- Gardar Thor Cortes wird das neue Phantom in Liebe Stirbt Nie - Phantom II. Der isländische Tenor wurde von Andrew Lloyd Webber persönlich für diese Rolle ausgewählt. Der sympathische Künstler ist gerade von Reykjavik nach Hamburg gezogen. Als kleinen Vorgeschmack auf das Musical haben wir ein Musikvideo mit ihm produziert: "So sehr fehlt mir dein Gesang"!

The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. Somehow this German version of "Till I hear you sing" is absoluetly breath taking as the original in english! Somehow, I don't know, I think I really like this one over the original!! :) Absolutely beautiful!!

@@lennowiddo8198 Ein Satz, der starke Gefühle (in diesem Falle Sehnsucht) ausdrückt. Sie war seine Inspiration und seit sie weg ist, kommt er mit dem Leben nicht mehr klar. Ich finden den Satz nicht terrible, sondern sehr passend für das Gefühl, welches ausgedrückt werden soll. 🤷

Gardar is absolutely riveting in this German version. Even the acting is amazing! He sang this as it should have been sung. The angst literally rips your heart out. Thank you.

I got to see Gardar Thor Cortes last year when I saw Love Never Dies Live for the first time. I saw it with my mom in Las Vegas at the Smith Center. We had orchestra seats. It was on a US Tour. Gardar was the Phantom and Meghan Picerno was Christine. It was so incredible.
Ah, lucky. I saw the show with Bronson. Wasn’t impressed with him but Meghan was so good.

Mir gefällt vor allem ,dass er erst leise und verhalten beginnt zu singen um dann quasi mit der wachsenden Intensität der Musik 🎶 anfängt zu ,,fliegen ‚‘‘ist jetzt ein bisschen komisch ausgedrückt 😊

I'm so freaking lucky and incredibly happy to see him as the Phantom in Love Never Dies at Pantages Theater in West Hollywood last weekend. Everyone was soooo freaking amazing and talented, especially the Phantom, Christine, and Gustave.

I had so hoped "Lover Never Dies" would come to Hamburg. It is beyond me, why this piece failed so badly everywhere. There are some really great songs (this being one) and the ending is just perfect musical drama... I would have bought a ticket! I watched it over and over and the translation is extremely well done. Does anyone know how wrote the German lyrics?
Beautiful beautiful top notes. Just hope he doesn't fall into the trap that a few opera singers do, focuses too much on making his top Bb beautiful and forgets to act
Actually I felt that because he didn't have to concentrate on the singing too much, he focussed a lot on acting. He was superb!
