Was in training at CTCRM in 1979 and one of our instructors was a sergeant sniper who when serving in Belfast hid out in buildings, (along with his team), taking out IRA gunman. He was so successful he was awarded a medal! I won't name him but suffice to say he was a Corps legend.
Excellent skills and drills. I wouldn't have the patience to be a sniper plus I was an average shot. Mates of mine have attended British army sniper courses and they are nails. Not for me though, too much like a graft.
Yeah, I know adult males don't weigh 80 pounds. I meant they probably misheard someone say 80kg and then drew the comparison that it's the same as body weight. I doubt any uniformed members said they were carrying their own body weight on their backs.
If they know that their adversaries have use of thermal optics they can implement thermal clothing and blankets that disguise their heat signatures. It's very affective as well! :D
targets in the urban setting were so obvious, I would spot them if I wasn't on the training. Peek of Grey Man

When i was serving in the super army soldiers, after i did the balcony at the embassy i was speaking to a royal who i really wanted to be. Magnificent creatures
@@davidmacnutt9184 This is untrue, of course those who have only ever used AR platforms will say the L85 is awkward and slow, since it’s a completely different layout and requires a different manual of arms. Every soldier is taught how to properly use their weapon, that’s all that matters. The main issue with the L85 is not being able to shake the poor PR from its first iteration…
Yeah, I thought that was kinda odd as well. It's specifically a US Marine term, one that has actually been disbanded. There are only Reconnaissance Snipers and Raider Snipers now. The Scouts have lost the Sniper role and are now just "Scouts."
Who decided background music was necessary and that music particularly!!!??? BTW it's called background music for a reason. I expect this would have been very interesting, that's why I clicked!!!
i wonder, if they utilize drones with snipers... with todays technology, you can stay alot more further from the enemy, yet be so close. the utility of drones collecting intel has a way bigger impact with less risk than sending a squad into the red zone.
80kg on their back ? "No, your knee injury isn't service related :)"
Literally super humans walking amongst us mere mortals. Thank you Royal Marines

Fair one, that looked gopping.

those guys playing opfor must be having the time of their lives
Awesome 🇬🇧😉👍🇬🇧
very good insight. Wish I could go back in time and start over again. RM Snipers are def the best trained.
God bless lads ❤

80kg on their backs? JTFC!
I think she might of meant 80 pounds?
80kg - about the same as their own body weight.
@@teggy689no way their body weight is 80 pounds lol. Definitely 80kg
12.5 stone or 176lbs, that way madness lies!

You guys still go to Jura?
Thermal FPV drone has entered the chat.
Very interesting update tanks++

oh no if only we had stuff that works against thermals since the 80s....oh wait

The best snipers on this planet they are known as.
It’s good to work in a 4 men team as there’s someone watching your 6 at all times and someone in reserve. This wouldn’t be possible in a 2 men team
Bet that was an unusual uber eats order... 4 pizzas, deliver to the disused building with the 4 armed blokes... :)
Interesting that the commandos in the film don’t seem to have moved over to the C8 or KS1 yet.
Not all of them but there are specific units within the marines that have implemented those weapons I.e 42 CDO boarding team, 43 CDO, SRS, 148 bty.
@@dylanjohns8409and 40 and 45 both in process of getting it right now
They're on a course at ctcrm. Training courses will carry on using the sa80. The operational units are getting ks1 or continuing with the c8
New weapons go to operational units first, not training schools.
Israelis are the best Snipers, they get to practice on live targets on all shapes and sizes
what are u trying to say?
I don't want to be that guy, but I thought the Royal Marines had ditched the SA80 for the new KS-1 (L403A1)?
Bro! It's only " certain " Royal Marine commandos units getting it
@@BobFiltration well that's disappointing
@@davidmacnutt9184The A3 is great, it depends on the operational requirements.
@@wardy6224 But I heard the bulpup design is still quite awkward to handle and slower to reload compared to AR style rifles?

All that cam and its ruined by white socks.

poor underfunded marines :c
Why are they shooting on 2 (5,4,3,2) and not like 3,2,1? for me 2 is an realy odd number

Only the Marine Corps calls our guys "Scout/Snipers". The other DA units just say, "Sniper".
"Opponent" - what happened to "Enemy"?
Opponent is a more brought term.
Opfor is a standard training definition since forever... You going to be okay?
@@evulclown If only they'd used that.
I've been do it for a while now so I'm fine.
I'm sure you definition of "forever" is only 5 years or so anyway.

Security guards for the rich gobalists, well done
Feels good posting this on a platform brought to you by a rich globalist, doesn't it?
If you have served I'm disappointed in your comment you would know that those globalist hardly ever issue a command to release the boys outside of sf.
If snipers are so detailed, careful, and accurate, then why do Israeli snipers shoot children?
Because they want to...
