Fr. Mike continues reading from the book of Nehemiah as we read of the many attempts to prevent Nehemiah from doing the great work of God. We also see the events that lead to Esther being chosen as queen and the goodness she will bring even in the midst of a broken system. Today’s readings are Nehemiah 6-7, Esther 1-2, and Proverbs 21:1-4.

Thank you father, I am very thankful for this bible in a year, for is been almost 2 years that I stared listening and I just want to say thank you because if it wasn’t for this bible in a year program I will never had read the bible, I stared many times and was so lost and had to stood because nothing made sense to me before, but now Thanks to you Father I am almost done!!! And after this I can’t wait to star the Catechism in an Year and is all for you Thank Father! And yes I am praying for you everyday now. God Bless you Father

WOW... I can not believe that today ( 10/01/2024 ) is day 275 which means it is 100 days left of the 365 days of the amazing podcast Bible in a year podcast with Father Mike Schmitz and Ascension press. Deo gratias ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It is my third time doing this podcast. I did it in 2021, 2022 and now in 2024. Thank God Almighty for all His faithful Priests, Nuns and all the religious people in the church. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Your son's and you and your x husband if he is good should not get tortured, troubled and harrassed from each others and outsiders. Fr. Too pray for you. I wish remember you and all like you in prayers.
Father Mike, thank you and blessings be to you. My husband and I are prolife and conservative. Our youngest two adult children won't speak to us or allow us to see our grandchildren, we are heartbroken. We don't preach to them, we just know we raised them with love and truth and now they totally reject us. Please pray for us, we've lost joy. And hope and trust. We love them, but don't cave in to their prodeath views.
I am so very sorry for what you are going through. Your heartbreak is deep and wide and I can feel it all the way to Texas. Prayers for your family heading your way.

Day 275 wow. We've come a long way. It's been quite a journey for me as this is the first time I understand the readings more than ever thanks to Father Mike. Looking forward to queen Esther.

My whole, family members living, deceased, resting, sleeping, waiting in peace of almighty. My father y boy. My husband a boy and all our sons and daughters for all our individual and family right, good, goodness, blessed, inocent, created. Prayers , intentions, request, petitions, desires, dreams, needs, blessings, love, care, help, guidance, protection at our ages and as boys and girls............ I pray never ever anyone of us should get out of the way you almighty God created, blessed, gave us life to live as boys and girls. Always away and safe from all enemies, hatful, jealous, evils, bad, hells, wrong. Never we should become anyone of them and hells peoples and hells non peoples..........Thank you almighty God. According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory:
Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
and in my family. Amen.
In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

Fr I have been listening to the pod cast at my own pace has anyone found that the podcasts sounds like Father is on speed the readings are. So fast. I stop listening now I see here on you tube it is wonderful and I understand his reading. Maybe who ever is in charge of pod cast can fix this problem 🙏🏻 God Bless you Father Mike.

Proverbs 21

Dear Mike, thanks for your nice presentation. Can you explain why Esther, in chapter 4, was justifiably hesitant to take Mordecai's second message (about Haman vs. the Jews) to Ahasuerus, but did not hesitate at all in chapter 2, regarding taking Mordecai's first message (about Bigthan and Teresh) to Ahasuerus? Since the laws of Persia were not easily changed (8:8), it would seem that either of these interruptions to Ahasuerus' schedule could have resulted in her being executed. (I think I can explain this, but I'd like to know your thoughts.)
I read that the Two eunichs were trapping the King with a cake and then they were sent to the isle of perpetual tickling.

I thought only the mother of the king was called Queen???
I believe that just applied to the kings of Israel during the period of the kings. In the period we're reading now, the Jews are "under new management" so to speak.
Hebrews 4:11. Example of unbelief. Is haman the Jesus and Esther the Mary? Is Mary the tzaddik to gain merit? Is Mary the Kippur Azazel?(woman in the wilderness) since Jesus is the "blood" goat? Mary the morning star(Lucifer)? Like Aaron the morning star since her/ Elizabeth daughters of Aaron?
