    I see cat - I upvote haha :3 ; bought myself a 2nd hand TomTom Rider (400) last year, best investment ever! Really easy to use, just set a destination and choose how windy the route should be. And it comes with lifetime map updates which is nice too...

      😹 That’s awesome, I always say, to each their own. Whatever works right? 👍

    Your a great teacher. Nice video. I went with the Zumo XT on mine. I got in a dead zone last year and had to ride randomly with a broken rib to get signal to end my ride. I was following a GPX, so I couldn’t get a new map and was essentially lost. Going to Colorado next year, I’m not taking any chances.

      Hey thanks a lot Ron. That is the more obvious safe choice. America is so massive, lots of dead spots. I was thinking the same for Hokkaido, but I think I lost signal once while I was there. I also recommend downloading the map area to your phone as a back up. If your Zumo goes bad, you’ve got your phone’s GPS. Have find man! I was in Colorado a few years back, devils punchbowl!

      Hehe, yeah, as long as it works for you. If you find it disconnecting when off-road, well, you can always refer to the second half of my video🤣.

    Thanks for the video. I added that navigation unit to my C125 last week. Love it. I've been thinking about that KTM 390, and seeing your vids, it's starting to look even more enticing. Any particular reason why you picked that one vs the 890? BTW, I'm Japan-based, too! よろしく。lol

      Hey Paul, thanks man. I love the ct125! I want one of those myself. My dream combination would be that, my 390 and maybe something larger around 900cc. I chose the 390 mainly because I have the 400cc license and I wanted as much power as possible. It a perfect bike for the kind of off road they have here.
      Nice!! Where are you based? I’m in Saitama.

      @@advinjapan Awesome. Good on ya for maxing out to close to 400. I made the biggest error this past March by not going for the chugata-manual bike license thinking that kogata-automatic would be enough. Saitama was my landing spot upon arrival to Japan way back in history. I'm in Fuchu, Tokyo. If up for a coffee to talk bikes, let me know. A buddy of mine and I are lusting over that 390. : )

      I used mine for a few months and found that I wasn’t actually using it because of the pain of having to manually connect the phone every time. Touch is also a little shoddy.

      For the money it’s great. I installed one on my Can Am Spyder RT. Works great and you DON’T have to plug your phone into it . The Bluetooth works seamlessly. The only complaint I have is the sun visor should extend out further. Sometimes in the day it’s hard to see.

    Will the bracket fit engine a half handlebars? If not, do they have a bracket that you can get that will?

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure what you mean here, are asking if the unit will mount to the handlebars? Yes, it will. The mount included uses a u-bolt that can be tightened down to a very small diameter.

    • @rickied1418
      @rickied1418 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @advinjapan Sorry about that. I was using voice to text and I didn't proofread it first. I was asking if the brackets that it comes with will fit inch and a half diameter handlebars.

    • @advinjapan
      @advinjapan  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @rickied1418 oh yeah, it’s a u-bolt mount so it will sinch down to a very small diameter.

      Hey, I’ve actually taken this off the bike. I just never used it, mainly because it was a pain to have to connect the phone via Bluetooth every time I cycled the key. And the touch panel isn’t the best. I’d recommend something a little nicer. Perhaps the 7 inch model?
