The film, a faithful and visually stunning rendition of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, became a cultural phenomenon and established her as a star.
Throughout her career, Hussey took on a variety of memorable roles, including Mary in the 1977 miniseries Jesus of Nazareth and Jess in the horror classic Black Christmas (1974). She also appeared in the star-studded adaptation of Death on the Nile (1978) and worked in voice acting for projects like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Hussey’s personal life included marriages to Dean Paul Martin, Akira Fuse, and David Glen Eisley. She is survived by her three children, including actress India Eisley, and a grandson.
