Thanks for posting this!!-And the Goo Goo Dolls are awesome live-you could take a person who isn't a fan to a show, and the energy will change their mind-They have-and deserve-a very devoted fan base.
Aloha Goo Goo Dolls Grammy Nominated three times performed opening of Pro Bowl Hawaii January 30, 2011. First song played Notbroken is the second single from CD Something for the Rest of Us of 2010. Stay with You is the second single and was the second song Goo Goo Dolls performed at the Pro Bowl Hawaii 2011 it is from the CD Let Love In of 2006 both songs were heartfelt choices and we appreciated them Grammy Nominated John Rzeznik and Robby Takas bravo mahalo. awesome-as always-and most bands use a cerain amount of back-up tape-you just can't create the same sound with only a few people-But I've seen them live-Iv'e seen John forget the words to a song, even-They are as real as it gets-and damn good musicians!
@someoneyouknoo If you look on their FB page it clearly says they are going to the stadium for "rehearsal" ...that implies they arent playn just him singing. Also, the background chorus is a clue at 2:16-2:26. I was there it was wet and rainy, they werent plugged in except for his mic
@tjx0116 Hmm...that is curious, I noticed that too. I do wonder about that. Maybe it has to do with reverb or something? Even so, if it was it could of only been the guitar track because you can hear John taking breaths during his vocals. It would surprise me either way. Although it wouldn't change how incredible I know they are. I've heard them at a few sound checks, they're always great. Love them!
@markyarsenal Next you're gonna tell me Stay With You is Pre-Recorded cause the intro's hard with 4 power chords? The guitar is also tuned down from the original live.
@blujkts The band is not playing to tracks. That was all live. Listen to them at red rocks. @markyarsenal He has a wireless pack on his guitar they send that signal to the pa. It's on his guitar strap
@someoneyouknoo It has nothing to do with being a "studio fake". They have literally just a few minutes to get everything set up. It can take hours to set up studio mixing and sounds checks and all that electronic stuff. Yes, Red Rocks was obviously them playing live because they had plenty of hours to set up before the show. The Goo Goo Dolls no doubt are 100% real and they are my favorite band but I'm not ignorant to the fact that Fox decides how things will go down.
@markyarsenal duh, of course they r singing- if u know anything about goo music- duh, check the ad libbing at the end of stay w/ u. - that loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong note john holds instead of singing "i'll stay w/ u" to end the song. duh.
@tjx0116 that's not what I meant. I was trying to say the goo goo dolls ate a real band. Not a studio enhanced one. (Justin bieber) can't sing his own songs.
@GooChrissy I wonder too. (about the song choice, not the boner) lol. I would have done Sweetest Lie, or if they're going to go back to an older song.....hmm...have to think about that. I bet it has something to do with wanting something uplifting and upbeat for a celebratory event?

They deserve a super bowl halftime show more than any of the others that have been there.

Ahh the good days when they actually put real musicians on Halftime!!

Considering any album you buy off iTunes or anywhere or when you rip their CDS after 1995 it's THE Goo Goo Dolls

They're not playing over the track guys, Sorry to disappoint.
Watch them live more.

awsome!
@Tobiah I love it when that happens! ♥
woooooooooow good job
Looveee them :D
LOVEEEE IT!!! ^_^
Backing tracks with a live mic. Still cool songs.
@tjx0116 at 1:34, he's ghost strumming down and strumming up 4 times, listen to it again, you hear its a strummed string, not picked.
@markyarsenal
Next you're gonna tell me Stay With You is Pre-Recorded cause the intro's hard with 4 power chords?
The guitar is also tuned down from the original live.
@markyarsenal
Also the intro is easy..lol. How is it hard to get used to?
It's the same 3 patterns over and over, Until the chorus hits.
@markyarsenal
It's not played in the background, the ambient sound is, that's it.
and I am going, in 10 days.
@blujkts okay if you were there I can't argue with that. But look at Robby at 330 to 350 that's a live bass line way different from the recording.
@someoneyouknoo I got you! You know, I'm going to have to agree with you on that one haha
Can someone please tell me the name of the #81 cheerleader who appears at 4:04? I need to know. Thank you very much
@longster1980 I agree
@blujkts
The band is not playing to tracks. That was all live. Listen to them at red rocks.
@markyarsenal
He has a wireless pack on his guitar they send that signal to the pa. It's on his guitar strap
@blujkts go easy on them , theyve been performing since 1986

@EmeraldLatias I totally called it!
@blujkts they played Stay With You a whole step down. If you observe closely and listen you can tell its legit.
@thefugitivekind That you did. Actually, you were right on all accounts. I think you deserve teh internets.
Flaming baton at 4:51. That is all. ;)
@markyarsenal
It's actually not the recorded track, Either way they're not fake. Watch them live more, Seriously.
@markyarsenal duh, of course they r singing- if u know anything about goo music- duh, check the ad libbing at the end of stay w/ u. - that loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong note john holds instead of singing "i'll stay w/ u" to end the song. duh.
@papayax3 hell yeah, im not even joking either,lol
@blujkts
The band is not playing to tracks. Look up red rocks goo goo dolls. They are epic more than once. they are a ligit band not a studio fake.
anyone else notice the field keeps changing
@tjx0116 that's not what I meant. I was trying to say the goo goo dolls ate a real band. Not a studio enhanced one. (Justin bieber) can't sing his own songs.

@GooChrissy Maybe he just has a hard on for good music
We needed a sign saying Hawaii hates the Giants.
@blujkts aint nothing SAD bout that performance.
@haggiss And why is that =.=
So the band was playing to track and the singer actually sang. So sad.
He's never had it, it's called aging dude.
I dunno who you've been watching over the years, but i disagree,
