This is why I have a love hate relationship with the slow burn, because when it pays off its so sweet; but when they play it too slow and idiots cancel the show before we even get a kiss. Now all we have are videos on youtube to watch while thinking about what could have been. It hurts man.

It still weird to me how they dragged on MacDesi for so long, when MacRiley has always been the one that made more sense. Is it not obvious they had feelings for each other since the beginning? Lol we really need that season 6
I want to believe they dragged that so they can extend the series, if they put MacRiley together so soon, it'd have ended sooner? the series are about those two basically: the super smart hacker and the genius saving the world BUT they probably wanted to normalize a toxic relationship? So they dragged MacDesi to torture us? 🤔😅
@@helena_aña oh it was torture alright. I just rewatched season 5 last week and discovered a few episodes that I have no recollections whatsoever. And mostly they were MacDesi centered episodes...it took me 2 days to finish that royal wedding episode. It was so boring. The writers truly did them dirty lol.
I understand the want/need to extend the series but they could have done it without any romance to be fair. Just them working on themselves and saving the world. That would be more interesting to me at least.

And if they eventually continue with the series but insisting on that toxic relationship and purposely hurting Queen Riley, I'm done here, this fan-door closed for MacGyver, not gonna force myself into self mental desi-flagelation... gonna cope with fanfiction and these fantastic MacRiley edits. LOL 😅 😂

I'm increasingly surprised by the blindness of many tv producers when they waste the HUGE potential of series that they themselves sent to the trash by canceling them. Without caring, in the slightest, about the LOYAL audience they had.
It has happened many times. I remember now 'tarzan' (only one season of 8 episodes!!). Also with great potential to develop it.
In my opinion what matters least to them is making their audience happy.
MAC and RILEY were perfect for each other, here, on mars, ganymede or any lnhabitable planet in this infinite universe.
This is why I wait for a series to end before binging it. Dedicating time to watching a show and getting invested only to have it cancelled leaving unresolved plot points and frustrated viewers is far to common now.

@@vitoria395 MacRiley was going to be together starting from episode 2 because Desi went back to her fiancé who she thought was dead in episode 1. Episode 2 was supposed to be about Riley going undercover and it got dangerous. Mac found out and that’s how they got together. The writers said.

It seems like the plan was to put them together and have them as a couple in future seasons, they just played it too slow. For my sanity and heart, I'll consider it canon that they got together and try to be happy with that. Sucks though.

The situation that which was depicted in the above scenes between Mac and Riley is pretty much relatable with today's relationship status. Well truth be told there is no forcing anyone in particular to have feelings for one another, it happens naturally and if it does, it becomes the sole responsibility of both the concerned individuals to safeguard the RELATIONSHIP amidst temptations and trials of life. We truly wish our lives would be like a smooth highway but as we all know that is definitely not the case. We thus become sober as years go by and we are no longer emotionally wreaked people but yes it depends entirely on the person whether to accept the life the way it is, be it positive or negative, life still goes on as usual. What is necessary to be understood regarding love is that it goes both ways, nobody wishes to remain alone all their lives but certainly we are not a big fan of broken hearts or failed relationship or betrayal. No body is perfect except for God alone and if we are patient enough and submit to his will then our lives are some what manageable or relatively easy to get by. If someone is yet to experience love the person would be required to be realistic and positive but also be a person who would not give in to the temptation of changing one's self or forgo his/her self respect all for the sake of Relationship!

I kind of stop watching this show when Jack left. And when they brought in Desi and made her a love-interest, I really stopped watching it. I'm convinced Jack leaving and Desi's character ruined ratings.

The only reason why I felt MacDesi should go on was because it would have been unfair to Desi if Mac just chose Riley....but I think it's pretty clear that there's no chemistry between MacDesi whereas MacRiley is a perfect fit!

This is what happens when you drag the romance for way too long. Because complained about the show and once of the complaints was how much slow the romance progressed and now it’s cancelled. Please future shows. Learn from this. Same happened with scorpion. Season 4 got low rating because of how poorly they handled the romance between Walter and Paige and now it’s cancelled. Romance either kills a show or has it become successful.

desi was actually the worst character ever, she had no chemistry with mac, just really bad at acting and was constantly pretending to be tougher than everyone else. i also hate how they forced her character to have a friendship with jack even though we never saw them together.
i would rate the seasons of the show in order from season 1-5 as the writing just got worse and plus jack wasn’t there anymore! when desi’s character first appeared on the show is when i started skipping through episodes.
this show had way more potential. same with magnum p.i., they just keep on cancelling the good shows and the writing gets sloppier as each season goes on.
Apparently, Desi's first husband was going to be alive and returning to her in season 6, and MacRiley was going to be a reality, that was the writers' idea
@@matiasrodriguez7408 i think that if season 6 wasn’t cancelled the writers could’ve made this plot work better if desi and mac had a shorter relationship with no resentment and then in the finale desi would realise that she still has feelings for mac, mac and riley get together and then desi’s husband returns.

Daaaamn rewatching this, I notice how bad wrote last season was, a Desi's boyfriend is mentioned out of nowhere just to create more drama, Desi, Riley and Mac acting lile a teenagers in love instead of adults, an good and bad relationship with Mac and Desi, an on and off interest of Riley in Mac, Mac acting like a jerk jumping from one to another, if they wanted to make Desi and Mac a couple again, they should have stayed with a healthy good enjoyable relationship, with Riley having another interest (not necessarly romantic) and ended smartly in the next season, not inventing from the ass a past boyfriend
