The royal marines no longer field their own artillery. We rely on the army with soldiers going through a commando course to join '29 commando royal artillery'. That unit falls under the bigger 3 commando brigade. Which is predominantly royal marines.
Think you mean the C8, the C7s haven't been seen in use for a good 10 plus years now. It depends on unit to unit from what I've seen. It looks like the entirity of 3cdo brigade including army, navy and air force attached personnel are switching over to the C8. Outside of that I think only UKSF, Special Observers, Pathfinder Platoon, SFSG and some VIP protection units get to use the C8.
How long has the RM been on the AR Platform? Is it a new transition or is has it been implemented for sometime but not advertised? Either way, good move
Not in the slightest don't listen to the guys above. They share nothing in common with SEALs. The SBS is in line with DEVGRU from NSWC but 3rd Cdo Brigade has zero dive trained personnel. No underwater operations are carried out by them in the slightest. Potentially the 150-300 lads who go into the SFSG get dive trained for joint ops with the SBS but no other Royal Marine who hasn't served in either 18 Signal (UKSF) or the SBS is dive trained. 47 cdo is comparable to SWCCs, ML's being comparable to Force Recon. The only thing the Marines have in common is more in line with some Army SF elements and 75th Ranger Regiment elements and The Raider Regiment, But that depends on which particular company of each commando since they have an extremely varied opsec.
No Navy Seals Training is a lot harder than RM training although the SBS would be the equivelent to the Seals, however you need to be a trained serviceman before you can attempt special force selection in the UK.
@@spielbergo74 nah. Seal team 6 = SBS. Regular seals = RMC. It also isnt harder unless youre talking about Seal team 6 training which is SO and would of course it would be harder.

real tough guys
Awesome
Badly want to join wish I did when I was younger
How old are you it's never too late I'm considering it
Joint ops are the best ops.
Are the Royal Marines becoming a special operations force?
Special Operations Capable Force
No. First of all, this is a army regiment not marines. Second, don’t confuse specialized tasks (like forward observers) with Special Forces.
Looks great. Really well produced. Sorry, if I am being stupid but I dont understand what 29 commando is. Can someone explain. Are they RM?
The royal marines no longer field their own artillery. We rely on the army with soldiers going through a commando course to join '29 commando royal artillery'. That unit falls under the bigger 3 commando brigade. Which is predominantly royal marines.
Are the brits using the C7 or The M4?
Think you mean the C8, the C7s haven't been seen in use for a good 10 plus years now. It depends on unit to unit from what I've seen. It looks like the entirity of 3cdo brigade including army, navy and air force attached personnel are switching over to the C8. Outside of that I think only UKSF, Special Observers, Pathfinder Platoon, SFSG and some VIP protection units get to use the C8.
@@LS-jv9hp respond when you see this.
@@cheekboy7247 Why?
Hats.
Bad ass video.
How long has the RM been on the AR Platform? Is it a new transition or is has it been implemented for sometime but not advertised?
Either way, good move
Transferring over at the moment. Canadian C5 I believe.
Not an ar
@Grant - stop waffling.
Ain’t RM mate
And the 105mm Light Guns and AA troop? Have they gone?
105's still very much a part of the Regiment 👍 and 23 bty also.
Are they equivalent to U.S. Navy Seals ?
Royal Marines are the UK equivalent of regular Seals, although they're not exactly the same.
Yes
The music was very 'Sicario'. Noticed that they were using AR platform weapons instead of the bullpup, is that normal?
Future Commando Force is shifting to C8 instead of the L85. Ally toys for ally blokes
It is not a AR
@@cheekboy7247 well help me out, what is it then? Haha
@@jamierenwick1086 not an armalite, it is a diemaco c8
@@cheekboy7247 what's an armalite? I meant AR like 'assault rifle' haha
Forward Observation Battery 👀
warriors
The army needs to get some alli para adverts
Anyone know why the Royal Marines use M4's and The Army still use SA80's?
@BossmanFromEnds Thanks
@Grant and the marines in 148 (and probably some other specialized units in 3 CDO)
All members of 3 Commando Brigade use the Colt now.
You see here Army guys wearing Colts, so…
Now were fucking talking boys HARD AS NAILS🏴☠️🇨🇦🇱🇷🤙🍀
Turkey is the most ready country in the world for one-on-one war experience. At least 8 million people have clashed with terrorism in the country since 1984. Real conflict in the mountains is not like in the movies. No training protects you in real conflict. You can't win if you don't know how to embrace death. As someone who spent a year in the mountains after studying at one of the world's leading commando schools. The first rule of success in conflict is to forget this world and do what you need to do calmly by embracing dying. War is not a PC game.
