He breaks invis because activating grapple melee takes you out of invis, which would prevent you from getting the 3x stylish damage buff. You have to make sure you activate grapple before going invis so you can get that damage. So combo is shotgun + grapple --> go invis --> grapple melee
I think the best exotic class item for this combo is going to be Galinors with Syntho. Galinor refunds super energy on hits, and from what I've heard (haven't gotten one to test myself) it is more effective at returning shadowshot energy than Orpheus Rig.
Not really. Spirit of galanor only counts the initial hits. Enemies that walk into the tether after the initial shot do not provide super gains, so orpheus is still more consistent.
@@jshock2008 False. The damage spreading effect of tether provides energy refund through galanor. This requires less enemies to receive 50% of super when compared to orpheus.
And from what I've seen from other comments, I'm not sure this will work every time. Just seems to be really inconsistent. Orpheus is a lot more consistent.
Wasn't grapple not supposed to refound completely after a succesful melee even on a grapple point ? Maybe they only applied the nerf to strand subclass and not prismatic in pure bungie fashion.
the change was to the grapple point itself, not the grenade refund. Before TFS, grappling a Grapple point would refresh its dissapearance countdown fully, letting you theoretically keep a grapple point up infinitely if you just kept on grappling. Now it gets diminishing returns until it lasts very little between grapples. It really, really doesn't matter for those 15-20 second DPS phases

That banner is a bigger deal then i think alot of people give it credit when running something like this. Most of a hunters healing or survival kits kinda screw this up, yea you can run withering blade like they suggest here with the facet that triggers health regen, but the problem you'll often run into is withering to too effective at content that matches your level (nukes 3 or more red bars) which you need for the tether later, and at higher level content doesn't do enough damage to nuke 1 thus leaving you stuck. While this is undoubtly a solid setup, its alot harder to pull off consistently vs the older wormgod setups more moving parts that you simply can't control for
@steelfallenangel this. So many ways for it to get fucked up. Can you guarantee 1 or 2 insanely high damage hits? Yes, but beyond that is total rng and luck. I've been trying for the last two hours to get the solo one phase for that boss in the vid. So often after the first or second punch, all the ads are either dead or nowhere near the tether, leaving you kinda stuck. If you leave all the ads alive you're definitely gonna get killed before damage phase, and if you don't, there's not gonna be enough for every punch unless you get lucky. Closest I could get was 4 mil in one phase with an inch left on the boss's health. Seeing it in a video is one thing, but pulling this off, especially when you consider you need 2 hard to obtain exotics that are both random drop chance just to even be able to attempt to, is the reason I don't see them nerfing this. On top of that it's only a viable strategy against certain bosses. It's not as though it's such ez damage that you can walk into any melee range/surrounded boss and one phase it every time. The titan version didn't require such a specific and delicate series of events to occur to be as viable and powerful as it was. I still prefer the hunter version, but people see the damage numbers and don't actually test things themselves, so they immediately overreact to them. 1.2 mil per hit is insane but they forget to consider that that's after stacking like 20 different circumstantial buffs. Titans just had Navigator, wormgod, one two punch, and maaaaaaybe tractor cannon if they hot swapped. Shit was so much easier to pull off.
@@hoping_on_hopeYeah we are the "meele" class what do u expect from us, meanwhile hunters casually doing over 4m dps with a primary, having a lot of exotics like Assassin's cowl, gyrafalcon's, and other broken exotics every time and getting 0 nerfs, keep crying.
Tbh just 2 changes to fix this. Stylish Execution melee bonus no longer applies damage bonus to charged melees (it’s not meant to) and One Two punch no longer increases grapple melee damage.
Nothing here would suggest that this shouldn’t happen though, everything can be explained and I doubt they’ll nerf Synthos and I don’t think they could stop stylish executioner from activating off tether kills
Love that it’s only when hunters get absolutely busted that people want shit to get nerfed. How long was starfire busted? Storm nade w/ HOIL? Titan grapple?
Not to mention this is quite a bit harder to pull off vs the older wormgod setups that titan grapple had. Not that it was easy to pull that off but it had fewer moving parts plus the banner of war giving near constant health regen. This has things that the player has only a little bit of control over, especially trying to preform it at peak efficiency with a grapple point. The timing to pull off stylish with a grapple melee while also having to worry about not all adds being nuked be the damage feedback is something you can only nudge the enemies to cooperate with. Yea it'll look really flashy when you can pull it off but will have a lot more false starts with ads just not moving into the tether after the initial batch. They may still nerf it but the easiest thing they could do would be to simply make it so grapple melee doesn't count for stylish executioner or more heavily restrict the timing for stylish since it pretty clear its not meant to be working in this scenario to begin with. It'll kill this extremely specific combo but will do minimal damage to other builds both titan and hunter.
Shhhh don’t tell anyone! Using prismatic, strand grapple and strand powered melee with Synthoceps - takes all bosses down in 3 strikes while transcendent 👌🏼

