- Today we take on a challenge of going around London and eating at the worst rated restaurants... not only worst rated but also worst reviewed restaurant.
We started of by going to the worst rated cafe in London, Palace restaurant cafe. Imagine I got charged £15.50 for a poxy jacket potato and another £15.50 for fish and chips, it's an absolute rip off!!! Then we went to Ristorante Roma which is an "Italian restaurant" more like a frozen food restaurant. We ended our night at Taj Mahal which is an Indian restaurant, this place was literally from a movie. It didn't feel real.

exactly!!! i live in kuwait, so i converted the money in kuwaiti currency... YOU CAN FEED A FAMILY OF 6 WITH SUCH GOOD QUALITY FOOD AND GREAT AMOUNT OF FOOD with that. 38 pounds is above ridiculous. 2 plates in an average restaurant shouldve costed like around 13 pounds in kuwait with drinks and everything.

Service charges seem absolutely insane to me. That’s how you know it’s a tourist trap.

@@bratzlover501 yeah but you can ask to take it off. service charge is at MY discretion not the restaurants. I'd rather tip the waiter/waitress in cash anyway. Service charge goes straight to the company, or gets shared among staff (which is even worse cos then there is no incentive for staff to perform well..)
oh my goodness that last place would've made me scream - the amount that he talked and pressured about meals I'd feel so uncomfortable. Honestly most of those restaurants seem like pure stress

The more the staff talk the higher the chance they overcharge you! Learnt this in Turkey where the waiter was chatter then charged us £20 worth of food more 😂

We were looking at one restaurant outside of Vatican city, that waiter would not stop flirting with my mum. When my mum asked about the price, he immediately said "Price..? It's all about price!" So we were like yh... no!

Alot of ethnicities do this. My ex jewish boss would always scam clients at the hair salon I worked at, and she would come over being extra nice to the clients, talking their ears off while you were doing their hair, then look at the bill and JACK up the price behind their and the staffs back at the reception. Then us Hair Stylist and the receptionist would have to be like "Sorry I'm not sure why the price has changed, I didn't change it the owner did".
Asking what you would like to order before giving you a table is mad. How are they even still in business??

@@AK_Phantom1 It is very not normal across all Europe and considered extremely rude. The clients are taken to their table and then handed a menu.
I would love it if someone did a social experiment by ordering from these places, but telling people that they’re from highly rated restaurants, get them to taste it and see what the comments are 😂

To be fair, it's hard to get fish & chips for under 12 quid, assuming what that place was serving was cod. Fish and indeed potatoes have become insanely expensive in the last couple years. How these places make up the money is ripping you off £3.50 for a drink that probably cost them a tenth of that.
The chips probably tasted meaty because they might have cooked in the same fryer used for frying meat.

When I was young I use to buy pre-frozen thick french fries from McCain and they always tasted like meat. I feel the company pre-cooks them in meat fat.

Indeed. Same goes for menus which cover different cusines from many regions because no restaurent is going to be good at everything. It's better to have a small menu and really excel at those items.

Yooooo, my parents visited me in London last year and we were out and abt touring and I was starving...so we just sat down at Palace Restaurant Cafe without reading any reviews and it was truly awful. I ordered a tuna sandwich that was like £10 for I kid you not - two slices of white bread and plain tuna+mayo. I was so angry. The minute I saw the interior in this video, I was like, wait a damn minute!!!
You guys are so brave. At the Italian restaurant I wouldn't have trusted any of the silverware, especially after seeing that half washed glass. Yuck 🤮
Also restaurants with large menus are almost always a red flag. Like there's no way all that food is served fresh.

I wouldn’t have left that last restaurant without paying the appropriate amount. They’re quite entitled to call the police on themselves if they like, they’re only mugging themselves off. Absolute wasters. Infuriates me how anyone can scam people like that, not everyone reads the breakdown of a bill (you should - ALWAYS! And always write down what you’re ordering & the price when ordering a take away over the phone! They’ll try & scam you too!), that’s why his face changed, because he knew you’d cottoned on. Infuriates me that people don’t go out very often now & when they do it’s a treat, most don’t have the spare funds to have a meal out these days, & they’re sitting there gleefully rubbing their greedy mitts scamming people. Disgusting.

We once went to Bruges and one of the days was like over 38c and we got way overheated and ducked into the closest restaurant with some semblance of ventilation, it was "Italian", we ordered a pizza, which was obviously previously frozen. But worst of all, it was a veggie pizza, with the 2 main veg being corn and green beans. Corn. And. Greenbeans.
Wow! It's strange that none of the restaurants gave you receipts for the things you ordered. Maybe in other countries it's common. Whatever restaurant I've eaten at in my country (Bulgaria), I always recieved receipt(so they can't lie for the price of the food and drinks).
The last place was the worst out them all. I would have questioned that check and even showed the price on the menu. They should be investigated because that is utter fraud

to be fair to the owner of the first cafe, you were very obviously filming, i can certainly imagine the owner of a cafe with a bad online reputation being worried when someone walks in and sets up a camera.

I remember the guy (not sure if it was the same guy) arguing with me; I told him I didn't eat meat and he was saying that he was a doctor and I wouldn't be so fat if I ate more protein. Lol, I wasn't offended - his personalty was great. I just remember that. Thanks for this video - it was great :)

Despite the fact that you bought fish and chips you do you realise that they use the same oil for making pork and other non halal items this is cross contamination if they have pork on the menu you should just refrain from going

We have been at the same restaurant "taj mahal" in london and they made us give them a 50% tip and we payed 100 pounds just for tikka masala
Intersting you guys thought the food was microwaved. We went to a dodgy indian restaurant and my chicken was hard in some parts...like dried out..we went to a festival the next day and i had a toxic belly for over a week!..i am shocked to think that as i possibly had a microwaved pre made curry ..im so glad that back home we have good indian takeaway that we ❤..great vids girls 😅

Also, if that Indian restaurant pulled any of that in this region of the world (the excessive talking, the bringing extras to the table, the bill anomalies) that place would be shut down in a heartbeat. I know why you didn’t press the matter (for our entertainment), but it might have been interesting to see what the waiter would say if you called him on the menu vs. bill prices.
