From Valhalla with Love | ArmA 3 40k - A Fustercluck in Only War

- Nothing quite like the 40k Space Finnish Russians facing Iron Warriors in a winter Chernarus. This heavy fire is from Valhalla, with love.
Cheers to Digby for being the excellent commissar. Check him out here: / digbytathamwarter
What unit/clan is this?
This is my unit, the Cadian XXth. Casual milsim, roleplay and all those weird ops that you never get to play in your normal milsim group. Find out more in the discord. / discord
What is this mod?
It's called There is Only War, and is an amazing mod that is constantly updated. Go support the devs: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Are you SovietWomble?
I wish. Video definitely has inspiration from the likes of Soviet and Max0r, but I try to strike a nice line for telling a story, humorous edits and actual gameplay. For something like this, I don't feel the need to edit in every word said. Plus, I edited this in a day, so time constraints were another issue.

"speak of the devil and i shall appear" commissar digby
"I've got night vision goggles motherfuckers, I can see you standing about! YOU!" Legit sounds like something a Commissar would yell in-canon.
@@luketfer do they even have the capacity to deploy NVGs to baseline humans?
@@seand.g423 To a high-ranking commissar? Possibly. The quality of gear you get in the WH40K universe is dependent upon how prestigious/important your unit is and how high of rank you are. Commissars and officers definitely get better gear than your bog standard guardsman. In some Cadian units, you can even expect to have decent gear as a veteran Sergeant.
Also depends heavily on where your regiment was raised and who is resupplying it. If your home and/or warzone is close to a forgeworld, you can expect to get some pretty cool toys. Valhalla in particular also has a very good industrial base of its own and their volunteer units get some very nice kit. Their _conscript_ regiments on the other hand get the old "first man gets the lasgun, second man gets the power pack" treatment...:P

Orbital: Greetings, planet and/or continent.
Nuke: This is a Public Service Announcement.
That commissar is perfect. That night vision moment was gold
Yay, now it's the devil number.
Whilst Ciaphas Cain is probably my favourite 40k character, I must say Commissar Digby comes a close second. 😁👍
His typical British understatement and comic timing are perfectly suited to his role as a terrifying military enforcer
There's canon, and then there's Commissar Digby.
201st like I messed with perfection
So that was Digby? Nice!
Still hope to bump into him myself.
Why not comissar yarrick
The Emperor shall guide these Artillery shells!
*Comissar gets hit with it*
Time?
@@thelonecourier3439 He sends Artillery at 8:15 and at 9:55 the comissar says something about being killed by indirect fire
It merely confirms the emperor has a sense of humor. -Anonymous guardsman, later executed.
@@nonya1366 No, killed by (very direct) indirect fire
That comissar was secretly a HERETIC
"Sir, how many men should participate in this glorious charge?"
"Take the amount of bullets our enemy has, multiply it by three, then square it. *THAT* is how many men..."
"But sir! That is the entirety of our our force!"
*"EXACTLY! CHARGE!!!"*
since grif's the enemy, that'll be 36 bayonets
That was some fast maths
Kharn The Betrayer quick maths
@@JustAJosuke "No buckshot?"
@kriegertechpriest7011 everyone knows grif only ever has the two bullets, and he's gonna waste the first one missing in an attempt to shoot himself.
"The hills are alive, with the sound of *WHOOSH*. We will sing this song for a thousand -ah emperor, I run out of promethium"
Commissar Digby is just...so good....his voice for speeches is so 40k and I love it.
I ironically wish Games Workshop would hire him to do voice work. idk for what, but his Commissar voice is fantastic.
He does a great job with it and I’m convinced that he owns a copy of The Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer in real life. Don’t know how recently the Black Library publishes the real-life version (got my copy about ten years or so ago) but most of the speeches and the articles he sites when executing people are in it.
@@procrastinatinggamer I watched a couple of his livestreams when he attended as a commissar. I heard him saying some off-hand remark about which page something he was looking for was on. I'd say you are probably right.
@@procrastinatinggamer got a copy of the latest version myself. lucky I got it apparently sold out in 5 min or so.
@@Zack_Wester It was gone fast and all you can find now are copies on ebay and amazon for 200 or so dollars.
10:15 so the lasguns are being used for their intended purpose
As a flashlight.

Very deadly flashlights

They have a lot of french, English, and american influence to, all from that front
And theyre more inspired by the German military of ww2, less by the ss
Death is no fear if you do the god emporors service
Looks like Digby learned his mistakes from holdfast.
That lesson would of course be: don't give your speeches while attacking.
"...by a bunch of Finnish space Russians."
...not sure how to feel about that one. I mean it's not entirely wrong, I guess, but...
Guess I'll just say "Send in the next wave!" and leave it at that :p
Fun fact since I know the guy. The only reason Valhallans are in the TIOW mod is because a dev for TIOW was also working on a Finnish WW2 mod (Northern Fronts, I believe?) and decided he'd already done most of the work, so why not add Valhallans while he's got the materials?
@@TheTimeHero can we ask him to make a bolt thrower with the model of PTRD?
"Send in the next Wave! For Chenkov!"
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how well Digby can do an improv commissar?
10:16 - the Imperial Guard standard-issue flashlight living up to its name.
In the grim darkness of the far future; there is not one but TWO Russia's in space!

Rimmy you sound like a Russian with a French accent for some unknown reason.
Rimmy is tsar Alexander apparently
@@SomeguyWhoLikesVideos He was French?

These are false Russians. These Vikings to need to be sent back to their homes. FOR VOYSTROYA!

