I'm looking at a G4000 Heatmaster myself. I'm exactly like you except I'm really close to retirement. I find that exercise and being outside doing things is so much better than sitting at my I.T. job. I can't wait to check out in a few more years and work my 90 acres of wooded lot nice and slowly.

Great video, TY for sharing your story. I love it when someone has a plan & follows through with it. I especially ❤️ it when it works out the way you planned it. Enjoy your retirement when it happens. Dave D. from Southern Maine.

Awesome Steve! I started watching your channel a few years back because of the wood boiler vids, I'm glad you're at the break even point. If I was building my house from scratch I'd totally go the wood boiler route, just for the fact that I love to cut wood and I think its a good thing to have to do as you get older, to keep yourself moving.

You found us over here LOL! No reason you can't put a boiler in after the fact! Granted it's allot easier to do while you are building.

    Boilers are the ticket!👍🏻

This one has the fan in the bottom. Terrible design, I'm always having to scoop it out so the fans work properly! Wouldn't go without one though.

That’s awesome Steve! It’s gotta be very rewarding having a boiler. I hope moving forward I can look into a boiler. Especially if I build my dream shop someday. Thanks for the info 👊🏻

You and Evan would need uglier wood if you got a boiler!

I heat my home with wood pellets, and firewood pays for that every year.
Firewood also had delayed arthritis issues i have in both hands. And no. Need for a guy membership, so overall, it's a win-win😉👍

I'd much rather split firewood than go to the gym!

That is awesome for you brother! I personally started off with a maul and splitting axe my first year, then bought cheap hydraulic splitter, now I have a super split. I sell firewood (small producer) and have used the money I've made to reinvest to each of these levels of production. I added a conveyor recently and that saves so much time. I split into bulk bags and use my Kioti DK tractor to move them around as well has move logs and such. It has been a great adventure and I have plans for growth in the future as well. Subbed to see more of your videos.

Always done firewood but only our 2 nd yr with an outdoor boiler . We did it for the same reason it would pay for itself in under 6 yrs compared to buying oil .

Being almost 63yo, I get my wood delivered cut and split for a nice price. I enjoy burning wood in our woodstove when it's really cold out. If it's not cold enough , I burn the oil. The years of burning 6 cord are over, winters have been warm here in Rhode Island.

I love wood heat savings aside. Not a bad thing to have the back up if the furnace takes a turn either!

Hi Steve,I liked the video and just hit the sub button, very cool color on the splitter
Is water treatment an issue for all the radiant…antifreeze or anything? Thanks

HI Bob, I don't run anything in it. It's anti freeze properties if treated diminish. My plumber told me it would get hot and loose its anti freeze properties but it seems like that is not true. I just know when it's cold enough to freeze it's time to have the boiler on so I don't bother but piece of mind is worth allot on the other hand.
