bombs. But cancer is probably the theory becose of the economics, portobello and button shroms are by far the most sold worldwide. Now im wondering if i can still put shroms on my pizza xD people say they are safe or safer if you cook them in high temperature, so my pizza is safe i hope
It's such a tragedy that nobody knows about this path! I never thought a person could have such a huge amount of wisdom! What a blast! Thank you so much Paul Stamets for the input.
My mind is blown. I could not stop listening to this. One of the best and most informative guests ever. Gives me renewed vigor to pursue this interest. Bring him back ASAP!!!
Rewatching this again to marvel. The first time I watched this it gave me the confidence to try psychedelics and it has completely changed my mindset on life. A magical experience! Thank you Paul
Maybe, just maybe, the fungi he ate got into his system and its controlling all his decisions to make him dedicate his life to defend fungi and convince us humans to protect it . MAYBE
I had that kind of feeling on lsd. All of a sudden after 3 tabs one night I heard a voice say "Ohhhhhhh" "Now I am in control" "feels like I just walked into an empty store" and ive felt very different ever since, better. And lsd is made from some kind of fungus.
Paul is a legend where I come from in Olympia. He is why my college has a mushroom club, people come from all over the world to go to Evergreen because this man went there. I couldn't be more proud. His book was required reading at my school.
Evergreen was known back in the 80's. The students were known as Greeners. They were frequently found laying in pastures on Sunday morning after spending their Saturdays crawling around picking those little China cap shrooms.
I believe in Paul’s Stamets 7 supplement! It has shrunk a tumor I have by 10 times! Others have sworn to have turned active cancer into remission. In any case I know this stuff has beneficial health effects. Thanks Paul!
After this podcast, i got into mycology, specifically about the psychedelic mushrooms. Then I started growing and micro-dosing on psilocybin, it changed my life, it SAVED my life. I was in constant stress and anxiety, my mind had this chatter that kept me awake and I wasn't sleeping at all. Now I am cool as a cucumber, I learned to have patience and that " I " come first and everything else will get here whenever it has to get here, like a tetris piece, you manage your life with whatever it throws at you waiting for that golden piece to clear your mind.
I am in a spot in my life where I have had trauma in the last few years where I can’t feel joy anymore. I am going to start microdosing. In your experience, did it help you feel joy again? I can’t remember what it feels like to feel alive and happy and joyful. This is my last resort to save myself
@@zeppelintheobserver2573 from my experience it helps you sort out your issues going on in your life. I think you should take a large dose before microdosing… microdosing won’t have the same effect without knowing what tripping off mushrooms does to your brain. A big trip will help guide you in the right direction, and might need a couple big trips over a long period of time to find all your answers. Just know if you do take a biggish dose, like around 2.5-3.5gs, that you will have some scary thoughts and experiences throughout the trip but it’s all supposed to happen and will end eventually. -Coming from someone who’s tripped dozens of times over a decade
This guy would be the ULTIMATE tripsitter!! Can you imagine popping 10gs and going for a walk with this dude in the woods while he tells stories and talks about plants and fungi? I'd pay all the money I have for that experience because I think it would legit improve who I am and my long term quality of life!
This is amazing. I realize this podcast is several years old, but I just watched it for the first time and it solidified something for me that I’ve been wondering about for a couple of years but only just now has become absolutely concrete for me while watching this episode. A couple of years ago, I tried psilocybin for the first time. I consumed three full albino penis envy mushrooms one day while I was at home. My experience lasted about seven hours, but peaked at around three hours in. One of the most profound experiences I had during that session was while I was sitting on the toilet, looking down at my tile floor, I observed this extremely vivid, yet shifting, elaborate black and gray filigree pattern on the tile floor. My tiles were plain white with no patterns whatsoever yet I could see this elaborate smoky black filigree pattern all over the tile floor. I also noticed a dark gray shifting smoke that seemed to be, coming up from under the bathroom door as I looked toward the door while I was sitting on the toilet. In the moment I couldn’t figure out how or why I was seeing this hallucination, or at least what I thought at the time was a hallucination. Another thing I experienced while sitting at my dining room table looking down at my hardwood floors, it seemed as if the surface of my hardwood floors was merely the surface of a vast and deep pool. I felt like if I were to dive into the floor I could have literally dove through the floor swimming down into the floor. It’s very hard to describe, but basically I could see that the floor had extreme depth and I had never seen anything like that before. The next day when I was completely sober and sitting on the toilet again, I looked down at the floor and remembered the experience and then decided to get down on my hands and knees with my face really close to the floor, and I noticed something profound. The tiles of my floor had an ever so slight texture that I had never noticed before and upon extremely close examination, I discovered that there was a slight buildup of dirt in the crevices and valleys of the texture on the surface of the tiles because I hadn’t mopped the floor in a couple of weeks. I noticed that the filigree pattern I was observing during my psilocybin experience was that I was observing the extremely light amount of dirt trapped in the tiny crevices of the barely noticeable texture of the tile floor. I understood at that moment that what was happening during my trip was that my visual, acuity and depth perception were enhanced significantly, that I was literally seeing like I had Superman vision. Upon getting down really close to the bottom of the bathroom door, I noticed that what I observed as shifting, dark gray smoke coming up from from under the bottom of the bathroom door was an imperceptible, minute amount of dust that had collected on the bottom, half of the surface of the door. During normal consciousness, this extremely light layer of dust was completely imperceptible, but while experiencing psilocybin, my vision was enhanced so significantly that the fine layer of dust stood out in stark contrast to the beige background of the door like a sore thumb. For the past couple of years, I’ve been wondering if the whole experience was just all inside my head, but after hearing the guest’s story about the gentleman who could hear the ants walking on the deck during his experience, absolutely confirmed for me that what I experienced was real visual acuity enhancement. It was an amazing experience.
That was absolutely your senses heightened to 100%. I know exactly the type of experience you're talking about and it's pretty common for the psilocybin experience. Way to contribute to the case study for the stoned ape!
This video certainly ranks among the best! I watch this video like how some people watch great, past movies simply because they're still incredible. also, I watch Joey Diaz on with Joe Rogan. Those are by far, my favorite times and greatest excitement to see
I have watched/listened to this one episode atleast a dozen times since it came out. Paul says @ 35:20 he gives a pass to the 16-24 year olds to their right of passage... I started looking into this because of the ptsd aspect. I was deployed when I turned 21. Since coming home from my last deployment, I've not had an experience with psychedelics of any sort. I made 4 total deployments... 2 - iraq and 2 - Afghanistan. I have struggled with anger, alcoholism (currently 1yr sober), depression, and PTSD. I am begging our society for help in this aspect. I have something to say about Mr Paul Stamets
We were wiped out by the CA wild fire.
Great generous man
That is a very cool story dude. What a guy! Not everyone in the world has gone to shit. Nice one Mr Stamets
We lost our home in the fires of 2017. Only thing we wish we could've grabbed was our books. Peace friend✌