Used to run Behemoth with crowd control, damage resist, and constant uptime on abilities and weapon damage buffs. This was before buildcrafting 2.0 came out. Before that patch, Titans weren’t only the melee class, there was variety.
I just love the fact that hunters are legit no joke doing more damage with this combo than wormgods + banner right now after the nerf to it, titans have had their identity as a class completely stripped in terms of builds that dont feel too week to run at higher end content and the variety for a very long time has felt quite stale, cause its either punch shit n do loads of damage(synthos/wormgods) or throw a bunch of abillities out n hope something dies(mainly HoIL). What happened to the actual titan identities of the artillary siege breakers, the wall of the last city defender, and first line strikers. They need to be given something more interesting!!!
putting into perspective how frustrating it is to build on titan I can say I thought about using unbreakable with double shield throw and I wanted to use the fragment that gives volitile rounds if you suppress, but fun fact unbreakable doesnt suppress, it dissorients.
This single handled proves hunter has wayyyy better punching builds than titans, when bungie themselves hand crafted titans and 95% of there subclasses to soloely only punch things 😐
It's a timing issue, the sequence for getting stylish execution to proc from the 12 punch is weird for the grapple melee. Your essentially just having to feel it out manually since the ingame buffs can't keep up and the visuals don't accurately depict whats going on (the game thinking your still invisible)
This is just not working like it is for him. i don't understand. Not once have I hit for 1.6 million. I've done it probably 50 times. Never once. And if I do get a good hit, literally every ad dies from the shot on the boss or the melee so I can't hit again.
As OP as this is the setup does require a good couple of things so I don’t see it being nerfed too hard by bungo. Like an entire super, aiming correctly at ur grapple point and timing ur invis proc is all alot. I can see maybe a nerf to stylish if used on grapple spam but idk
You will never be a real titan. You have no bubble, you have no hammers, you have no mark. You are a prismatic hunter twisted by stylish executioner and grapple melee into a crude mockery of the traveler’s perfection.
You can't do the same setup though, theres some major big multipliers you miss out on. The titan version is good, and much more survivable, but not as much dmg
or simply make it so stylish doesn't proc off grapple melees. Theres actually alot of ways to make this not leagues above everything else without nuking other builds or messing with things that would cross over to other classes
If stylish executioner gets proc'd through ANY debuff with prismatic . Would jolting the boss theoretically achieve the same effect as the tether? Or do the surrounding enemies need to debuffed themselves by jolt, to proc invisibility?
“We are neutering ehm.. nerfing synthos even further with a max of a 1.0175 multiplier. And you need 5 enemies around to proc it now for a duration of 1.2 seconds.” -Bungie
It's also good for Atheon, Crota, first boss of Prophecy, both bosses grasp of avarice, and essentially every boss that can benefit from surrounded and is in melee range. Not to mention, it can probably easily one or two shot any applicable non-dungeon/raid bosses.
I feel like the best way for Bungie to remove this combo entirely is just by making the grapple melee ONLY grenade damage and not also melee damage. I feel like that's a no brainer instead of what they tried doing with the TFS patch.
Yeah, I find it crazy how this hasn't been done yet. Like sure, it'd be neat if some melee based effects would still proc, but it really shouldn't benefit from melee damage boosts.
I am very shocked they dont hard cap damage of melee increasing stuff. This kinda stuff always causes issues. Like the fact they let you stack soo many melee buffs together has caused so many issues in tbe past yet they dont hard cap it to 5x or lower or something Hunters finally getting time in the spotlight. If you beleive what hunter mains have claimed in the past. Alas its just another boring melee stacking buff build not particularly very fun
Yeah because i totally want to go on my hunter and play as a titan with extra steps, grind out hoping this exact class item drops to use a dungeon exotic for one perk it has. You're doing too much for bosses that arent really hard to kill anyway, maybe if you used this on the 2nd encounter on the new raid but killing the same lost sector boss and one of the easiest dungeon bosses isnt much of a flex.

