Good timing on this video. I got those V-3's back in November, so I finally got used to the difference between potentiometer and load cell. I needed to see something like this to see how make the most of them. I have the stock ones, cause I'm kinda new to all this but I'll get the brake rubbers and see what happens! Nice post my friend. Great video. Love my v3s. Bought the performance kit but yet to get around to installing it. Also have the damper on the throttle which is nice but maybe not worth the cost, as said in the video.

With the stock V3 pedals if you wind the preload all the way out to number 6 they don’t feel that bad imo, I do agree that the BPK is definitely worth getting though

I love my v3's!!! I agree that the damper is not worth it, I also had it on the gas pedal but removed it all together. Brake performance kit is a must have, I use two #13 greens without any cotton config and my personal BF setting is 75 and ...and yes salt is best taken by the grain. Great review RC!

Hey MrP.. So I got the V-3's a little while ago. after reading a bunch of these comments, I am going to order the perf kit. Thanks ahead of time for 'cementing the decision' . My rig is full motion so I was a little frustrated that the V-3's weighed so much that I had to rebalance my rig. (posted videos on it) but Well worth it now.. Upgrade from logitech makes it seem a lot lot better. DMAX

'a little more longevity....' Dude I am running on CSP v1 since around 11 years. Bought the Enhancement Kit back then which equipped the brass bushings, that are now standard on the V3. Thus these pedals will virtually never break. Oh and forgot to mention: I am still on the first loadcell even though i have two replacements here just in case.

Within 2 months and about 2000 laps of road racing the brake load cell is defective. Hold the pedal steady and the input is twitchy. They are sending me a replacement - and offered to fix it. In the meantime I don't have another set of load cell pedals and I'm losing points in my league racing. And they won't sell me a spare either to avoid lost time if this happens again. Get the brake performance kit.

It doesn’t matter throughout games which rubbers you use. Once you find that “sweet spot” in brake stiffness that works for you, you want to keep it the same to not mess with your muscle memory. Just use the tuning menu for adjustments 😊

Hello there, i enjoyed your video very much. I live in the UK and have just purchased a brand new set of V3 pedals for £350.00. Do you think this is a good deal, and that i will enjoy using them?
I am currently using Thrustmaster TLCM pedals and would appreciate your opinion on what is better?
I am waiting for my Fanatec DD Pro direct from the manufacturers as i am buzzing about switching to direct drive from belt drive and upping the Nm of torque and detail.
Have i made a good value all in all purchase? I also have a professional racing seat with the HF8 seating pad installed which is a perfect fit and great addition (another £190.00) but heightens the experience of feeling the car and road conditions.
I have a sturdy GT Omega rig also, and the TH8S gearbox.
Do you think i have made a good decision, and at a reasonable price, albeit, still expensive?
I mainly my Thrustmaster T-GTII on PS5, but also have self built great PC system and Xbox! Could you also recommend a Fanatec steering wheel compatible with my Xbox (1X/Series X also please...
Am subscribed to you now, as you seem honest and your content is of good clarity.
Please reply with any advice, and i thankyou in advance.
    Yours sincerely, Drew. 👍🖖

I had the V2 a few years ago, it was the best pedals i ever had. Too bad the loadcell died almost every 2 or 3 months. After the warrity ended they started to ask 20 euros plus 20 for shipping for each loadcell what made me sell them. The fanatec porshe gt2 wheel i had also gave me a lot of problems. Dunno how they do nowadays in terms of reliability. Had a friend starting in SimRacing and went for the T-LCM. I would really like a long term review on both of these.