Hey Kyle do you have an update on this experiment?
adamgm84 Still have some partial seizures but overall a healthy mix of Lion's Mane, GABA, L-tryptophan, cannabis, exercise 2 to 3x a week and a diet with proteins and veggies seems to be the key for me. Still have day to day issues but this allows me to manually manipulate my neurotransmitters. Hope this helps anyone that's at their bottom from a Neuro degenerative condition. It's possible to recover. I'm no doctor just a good student and willing guinea pig to myself.

This is why mainstream TV is dieing, people are sick and tired of dumbed down documentaries in favor of real experts you can learn from.
Not just documentaries everything is dumbed down on tv now, it’s for the people that just stare at a tv all day long.
Still be skeptical
Television is a product. It's a media meant to make money. Entertainment has always been second with traditional media.
If there were only as many videos on youtube as there are channels on tv, I'm sure they'd all be lowest common denominator crap too.

In november i did a good dose on Azurescens, and had one of the machine elves visiting me midway in my trip (the first half was the worst experience in my life). He came to me as a warrior, took away all my negativity and showed my my path forward. All my darkness and the negative energy that comes with that, he took that away.
That's awesome!!

I can explain this in great detail:
You have to understand his headspace, the FDA have a job, which is to create laws, and enforce them in our country.
The reason you don't see him blink is because you are part of the same fungal network and he only blinks when you blink
I noticed that also. I think there are studies that when people are using a lot of effort in their thought process they blink less. Their pupils dilate larger as well when their brain is putting out the effort. However, it is not clear how much effort he is actually manufacturing because many of these points have been made by him over the years in various forums, etc.
That's funny.
@@silverhopeful Later in the broadcast, he starts blinking and even speaks with his eyes closed for a while. I think he's retrieving information.
@@silverhopeful it probably has more to do with the fact that during active thought/conversation you are rapidly moving your eyes which keeps them moist and that's why you have less need to blink.

A lot of hard work goes into getting the legislation loose enough for scientists to really study these mycotoxins and more negative press could make it even harder..
thank you for the info!
thnks for the info
Hydrazines are also highly explosive, maybe he was being sly?
Hmm not sure about this explanation. He's explained this many times before openly about various kinds
of commercial mushrooms and there's no secret, just look it up. However this silent refrain is for me at least
pointing towards something far more nefarious..

“Explosive area of conversation”
Thanks for the explanation.
Yes it makes fuel for rockets and it should never be put in a citizens hands and it is a very serious threat because people use it in the wrong way
So a simple chemical reaction that every single chemist with a phd knows about is somehow "secret knowledge"?
While there is some truth to the chemical properties mentioned, the statement exaggerates the practicality and immediacy of turning portobello mushrooms into a security threat:
Portobello mushrooms, like many other types of mushrooms, do contain a naturally occurring compound called agaritine.
Hands down, in my humble opinion, this is the best podcast on the JRE. There’s so much knowledge packed into this 2.5 hour convo.
