    Nice concept. I installed it under my deck and it worked fine for about two years. Now cracks are forming and I'm patching with the tape that is used for installation. I wanted to put a ceiling on the bottom of my deck, but now that isn't an option when cracks start showing up every couple of months

      Hello, that is very interesting... I've haven't heard of this problem before. Have you reached out to Trex? There is a 20 year warranty on Rain Escapes.

      Thanks for the reminder about the warranty. I called Trex and we are in the process of, hopefully, fixing the problem. Now I just hope it wasn't user error. Thanks again.

      @@forestfrost9676 How are you making out with Trex on a warranty claim? I'm considering using this product. However, even if Trex warranties the material, the labor is the big piece. Very curious what you are finding. Thanks.

      @@wwhomeshowhow much will it cost for a 16x 24 deck?

    • @wwhomeshow
      @wwhomeshow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bhagavadgitateluguasmr That's a loaded question! There are way too many variables. How far off the ground? Railing? Steps? What type of decking? A 16' x 24' deck could range between $5k-$10k in materials.

    How do you account for a middle board and picture framing when trying to waterproof a deck? It makes the framing difficult.

      You're right, adding picture framing and breaker board framing makes it more difficult. You might have to direct the water to more than one gutter.
      There is some handy information here.

    3 years with Rainescape no leaks. My only problem is bees are now flying inbetween the deck boards and creating nests :/ any ideas on how to prevent this?

    • @wwhomeshow
      @wwhomeshow  หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you say "bees" are you referring to hornets or wasps? Or Honey Bees?
      I have been getting Mason Bees nesting all over my house the past few years. They are amazing pollinators so I spoke to an expert about responsibly relocating them. I ended up installing Mason Bee houses and it really helped. If you're dealing with Honey Bees, you should call a local beekeeper to get some advice.
      Wasps and Hornets are a different story! You may have to speak to an extermination company to keep them out.

    Nice concept but winter climate causes condensation when snow,ice sit in trough and in warms up outside. Massive drips.
