Rod Liddle interviews Graham Linehan - an outstandingly brilliant comedy writer and a staunch defender of women's and children's rights against extremist trans ideology.
The SDP is a patriotic, economically left-leaning, and culturally traditional political party.

Seeing Graham able to get back out there, receive a standing ovation and start to reassemble his life is heartwarming. He had his life destroyed simply by speaking common sense and pointing out the obvious truth while the eldest of the world went mad and bought into a delusion. His friends and co-workers abandoned him in the cowardice and they should be shamed forever.

A true hero for his bravery in speaking the truth even when it seemed the whole world was against him. It wasn’t it’s just there are too many cowards amongst us, too many authoritarian bullies who hold the power, too weak and corrupt a media class, and too many perverts who see gender woo as a loophole the size of a black hole and will fight to the end to keep that loophole open. What happened to Graham has ruined British comedy for me, at any rate the modern stuff on TV / radio / podcasts etc., because when I see David Mitchell or Romesh or any of them e.g. Bake Off or Task Master or WILTY, now I just think "You're only where you are because you kept quiet in order to get ahead." Seeing them in cushy positions, knowing none of them stood up for Graham and supported women/girls and LGB people... It's so profoundly depressing.
It also tbh opened my eyes to the younger stands ups who are my own generation, people like James Acaster or Nish Kumar, or saddest of all, most female stand-ups - and they're all DEEP in the id pol and gender woo. Ugh

I grew up with The day today, Brass eye and Jam….it’s appalling how those guys have chosen to hide.
Comedy today is largely finished as a social satire because all those involved (on a national scale) are part of the establishment.
In a way it’s worse now than it was in the 70’s because at least those tv comedians weren’t pretending to be anything other than mainstream.
