  • Power BI has an exciting new feature that can "generate the DAX" for you. In this video, let me review the "Quick measure suggestions" feature. Using this, you can ask Power BI what you want to calculate in "natural language" and it will generate the necessary DAX code for you.

      Two times in my developer life I used non-standard visuals. When I had to rebuild whole reports because visuals stop working with new update of PBI, I stopped using them.
      ONLY provided with PBI.

      I take pride in developing data calculations that make the most of the vanilla visualisations. You can also create your own in Python and many other platforms.

    The problem with this is that simple measures we can do ourselves. What would be really interesting is making mid to high complexity ones. The feature may point a direction, but the way it is now it's more of a hinder to newcomers

    • @human_hope

      Obviously it can't do any complex measures. Perhaps in few years when AI is more powerful

      If you need very sofisticated measure you should re-think your logic. You should be able to split Everything to small simple steps.

    We always have to apply the filters in excel for same dataset because from there we will be sure if the Ai have generated the right value or not . Lets take my case as I was creating this Churing rate in PowerBI BUT just to be sure that the Dax formula is showing correct calculation , I had my excel opened with some filters just to see if I am getting the same excel result in power Bi .

    If you don't know what you're doing, you don't know what you're doing. haha... Good video. AI is already everywhere and it helps don't get me wrong, but you still need a brain to know what you're asking, what you're expecting, you need to know how to perform validation, etc... We shouldn't underestimate learning and going through the process ourselves.

    • @lightning369
      @lightning369 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true. One needs to know what he or she wants. Contrary to this is like having many ladders piled on each other inside a deep hole. They won't help you out of the hole since they are stacked on each other flat on the ground. You just need one ladder propped against the hole's wall to climb out to safety.

    Even chatGPT is giving incorrect results sometimes.
    We have to identify it and correct it.
    These AI features are good still we need to know DAX properly.
    This quick measure we can use when we want to save time and improve productivity...
    Moral of the story is -
    You should need to learn DAX to use such features...

    • @dancorwin9232
      @dancorwin9232 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't want to talk down to you, but it does look like you might need a more fundamental understanding of how relationships work in data. I would look at "types of relationships in data science" and go from there, and then once you move back into power bi, understand that power bi works almost entirely with "one to many" relationships. That should be a good path for you to understand what's going on!

    I've 4 years of experience in Data Analysis in the product Management in (Product Characteristics, categories) knowledge with MS Excel and Data Management Skills. I wish to upgrade myself to Power BI and something from my excel data management works to data visualization or presentation domain or something. AI is upon us in an amazingly practical way. That said, it makes you wonder how many of those 10k folks that MS is laying off were DAX (or other code) developers they no longer need for internal projects?

    • @Blashmack
      @Blashmack ปีที่แล้ว +8

      That's an exciting idea, but the boring truth is most of the people in the 10K are likely related to the crazy hiring spree and project boom that happened during the last two pandemic years. Just look at MS/tech firms employee growth from 2019 to 2022. They're being cut loose here

    • @basictalent1
      @basictalent1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blashmack a lot of senior members were also let go with 10yrs + MS experience doesn’t mean they were hired during the pandemic. They were fired because they are no longer relevant to the current AI disruption. Majority of the impact is AI related and MS started investing in ChatGPT and will eventually buy it out and integrate in all their MS products.
      That means the whole IT industry (not just high tech) but IT professionals are gonna be impacted by this.