i recently upgraded from the thrustmaster TLCM to the fanatec V3 with brake kit and the difference is fairly big, the TLCM i had were very problematic, the pedals would have way too much lateral movement, the plastic inside the base was deteriorating, they creaked and squeaked so i took them apart and found the plastic wearing away where the pedals would be fitted and the pin system would be too loose with no way to tighten them. i had a throttle spring snap mid race but continue to operate... gosh they were just awful and built so poorly. the brake was also just not very good, with stock springs there was always the feeling of bottoming out the brake so it never felt like a real car at any point, one that worked properly anyway, i upgraded the springs to apex mods for the brake and that improved things massively but there still was always a point where the brake pedal hard stopped... the V3 on the other hand has a much better brake feel, there is just a little bit of give at the end of the brake travel to make it feel how a real car would feel being under hydraulic pressure. its built much much better as one would expect. the only small let down for me is the throttle is too light for me even with the stiffer spring, i don't have the damper so speaking about at stock, the TLCM did have a better feeling throttle but that was when i swapped the clutch and throttle springs, ironically it was that clutch spring that snapped. anyway nice review, kind of sums it up nicely

V3 make the CSL Elite look like a cheap afterthought
Liking fanatec or not, it's undeniable that those are a pretty great piece of equipment, especially since they sit in that hole of "more expensive than csl or tlcm but less expensive than higher end like sprints or cup1" like you said.
However, at their price point, the few rubbers the brake performance kit is should be a part of the package - they market them as adjustable and they don't include the rubbers but some old foam found behind a wardrobe, classic stingy fanatec.

thank you very much for this review, really appreciated! I still own the discontinued CSR Elite Inverted pedals (also with loadcell), do you think the V3s are a worthwhile upgrade? The loadcell of the CSRs works like a treat and I am also quite happy with the throttle, so before watching your vid, I would have thought that the biggest upgrade will be the vibration helping me to avoid locking the brakes or understeering. But now you called them "gimmicky" and I no longer know, if the pedals are a worthwhile upgrade? I have been using my CSRs for 8 years and they didn't have a single fault, I didn't even service them once.

    • @randomcallsign

    • @Mountain_Manu
      @Mountain_Manu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@randomcallsign but what exactly is the big advantage of the V3s over the CSRs?

    • @randomcallsign
      @randomcallsign  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Mountain_Manu essentially a better brake pedal. The CSR has just a small foam on the inside and a low pressure loadcell, the V3 double on the amount of foams + PU + preload in the brake pedal which makes the pedal experience different. You can make the brake pedal really hard too.
But like I said, of you like the CSRs and you have a good experience with it, theres really no point in spending money.

I mean, to me it’s absolutely ridiculous to have a $300 product that is OK and needs an additional purchase to actube good. The BPK should be included in the kit.

Agreed. The v3 should come with a stock rubber comparable to the csl 60 shore. That's why I went so hard on it.

@@randomcallsign yep. You put a lot of focus into it. But I see so many reviews out there that treat this as a minor thing and that is insane to me.
      Keep up the good work.

I love mine but I would save a bit more and get the heusinkveld 2 pedal set unless you really need a clutch.
Edit: Forget the mixing and matching of the rubber cylinders, it's such a pain in the ass take the brake pedal apart that you won't be switching them once you install the brake performance kit, plus you have to lube the cylinders (hehe) as well every time you switch them around

Oh wait a sec! I always thought V3s have a load cell especially at that crazy price! Wow! I'm amazed really...(negatively)

      They do

@@randomcallsign so what's all about the foam and the brake performance mod kit?! And the mushy default feeling?!
I admit I don't have enough knowledge about them, but with all due respect, if those pedals have load cell, you probably didn't do a good job at conveying that. I don't recall I heard you say "load cell" the whole video except towards the end where you said that they could be better than the CSL load cells if you want more customisability, which reinforced my thoughts that they aren't LC but could rival that.
Maybe you mentioned preload couple of times but it could be thought of as the hardness of the pedal or the rubber inside.
      Peace!

@@simulationstimulation961 the video mentions the 90kg adjustable load cell at 1:53. Also, this is not a video where I explain what a load cell is. The mushy feeling is not the load cell, it's the original rubber on the brake pedal, which the brake performance kit resolves.

The V3s are fine without the brake performance kit. I used them for 3 months before installing the brake performance kit out of boredom while in Covid lockdown. The brake performance kit makes it really hard to push on the brakes (less travel) when using two greens and the foam. However, I found i had much better control. So it was worthwhile.