Armamentarium is the preferred exotic for most of the builds, though HoIL also works well. Arc actually does well enough without them, so you can run a different exotic if you want. If you're running Sentinel Shield on Void though, then Doomfang is phenomenal. I'd also say Hazardous Propulsion in general is a good non-melee option.
Next patch "There seems to be an issue where spirit of synthoceps is performing better than the actual exotic so we're going to nerf it to where it's unusable also given that the hunter grapple melee is doing a significant amount of damage we are also going to nerf that and also add a cool down in between grapple melee attack for hunters"
Hmm, I don't see how that screws over Titans so I can already tell you that's not how it'll go. Maybe disabling synthoceps entirely or removing multicative scaling for damage in general, but if it doesn't screw over titans it's probably not going to happen at all.
"we noticed that hunter melee is too op, so we are deleting titans from the game"
I still keep seeing people argue saying titans are not in a bad spot which is kinda funny to me. Titans are in a bad spot its just a fact BUT I do think next "episode"/season this will be fixed with a new aspect or exotic. The same thing happened when lightfall came out titans had very little class identity and then we got banner of war. Now titans are having a really bad identity crisis since hunters can do everything a titan can but better.
Yeah, from a warlock main. You don't need to be the best class in the game all the time. Literally, Titans were soloing raid bosses.
Titans have been neutered in pve because of pvp and they are still obnoxious in pvp.
Just goes to show some people shouldn't have their jobs.
@@ImmortalStone I dont disagree at all. Thats why I am not freaking out about it. Its fine that titans are in a weird spot for now.
@@ImmortalStone 100% agree. Titans will shine again one day, don’t worry.
Imo, titan's still have a better grapple melee with wormgods and titan's prismatic build is overall more consistent except for celestial still hunt, which is undoubtedly getting nerfed into the ground. Inmost light/syntho or star-eater is absolutely busted on titan because of the amount of abilities and titan's new super is just a better tether.
I guess it’s Hunter’s turn to be Titans. Who knew, the punching class isn’t the best at punching.
Hunters were supposed to be the "agility/speed" class, but have never been the fastest (at base); that honor went to Titans until Shatter/Wellskating came along. So really this is just the completion of a trade that started nearly a decade ago. 😌👌

So not only have titans only received nerfs in final shape and a lackluster prismatic kit, but hunters just straight up got our only useful exotic and can use it to greater effect than we ever could? I bet that these same hunter mains will point out banner of war as a defense even though banner of war wasn't 4 tapping dungeon bosses at -5 under with no set up required like hunters are currently allowed to do.