Commissar Digby's pashion and his love for the Golden emperor of man kind is absolute and unwavering!
Im so SENSUALLY IN NEED OF A PURGE!
Valhalla = Ural Penal Conony, New lore drops are weird these days
Also, why does the -Russian- Valhallan army have an Britaniaian Comissar?
Joint task force
Because Commisars are trained at the Schola Progenium and they draw on recruits across the galaxy?
I've always been under the impression that Commissars are almost as a rule never placed in units that may have originated from their (or their families, since the Schola are intended for orphans) homewolrd. After all, it wouldn't do for the political officers to have such silly notions as "cameraderie" towards those they are meant to lead by example and punish as necessary...
This may not apply to any PDF-attached Commissars, though.
Commissars, psykers, Tempest scions, Ministorum priests, and tech priest enginseers are attached to the regiment itself, ergo not from the drawn regiment's homeworld generally.
Commissary Digby is not only a secret Perpetual, but a man of many talents.
Rimmy ever think about a Imperial fist siege
That would be great
SMs need slightly more content before we use them as anything but ancillary in ops, unfortunately. They don't even have vehicles yet.
Needs more work
11:50 Their firing line was so strong they obliterated his soul too.
I *need* a full version of that parody of Country Roads in my life.
Love the content Rimmy, but this scared me, I was literally reading about the Space Wolves, when the video published.
Wich book?
I haven't had the glory of being able to read any of the actual books, most of my knowledge comes from Wikis and such. Allow me to reword that, all of my "knowledge" comes from the web.

@@SYKRAL1 don't forget the Emperor's light blessing that one vehicle in particular
Shawn Williams but that was the emperor's light, nothing early going on there. Also I'm pretty sure that was just a floodlight strapped to the roof.
YES! I love the Valhallan Ice Warriors they are so cool and great at Ork slaughtering.
Edit: Valhallan uniforms can be blue in some cases.
It's only because the uniforms for this company were white only. Blue-uni'd valhallans are in the mod too.
@@TheTimeHero I figured that blue uniforms were in the mod but rimmy said that blue uniforms were hostile, and they were combating Iron Warriors, who are traditionally grey in color.
@@inductivegrunt94 Because space marines are fairly OP, I only had them placed in the big fortress for this operation. The blue-white uniformed people were their underlings. Standard planetary-pdf-gone-baddies. Actual uniform is a mixture of krieg blue trench + white cadian tanker armor.

Most glorious moment of entire video, much Russkie, much soviet

Digby is such an inspirational commissar. AVOS AVE IMPERIUM!
The beginning is absolutely glorious! something about mass artillery is just sooooo satisfying
that OP was so much fun the campfire scene was honestly amazing
I always watch these expecting a "All hail the Man-Emperor of Mankind!".
The dude that always plays the role of Commissar is a fucking legend. His RP is on point and generally just seems like he would be cool to play with, as in, he knows his shit and makes the experience richer. Tennouttaten would praise the emprah again.
this is how i will only ever canonically imagine vallhalans talk from now on
good to see you guys are still playing Arma 3, i haven't for a long ass time, though watching some of your vods makes me want to xD - Binns from SOCOMD
Your upload schedule is really impressive, not gonna lie. Unironic complement, Emperor protects
This is how I imagined a usual day with a Valhallan regiment. Glad I read all those Ciaphas Cain novels.
Seriously, the Cain novels are my absolute favorite things in all of 40k, and that's saying something given my love for the Space Wolves.
On a second I trough you're playing as Soviets and then
FOR THEE EMPERAGHHH
Love Digby's inspirational commissariat speeches and your reference to tanna, Rimmy!
Ciaphas Cain approves
My favourite thing in the video was lowkey the dude operating the artillery that you could just hear shout FUCK YOU HERETIC over the sound of the artillery barrage.
Commissar Digby! Commissar Dignby! Commissar Digby!
Rimmy sounds like a drunk russian with a... well, something in his mouth when he says "from valhalla with love."
This is my favorite SovietWomble video
The moment the Commissar attempts a speech near a Titan is the moment he is gonna get stepped on.
As a Russian airborn trooper, I confirm that this depiction of the Russian-inspired military is quite accurate. Pity we don't have the Comissars, though.
dude 7:55 , nigth vison in a blizzard its such a mood

Mason: *Thinks Reznov is alive*
The numbers: Yeah, that's about right.
Rimmy: Perfect thing to change, but say at a certain time, not sure when though...
I like the idea that everybody knew Commissar Digby at some point, and every regiment sees him because he keeps getting reassigned.
I'm sorry can we just take a second to appreciate the last words in this video, "I guess the Iron Warriors were a bit rusty?".
Life is cold there

You need to have Digby in your events more often.

Good job, men!
Now prepare for mind wipes.
All that artillery... Kenneth would be so proud!
So I gather this is a 40K mod for q game called Arma 3. I have no idea what those are but am greatly interested in them. Thx for uploading this Rim!

This is quite the action packed slideshow
That's fucking awesome, as much 40k Arma as you can throw at us, don't hesitate! I just wish I had a good enough computer to run Arma without it shitting itself and passing out.
Commissar Digby will never die!
A fucking Titan shows up, and then just gets vaporized.
Sure, why not.
Oh dang. I have played for a while with the Cadian 700th. I'd love to try out some of your OPs. They look so fun.
« Shatter their sky! » *perfection*
Commissar Digby is definitely my favourite person in this series.
3rd favorite commissar though but the other two are Gaunt and Cain so that's some pretty stiff competition.
Ayyy you put in the victor reznov bit!!!!!
The victtories of the cadian xxth can be attributed largely to the morale improvements provided by commisar digby.
Around the 9:40 mark, he says over radio "Kill the Fascists!"
Havent even seen the video but this add is great.
Edit: the add was Soap for Dudes.
Comisar digby picks up rice in church and then praises the emperor
i keep expecting the leaders giving the speeches to get sniped XD