He did lol
as a tiatan main i want bungie to give me a reason to play my class
@JuanLopez-cm7fx That's not correct either. You get 25% for tethering and another 25% for killing the enemies. Tethering alone will not get you 50%.
And from what I've seen from other comments, I'm not sure this will work every time. Just seems to be really inconsistent. Orpheus is a lot more consistent.
I got this combo
Wasn't grapple not supposed to refound completely after a succesful melee even on a grapple point ? Maybe they only applied the nerf to strand subclass and not prismatic in pure bungie fashion.
the change was to the grapple point itself, not the grenade refund. Before TFS, grappling a Grapple point would refresh its dissapearance countdown fully, letting you theoretically keep a grapple point up infinitely if you just kept on grappling. Now it gets diminishing returns until it lasts very little between grapples. It really, really doesn't matter for those 15-20 second DPS phases
Might get my solo challenge done using this if it isn't disabled by the time I get home from work.
Nah you should be good man. It’ll take time for this to get nerfed

There's a reason that only 100 Titans cleared the day 1 raid out of 4000 guardians.
@@charliecarlisle5912 Punching literally has 0 reason for why few Titans cleared contest Salvation's Edge. It's literally because Still Hunt + Celestial is obscenely broken. That's the only reason lmao
I mean, you could do this as a BoW Titan, you have Sythos, you have a 12Punch shotgun, you just don't have access to Deadfall or that multiplier

Tbh just 2 changes to fix this.
Stylish Execution melee bonus no longer applies damage bonus to charged melees (it’s not meant to) and One Two punch no longer increases grapple melee damage.

Because HOIL and starfire wasn't 6 shotting dungeon bosses
my problem is the ads all die the first shot I put into the boss. So I'm losing the 3x from Stylish

Now give Titans Celestial Golden Night “Fists” so we can have the Hunter experience
I saw a titan solo this dungeon like this glad hunters can too. Now for warlocks.
Yeah. Willing to bet Bungie will remove the Stylish Executioner melee damage bonus from powered melees if this gets too widespread
If stylish executioner gets proc'd through ANY debuff with prismatic . Would jolting the boss theoretically achieve the same effect as the tether?
Or do the surrounding enemies need to debuffed themselves by jolt, to proc invisibility?
No because shared damage is not there. Monsters may not die....
i tried to do this combo in the same encounter and everytime i go to try i get insta killed by the boss they NEED to revert these changes they did
revert the nerf of titan banner of war, titan need a unique and good dps method like the other 2 classes
Why do you need to shoot the shotgun to remove invisibility? Won’t shooting the boss again and killing an ad just refresh it?
“We are neutering ehm.. nerfing synthos even further with a max of a 1.0175 multiplier. And you need 5 enemies around to proc it now for a duration of 1.2 seconds.” -Bungie
showing it only on 1 boss makes me think it's only good for that one
And there is still people saying warlocks are the most broken class…
Bungie should delete titans and warlocks…
I am very shocked they dont hard cap damage of melee increasing stuff. This kinda stuff always causes issues. Like the fact they let you stack soo many melee buffs together has caused so many issues in tbe past yet they dont hard cap it to 5x or lower or something

not understanding the grapple part, whenever I grapple and punch, I don't get my grapple back
Yeah because i totally want to go on my hunter and play as a titan with extra steps, grind out hoping this exact class item drops to use a dungeon exotic for one perk it has. You're doing too much for bosses that arent really hard to kill anyway, maybe if you used this on the 2nd encounter on the new raid but killing the same lost sector boss and one of the easiest dungeon bosses isnt much of a flex.
How it works is getting insane content creator luck so you can get the right exotic class item. I keep getting dog crap roles

How is the neutral game of this build? Is it actually viable for solo dungeons outside of DPS phases?
Can't figure out why I'm doing way less damage
If they leave this alone next season it nerfs itself. Also it take so much setup that only about 2% of people will be able to take advantage of it.
News flash: since the beginning bungie has ALWAYS dropped stuff in the game thats busted on purpose....thats just what they do. Its simply been their MO, afterward they know they can rely on content creators giving them all they need to roll out nerfs all across the board
very funny that synthos have been consistently busted and they're just like "let's give it to everyone"
They gave Star Eater to everyone. Fair trade.
